Had dinner here with a few co-workers. I'm sure it's busy at lunch, but like most places near the Triangle, it's quiet after working hours. Perhaps six or seven other tables occupied when we were there. They have much larger dining area than it appears from the parking lot. Easy to eat your fill for around $10 or less. My italian sub + waffle fries + soda was around $10 and was more food than I could ever hope to eat. Two slices plus a soda runs around $7 and the slices are bigger than the plates. Everything was fresh, piping hot and delicious. I'll definitely be back. A big plus in addition to taste is friendly folks. My office often orders from Randy's, at least one time per week if not more, but after my experience with them today I will not be giving them any more of my money. The food from Randy's is mediocre at best - it's decent pizza, and their salads are cut up iceberg lettuce. One time I ordered a salad and had to throw half of it out because the lettuce was brown. But, we continue to consistently order from them because of the convenience. The issue I have is the way they treat their customers. My coworker was ordering from them and I wanted to order with her. When I went to add my order, they considered it a "new ticket" and stated that I did not meet the $10 minimum for delivery. This was in spite of the fact that they were already going to be delivering MORE than the minimum amount to my office. In the past this was never a problem, so I am not sure why today they decided that each person needed to meet the minimum rather than counting our office as a whole. I will be sharing this information with my coworkers, and as stated earlier will not be ordering from them again. I'm originally from Jersey and I'm picky when it comes to my pizza. It seems every other pizza place in NC claims to have NY style pizza. More often than not, it seems to be nothing more than false advertising and a major let-down. However, this place is the real deal and their slices are delicious. Just finished dinner here and it was awesome! We had the 16" 1 topping pizza and 10 wing special which was a great deal! The pizza is the closest I've had to New York style, thin and crispy, but the stand out were the wings! We tried the sweet chilli wings which the owner David suggested. Juicy and super flavorful. As far as NY style pizza goes, Randy's in RTP hits the nail on the head. Thin, somewhat chewy crust, fresh ingredients, and a fun place to eat in general. For 2 people, the 14 inch pizza works out pretty well. If you can't agree on toppings, grab a slice or two, but be warned, they are HUGE. I mean they bring it out to you on two plates huge. Personal favorites are the pepperoni and bbq chicken. The garlic knots are definitely above par as well. Like another reviewer said, the pizza does reheat really well. I haven't tried it in the microwave, but pop it into the oven for 5 minutes and it tastes as good as it did the day before. Made a second trip to Randy's to check out a different dinner option. Tonight was lasagna for the hubby and manicotti for me. Good? No. It was GREAT! The dinners came with salads and garlic knots. And I gotta tell ya ... those damned garlic knots could be the death of me! There is no way to stop eating them! My new years resolution is going to be to toss the bathroom scales in the dumpster. ;) The lasagna was rich in flavor and generously filled with meat, veggies and cheese. And the portion size was more than manly! The manicotti was good, but was not my personal favorite. I prefer the ricotta to be a bit creamier. But I ate it ALL, so it couldn't have been that bad. This is by far my favorite pizza place in the Triangle. As others have said, don't judge this Randy's based on your experience at others in the area ... this one is FAR better than the others. Fantastic NY style pizza with a nice thin crust. The sauce is great and there's not too much of it (I hate pizza where the cheese slides off because it's drowning in sauce). All the ingredients are good quality, particularly the cheese, which can really make or break a pizza. The chicken is a particularly good topping -- it's got a nice garlicky taste. This place is crazy during the lunch crush, but if you can go late, or for dinner, it's a completely different experience. It's also got the friendliest staff in the Triangle. If you eat here a couple of times, you'll be considered a regular and will feel like part of the family. Highly recommended! read more

If you work in RTP, I think it's something of an initiation to eat here, that's how renown the place is. Slices are literally a foot long. If you eat 2 slices, you're a beast. Pound it. Ok, I've been here twice and had Randy's pizza brought into work a couple of times. I hate to say it but this pizza is pretty/very average at best. Like slightly better than Dominio's. I've also asked my co-workers and they feel the same way. Don't quite get the other reviewers but to each his own. Place is super crowded at lunch time and you have to wait in a fairly long line to order. Given my take on the pizza, how crowded the place is, etc. I pass anytime anyone wants to go out there. read more

Having lived 7 years in NYC, I do have to agree with the other reviews - this is the closest I have had to genuine New York pizza in this area. Thin crust, sauce with a fresh tang to it, and cheese melted just right where it is soft and gooey yet stays on the bread and does not slide off. And to top it off, each slice was humungus. Definitely worth the price and will be my go to pizza place starting now. It is quite unfortunate that I've only discovered this place 2 blocks from my place and I've been here for over a year. read more

The pizza was actually kind of gross. I am not a big fan of the tiny sausage they used, and very little red sauce on the thin style crust. But the service was excellent, the workers there were wonderful and kind and good, and the Greek salad was very good. The Greek dressing was outstanding. read more

