I've been going to Chiropractors for over two decades for neck and back issues. Since we own a home in the desert and in Michigan, it took awhile to find them in both states to meet my needs. Initially, I went to pick up supplements at Thrive Wellness Center and while waiting, overheard numerous patients rave about how good Dr. Rappe was as a Chiropractor. I was content with my Chiropractor and quite honestly, felt a little guilty asking if Dr. Rappe had an available appointment. The first MAJOR difference I experienced was a drop-down section on the table which allowed space for "what my Mama gave me". That in itself called for an internal Hallelujah. Then, the section where you put your face in, was adjusted to angle UP! In less than a minute, Dr. Rappe not only aligned my back in places I don't think have ever cracked before, I did NOT have to lay on my back in the traditional and quite awkward position.... cross my arms, bend one leg up & roll to one side. Neck alignment was typical and provided instant relief. When offered therapy on my back, I declined. Doc did NOT pressure me into doing it and respected my decision. Obviously, I was more than satisfied with my impromptu appointment and will be seeking his expertise for monthly adjustments. read more

The patients leaving 5 stars must have had better insurance than I did. One of the 1st things that he said to me was what awful insurance I had. He repeated it on just about every visit. I kept wanting the visits to be more productive, so paid for the add ons. Without the add ons he would only used a hand held massager on my back for approx. 4 minutes, and sent me on me way. This happened twice and then I decided he wasn't the "doctor" for me. He was probably glad that I stopped going since my insurance was so awful. He was also heavy on adding on additional services. Got a pinched sciatic nerve I went to urgent care who just gave me a shot of steroids and said it'll get better after a week or two I decided to go to see the chiropractor, after explaining my symptoms and giving me a exam Dr Rappe advised me that he wouldn't work on me until I got x-rays just in case there was a back injury. Dr Rappe nicest guy around, I have seeing Dr Rappe over a decade, if I needed a adjustment, walk in the office, wait for 20 min, then I am done. A month ago, I sneezed and my lower back went into a spasm, the degree of pain was 1-10 mine was a 9. Went to urgent care medical doctor treated me and prescribe steroids and inflammatory pills, the next day made a appointment to see Dr Rappe, his friendly face, made the adjustment and heard all the popping sound, it felt good, slight relieve. For the next 2 1/2 weeks and lots of ice packing and adjustment. Now I am now 95 percent pain free might come back for a couple more times for adjustment then that should be it, hopefully no more sneezing like that again. Thanks a bunch Doc. On a positive note, I attended one of Dr. Rappe's seminars about alternative and natural remedies to medication. I was very impressed with his knowledge and presentation. After the presentation, Dr. Rappe's wife came around the table with a sheet to make an appointment for a consultation at a reduced rate. I was going to sign up for the consultation, as I wish to get off my medications, but had some questions about the herbal supplements he offers in his program. I have been taking another herbal supplement and explained to Dr. Rappe's wife that I would have to take those supplements instead of the ones offered in the program. I could tell that my need to take other supplements did not sit well with Dr. Rappe's wife. She asked me "why did I come here?" I said that I wanted to see what Dr. Rappe had to offer. After a few more words were exchanged, she told me that "I should listen to what my original practitioner had to say" and abruptly turned her back on me. I got up from my seat, said "thank you" and left. I am in the customer service business and found her attitude to be very poor and unprofessional. If she had addressed my concerns in a courteous and appropriate manner, I would have signed for the consultation. read more

I went to see Dr, Grey Rappe after reading a paid advertisement article written about him in a local community newspaper. In the article, it said that Dr. Rappe was the only doctor in all of Coachella Valley that was using a high powered 30 watt Laser and that he was highly knowledgeable and trained in that specialty. It even offered a "free consultation". I was skeptical and a bit leery of a doctor offering a "free consultation" but I was in pain and having trouble moving my right arm. I had been diagnosed with lateral Epicondylitis or Tennis Elbow and I also had Plantar Fasciitis of the left foot which I had previously seen a sports medicine doctor, podiatrist, physical therapist and acupuncturist for. In fact, I had just had xrays and an MRI done at the hospital. I had those X ray's and MRI made available to Dr. Rappe's and was surprised when he didn't even discuss them with me during our initial and only consultation. Instead, the good doctor only spoke about how successful his laser treatments were for so many others with my conditions, so I hesitantly decided to try. The reason I say hesitantly, is because I didn't personally know the doctor and the treatments were very expensive. $75.00 for 10 minutes of laser and I needed two areas of treatment which meant $150.00 per visit and this was presented to me as being half off or a 50% off special. Since then,I have noticed that his office is always running that "Quote Unquote Special". I was also taken aback when they required me to pay for all services up front. I had never been asked to pay upfront before by any other doctor, but I had faith they were going to be able to help me and I was in a tremendous amount of pain. I received my first treatment the following day and I was surprised to see a young woman administering the laser work. She assured me that she had been trained to do so, but I was still surprised as I had thought for the price I was paying, this treatment would be administered from Dr. Rappe himself. Each time I came for treatment, she asked me how my pain level was in both areas before beginning. She took notes and logged in the notes by date. I was honest with her in saying that I had not been getting that much relief in either area unless I took an anti inflammatory drug called Diclofenec. After about the fifth treatment, I expressed concern with her that I felt I should be receiving more pain relief. She asked if I had been icing and resting both areas and I stated that I was following the treatment protocol. I asked if I could speak with Dr. Rappe whom I had not seen since my initial consultation. Instead, I was given a 10 minute conversation with his wife, who is conveniently, the office manager. She offered me three more treatments at no cost to me, claiming that I just needed more treatments to feel the full effect. This equaled one hour of treatment or 3 visits of 20 minutes each. Unfortunately, even as I was approaching those final treatments I was still experiencing a great deal of pain in my foot. I then asked again to speak with Dr. Rappe, but never saw him. Finally, on my very last visit, Dr. Rappe arrived all smiles. I was about explain to him how dissatisfied I was with the treatment, but instead I felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman. He was somewhat flirtatious in nature and told me to feel his left bicep. He was acting proud as a peacock, wanting to show me how strong he was and in what great shape he was in. He said to me "Feel this muscle, if this is how strong I am here is, just imagine how the rest of me looks!". I was utterly FLABBERGASTED by his behavior. As he left the room, I couldn't believe what had just transpired. I knew he had been told about my dissatisfaction with the treatment and that I wanted to speak with him regarding this matter. I felt blown off, disgusted, even a little angry. I said to the technician, what just happened here? Is he serious? Does he always act like this? She said that "he's always is kidding around like that". To me this was no laughing matter. I felt his behavior was totally unprofessional and disrespectful, clueless in nature. He did tell me that the laser would continue to work even after my visits were completed and urged me to give the process time. I have done that over the last year and have seen little improvement. To date, my tennis elbow has only slight improvement and the fasciitis in my foot is still as painful as the first day I walked into his office over a year ago. read more

