They promised me they could get me a specific vehicle, I said are you positive you are going to be able to get me truck I want because I have a 5 hour RT drive so I don't want to waste all day to find out you can't get me the truck. And they yes we can get you the truck you want. So I made an appointment and went in, gave them a check fora deposit and they said we will get you the truck. Monday came and they said we can't get you the truck, it was sold, so I said that's just great, a little sarcastically of course because they wasted my whole day, but I said OK fine I want my deposit back. Now it's over a week and I still haven't received my deposit back. Contacted them again and they said it will be a few days yet. Mind you I gave them a check on Saturday and it cleared the next Monday. So they have my money in there back making interest on it while I am loosing interest. read more

He ran it so many times it dropped my credit score 40 points because of all the inquiries! His excuse was "we were just trying to get the sale through". I would advise staying away from this place. I had a tire that was wearing really bad - took it in for an appointment and was realy happy at the service that I got from the service department. Mark Stratton was very helpful and went over all the possibilities that it could be, then came back to report what the problem was. It was really nice to leave there and drive down the road again without the steering wheel shaking all over and not have to worry about the tire blowing. I bought a Honda odyssey' from them. I drove two hours to get it. Before I purchased it I asked if there was any rust. They said no rust. I asked if and smoke odor. They said no. So I bought it. When I got there I found rust in the back. I then opened the door. The smoke was so bad. The sales person then said. I smoke so maybe that's why I didn't smell it. They didn't even clean it for me. I spent 2 hours wiping and cleaning that smoked out car. Stay far away from this company. They are terrible. Also the whole time I was there. I took a 2017 Ford F150 to Rapids Ford when it started acting up they said it was a bad fuel pump and was covered under warranty then they said it wasn't covered under warranty because when the technician removed the fuel pump he obviously dropped some sand and dirt down into the tank so they claimed that somehow that got in my tank and wasn't covered under warranty and said I also had to replace the fuel tank because they would not warranty a new pump and the old tank and then it took over a week to get repaired still waiting absolutely ridiculous read more

I looked online to see what I could do about getting my boyfriend and I a vehicle knowing neither of our credit scores were the best. Looked for cheaper options and ended up choosing a few to go look at that were all with Rapids Ford. I got to talk to Ben C. over the phone alot. But what drew me in was when he called me about one I knew my boyfriend would love. I made an appointment to come in and look and a salesperson, John, greeted us right away. He helped my boyfriend find a vehicle that would work for our needs while I waited in the office, of my own choice because I was hurting trying to walk around. When we sat down to start the talking part, John did not treat me inferior for either not being on the lot as they walked around and discussed the vehicles nor for being a female (and we all know those type are out there). He treated me as a valued customer just as he did my boyfriend. When we couldn't get lending for the first vehicle we tried for, he immediately had a different vehicle that would meet our needs for us to look at. He had to do that twice before we could make one of the lenders happy and he kept good cheer and a warm smile on his face the whole time. He got us in a vehicle that night, even going so far as to stay open a little late so we could run and get the last document we needed to seal the deal. I started out very worried about what I thought would be a massive headache of going to a dealership to look at some vehicles and John had me smiling and happy to be there pretty fast. Then Ben C. was just as warm and friendly. Neither offered any promises they couldn't keep and they worked very hard to get this girl with no credit and her boyfriend with worse credit set up with a vehicle that we are happy with. Would I recommend this company to others? Find me a tall roof and I'll holler out how wonderful this company is and even toss down flyers. I received a promotional game ticket in the mail today from Rapids Ford located in Wisconsin Rapids. I know these are a scam just to get you in the door and normally throw these in the garbage, but I thought what the hell. The promotional game ticket showed that if you match 4 pink jokers you win $50k, 4 green jokers you win a new 55" 4K TV, etc... When I pulled the tabs off on my game piece, it revealed 4 green jokers = New TV! When I went to the Rapids Ford to claim my new TV, it turned out that I didn't win the new TV (surprise surprise) but won the $25 gift card instead. As it turns out the gift card really isn't a gift card, but is a stupid coupon. To claim your "gift card" you have create an online account and provide your email address (so I can receive even more spam). Once you get your "gift card" it is only good for restaurants that no one ever heard of and none of the restaurants are located in Wisconsin Rapids. The "gift card" (coupon) is only good if you spend twice its value. So in other words, spend $50 get $25 off, spend $49 get $0. This promotion is very misleading and in my opinion is a scam that should be illegal. The only thing of value I received today is knowing not to ever ever buy a car from this misleading crooked car dealership. Businesses that use misleading tactics like this aren't worthy of my business. My reply: I have no problems with the odds of winning and agree that it was clearly stated. This is what I have a problem with: (1) The promotional ticket clearly stated that 4 green jokers = win 55" 4K TV worth $1,500. My ticket had the 4 green jokers. Bought a $5,000 car and immediately discovered a serious problem on the 1 1/2 hour drive home. It was indicated by the warning lights. Since it's one of those intermittent light things, it didn't happen on the test drive. I looked it up on the Internet and it seems it's a common problem for that car having to do with the AWD (all wheel drive). The next day I took it to my local Ford dealer in Antigo. Sure enough, it's what I found on the Internet. Turns out it's going to cost me $1,200 to get fixed. I immediately contacted the seller. Of course, they washed their hands of it. This was my salesman's reply: "According to the manager, it wasnt an issue the vehicle was having when we had it here. It wouldn't be covered as something that we would be repair." The people are nice enough when selling, just don't expect ANY help if you get a car with a problem. And, considering they are a Ford dealership, you'd think they'd at least offer to do the work for cost. No such kindness from this dealership. Be warned! read more