I love the pizza at Randy's! They are always packed at lunch, but the line moves quickly and now that they have expanded into the space next door finding a table doesn't seem to be a problem either. You stand in line and place your order and pay and they call your name to come pick up your food when it's ready. It doesn't ever seem to be a long wait from the time you order to the time you get your food. As far as the food, I have only tried their pizza and their calzones and both are excellent. The pizza is a nice thin thin crust with the right amount of sauce and toppings. You can order by the slice with whatever combos you want and they have a number of combos (slice + salad, 2 slices + drink, etc). The slices are huge - they have to use 2 plates to fit them across them. They also have a special pie of the day. I believe the salad bar is new since the expansion and although I didn't have one, I checked it out and the ingredients looked fresh. The prices are reasonable for what you get. This place is known for its flavor but the pizza is extremely greasy as well as thin (which some people may like). They bring your food out or call you to come get it. I ordered take out. I should have opened the pizza box at the counter. The pizza was stretched and two slices flipped over when they put it in the box and closed the lid. Since the pizza was not round, more oval it didn't fit perfectly and folded when the put it in the box and closed it. Half the pizza was stretched to thin, like pair and was just saggy and mush. I have no idea what NY style pizza is supposed to taste like, but I'm a fan. I think the key here is the ultra thin crust that is just the right chewiness. The sauce:cheese ratio too. If you're looking for FANTASTIC pizza, don't go anywhere else! The pizza is fresh, fast, and really, really good. I won't eat pizza from any other restaurant because it's just not as good as Randy's. The garlic knots are wonderful too. I never leave them out of my order. The staff is great too. If we ever want anything a little special, they are more than willing to go the extra mile. They are friendly and really seem to enjoy their jobs. The only complaint I have is the hours of the RTP location. The restaurant really caters to the RTP businesses so they close early and often aren't open holiday weekends. read more

Of all the Randy's franchises in Durham, this is our favorite. The staff here are affable, relaxed and attentive. Location has good parking but is a challenge if you are leaving and wanting to head towards Raleigh. Our first visits we had the pizza and wings. Pizza is good, but is light on the sauce. Even with requested extra sauce, it's still sparse. The toppings and arrangements are on par with the average place and the wings are pretty average. My favorite dish, which was recommended by the owner, is the lasagna dinner. Portion is large and I can generally eat off it for a couple days, comes with a few garlic knots and a salad. The salad is nothing to write home about but the garlic knots are quite good! Soft, buttery, good punch of garlic but you won't kill any vampires or dates you're on. The lasagna is super rich, lots of flavorful sauce and was honestly a big surprise. The pizza is good, doubt you would be disappointed, but I suggest going the road less traveled here and try some deep cut menu choices! read more

They also have a good tap beer selection with cheap prices (4$ pints). Good location for those staying near the airport. Plus they deliver to local hotels. The closest taste to NY pizza for the most part on some of the pizza's. Not crazy about the BBQ chicken pizza its not even close to NY BBQ pizza. It has orange BBQ sauce, its bland looking, and tastes not so chicken and BBQ. My son loves the Don Vito. I usually get the regular cheese or pepperoni. Great customer service (should be for the prices they ask). They have dine in or outside as well. They serve desserts as well and chips to go with combos. Don't care for the cold sandwiches. The meatball sub is good. F.Fries not so great in taste. The one in Raleigh off Lake Boone Trail is also very good, but stays packed during the week. Nestled in the middle of "Fast Food Row" on Miami Blvd. across I-40 from the majority of RTP, Randy's was probably my favorite lunch spot when I was working in that area. Lunches are, like anywhere else in this area, crowded and seating comes at a premium, but turnover on the tables happens quickly as people eat and scurry back to work. For a reasonably priced slice of pie that's way better than most of the other available options around, I'll stalk a table on behalf of a group of friend with no shame. Especially because this location comes with entertainment. One of the guys behind the counter, as he announces that your order is ready over a microphone, makes his own fun. I suppose that when you're blitzed the way Randy's is at lunch time, you almost have to if you want to keep your head together. But he's a nice break from the normal exhausted workers in the nearby restaurants. read more

I've been to Randy's twice now for lunch since I've started working in the RTP area, near Miami Blvd, and have been really pleased both times. While I have to admit that I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to eating NY style slices (I use a fork and knife, instead of the classic fold-and-bite form that comes so naturally to NY natives) these pies are on point. Huge slices, not overly greasy and a bunch of different toppings to choose from. I've ordered both a slice with green peppers, and a slice with mushrooms and have not been let down in either case. Really good prices as well. I just get once slice, which is plenty to fill me up for lunch, and its only $3. Can't argue with a good lunch for under $5. Also looks like it has a good beer selection, although I have yet to indulge, as both times I've had to go back to work afterwards. But maybe that would help 5 o clock roll around a little bit faster. One thing to note is that there is limited parking, especially around lunchtime on a weekday, so try and get there and snag a spot if possible. If not, a lot of people park on the street, so I guess it's not a big deal. The line moves really fast even if its packed, so that's not really an issue either. read more

Unfortunately, this location doesn't deliver to me, but if I have the opportunity to stop by or have my roommate pick it up on the way home, I will definitely order here before Davis Dr. My roommate loves the Baked Spaghetti, which is not offered at Davis Dr., and I am never disappointed by their onion rings, pizza, ham & cheese subs, chicken parmesan, or baked ziti.
