DiCara's is one of the few Italian delis in the Reading area and is quite good. They have a decent…read morevariety of deli meats & cheeses and will make sandwiches and subs to order. I usually get an American or Italian sub and they tend to be excellent, well-stuffed with the good meats, and on nice firm sub rolls. A reviewer claimed the rolls are old but I've never once gotten a stale one. It's possible the reviewer confused good crunchy Italian rolls with day-old rolls. As a connoisseur of good Italian bread, I look for rolls that are crunchy outside and firm inside and DiCara's are exactly that. They have a friendly staff who make the subs very quickly and never make a mistake on the order. The store has a lot of other food, for example, olive salads and tuna salad which my Mom liked. Also sometimes, you can find various cuttings left over from when the salami sticks near their end sealed up in plastic. Yum! They also have a number of imported products (not all from Italy). I like their imported pastas such as the big Rigatoni and Fusilli. They have some spices too--I always get the Rosemary from Cento. Oddly, they also have an excellent variety of potato chip brands--Utz, Cape Cod, Wachusett, Zapp's, Dirty, and sometimes Wise. Finally, they carry some nice cupcakes & desserts from nearby bakeries.

I arrived at 11:55 and the sub was waiting. When I got it home, I was so disappointed. The bread was very hard, to the point of being hard to chew. Also, the turkey was overcooked with very dry and almost burnt ends and the stuffing was extremely salty. I had asked for a small container of extra gravy and even adding this to the sub did not help at all. The sub was very hard to chew because of the roll and dry turkey. Luckily, I know they serve a quality product and I will return again. Everyone can have a bad day, and I guess this was theirs.

Another place that I was able to FINALLY visit. I have been wanting to try this location for a long…read moretime. It is on a great location at the corner of a busy street and intersection. I have driven thru N. Reading and past this location for many years. Saturday afternoon, I made my first pilgrimage to Ryer's! I ordered a grilled chicken with ketchup and chicken. I ordered at deli and paid at counter. I got a water and a bag of chips, too. I walked around the store a bit as my sandwich was being prepped. They have alot to offer, including wine/beer. I entered at a busy time. Alot of customers coming in after calling on the phone or ordering on-line. Much like D'Agostino's in Winchester....Business was good, which is always a good sign, as I waited for my food. My chicken sandwich was brought to my table and after my first bite, I was thrilled! The chicken was cooked well, just the right amount of ketchup and pickles! Delicious! I will definitely return. Way back when, I use to go to "Gloria's" in Winchester for an incredible grilled chicken sandwich. However, they have closed so may Ryer's is my new go to when I am looking for a chicken sandwich! Price: Fair ($15 for sandwich, drink and chips) Parking: Plenty of spots out front Vibe: Friendly and Easy-going help Pepsi/Coke: Both available Service: Reasonable....on time...not a long wait Will I come again? : For sure! 5-stars....I liked it!

Good vibes. Quick service. Food quality was the main driver for the review. Surprisingly inexpensive for the quality. Kudo's to the people that are running this place.

The corned beef is large chunks, not small diced pieces found in most commercial and canned hash. The potatoes, peppers, and onions gave a nice texture and flavor. I had it topped with two over medium eggs which were perfectly cooked. As I was eyeing the French toast, he gave me a single piece which included their fruit infused whipped cream and was really, really good! That might be my entree next time. My friend got the crepes and her face was doing happy expressions while she was eating. My new best friend Maria kept my coffee mug full-she visited the table frequently to make sure my mug never got low nor cold. She also took care to clean the table promptly as plates were finished. Now if my kids could learn that... oh wait, this is a diner review. The ambiance is cute and chic. There was easy access to accommodate wheel chairs and they have their menu clearly marked for gluten free available and vegan options (most of the menu). The menu is on the fancier side; they will prepare whatever someone wants (e.g. if someone just wants 2 eggs and bacon, they can easily do that). The location is on Main St. so parking is hit or miss. If you are nearby and want something good, this is a good option!