Just purchased a 2016 Toyota Sienna from Rapids Ford. Honestly I can say I had my reservations about Rapids Ford but we had a really good experience. Our salesman Ben was friendly and kind he was not your typical pushy salesman who could care less what you want. It took us a lot of negotiation to get to a price and payment that I agreed to and he remained professional and kind throughout the process never showed even a little frustration which I appreciated. Michael in finance was also amazing just a great guy and explained everything and was so helpful with the process. Honestly the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the absolutely ridiculous amount they gave me for a trade in but that was neither of these guys decision and I'm the one who ultimately agreed to it. Either way we absolute love our new van it's perfect for our family and I would buy from them again. read more

Traded in my car for a used Silverado they had taken on trade. Had truck for 6 days. Put less than 500 miles on it. Truck motor locked up on the highway while I'm in Minneapolis for work. Stranded on the side of the road I was forced to pay to have it towed to a local Chevy garage. 300$ later they tell me the motor is seized. Had to have it trailered all the way home. Call dealership thinking they would have my back and take care of this issue. Nope. They tell me they want a $1000 deductible plus 50% parts and labor. In the case of needing a motor replaced we are talking thousands of dollars out of my pocket. Seems pretty unfair. I understand the gamble of buying a used car. But buying from a dealership should give you some piece of mind vs buying from some random private seller. I could understand if I had the truck for months but it was 6 days and less than 500 miles I drove this lemon. Called and talked to manager and he didn't change the tune on the cost. Called again multiple times. Only to talk to a salesman who said the manager would call me back. Nope. Never received a call back. At this point I'm out 20k for a truck that doesn't run. With there ridiculous deductible I might as well fix it privately for less money than they will want to charge me. Very disappointed in this place. I've talked to other dealerships and in a situation such as this they would just fix it to keep customers and keep from having negative reviews such as this. A few thousand dollars out of a dealerships pocket is nothing compared to a few thousand out of a normal persons such as myself. They have lost my business and any business of anyone that knows me. They wanted to replace outer tie rods that were not bad when I had a failing intermediate steering shaft. It is a common problem listed right in the technical service bulletins. Not only that but the service writer was beyond rude and had incredibly incorrect information. I can't imagine how anyone can trust these people to work on twin turbo direct injection vehicles when they can't even tell me how the components of a basic power steering system interact. read more

A completely misleading and false form of marketing/advertising. I am in complete agreement with David S's review. I also received the four green jokers "Winning " promotional ticket. I read the entire mailing that we received twice, and the ticket said that we had won a 55 inch 4K television, not that we had a chance to win one, or won one of the four prizes listed, but that we had won the TV period. We traveled from Rosholt, over 40 miles one way last night, only to find out that we also only received a $25 restaurant gift card, that you needed to spend other money at the restaurant to receive. I was very upset and feel the the bait and switch marketing tactics that were used was very wrong and should be considered false advertising! I question how the Better Business Bureau would find the tactics used appropriate and legal! I can definitely say that any business that used ethically wrong methods to get people to enter their door, probably used wrong tactics when dealing with customers, so I would not even consider purchasing a vehicle from Rapids Ford Lincoln, and would recommend others to also look elsewhere!!! read more