I love this place. Its super reasonable in price, I had to pay cash out of pocket because I don't have insurance...anyways, I had pulled a muscle in my shoulder. Dr. Rappe was amazing, he adjusted me, used laser on my shoulder and put me on that table to relax my muscles for $65. I felt a lot better afterwards. Then I had a massage for one hour with Jordan for $45. She is the best masseuse I have ever gone to. It was just the right pressure, got into my knots and helped me to work out the kinks, and I did not get sick afterwards! (I drank a lot of water too) She was very helpful and the doctor was patient and answered all my questions. I feel as good as new. I have been to many Chiropractors since 1978. When I find a Great Chiropractor, I stay with them. We moved back to the Desert May 2017. Someone in Heritage Palms recommended Dr Rappe. I went to him and was so happy with his technique of adjusting. Using an activator instead of manipulating the spine with his hands. Dr Rappe is friendly and always has a smile on his face. In this day and time of Doctors being careful of how they treat a patient. Sometimes misconstrued as too friendly. I love the caring pat on the back or a hug. He is a caring and wonderfully trained in his field of Chiropractic. I have casually mentioned I have pain in all my joints twenty four hours a day. He recommended KappArest 2pills twice a day. A few days after taking my joint pain is gone. WHAT? Yes, it worked for me :). Last week I mentioned that I take Prilosec for acid and that it doesn't work by the afternoon. Dr Rappe suggested a safe alternative but did not push me to try it. I eagerly said I wanted to try it. One tablet with a large meal. OMG it works, now I may try to ease off my Prilosec as it is not a good medication to take long term. I will work with my Internist before I attempt this. I am a 71 year old female who knows a GREAT Chiropractor.... KUDOS to you Dr Rappe for caring and loving your patients..... His wife is an additional Blessing to this office. I was severely scratched by a cat in September and as I showed her the scratches on my phone because my arm was wrapped in bandages from Urgent Care. She recommended that I put Manuka Honey on the scratches as it contains a natural antibiotic.....On Friday I showed her my arm and told her I took her advice about the Manuka Honey and you can barely see where the scratches were. Any time I can use a natural source for healing my body then know I am on it. Dr Rappe's staff is amazing. No matter the mood you are in when you go into this office, when you leave you will be happier and feel cared for. I filled out all the paperwork assuming its purpose was for him to read and get an idea of what's going on. Well he entered the room and said "okay what's going on" in a very temperamental manner. No hand shake no introduction. It already felt as if I was a bother. I went to speak and he rudely interrupted asking me to speak up. Throughout our whole conversation he seemed pompous and condescending. During our interaction, it completely felt like he did not care about any issues I was having and just wanted to move on with the rest of his patients. After about 5 minutes in he pretty much said I can't help you and have a great day. He promptly walked out without even a thank you for coming in or have a great day or any type of polite parting statement. This left me stunned and feeling this whole appointment was a waste of time. I must say that his staff is amazing and kind, especially the receptionist. I wish she had acquired the degrees to become a doctor since she instills a true caring demeanor. I don't know if it was just a bad day for the doctor, but after reading a few other reviews, I realize maybe I am not the only that found him to be "less caring" for some of his clients. I can say that I was not charged for the 5 min consult. That was positive. read more

Dr. Rappe is excellent and his program has helped me tremendously. When you first walk in, you scan the clinic card and this checks you in. Then you begin your session by lying on a roller bed which feels incredible. Next, electro-stim which help relax the muscles. And finally, your session with Dr. Rappe. You couldn't ask for a more affable chap. He's upbeat, positive, extremely knowledgeable, and is always willing to spend extra time with you. Very nice, spa-like office, too. I give the doc 5 stars. His wife -- the office manager -- is also wonderful and couldn't be friendlier. The only downside is a rather aloof staff with a couple of exceptions. They rarely say hello when you walk in even though there's usually several of them right at the counter. They don't go out of their way to be friendly and I've sometimes felt like a cog in a gear. (They're not nasty, don't get me wrong... they're just not very warm.) A big exception was one woman named Delaney... she was really sweet. I think Dr. Rappe needs to examine this closely and tell his staff that their job isn't simply flipping the switches of the equipment, but also relating to patients like they're living, breathing, paying customers. Many of them need to take "friendly" lessons and learn a little about customer relations. So 5 stars for the doc and his lovely wife... 2 stars for the generally impersonal and robotic staff. NOTE: I always hope my reviews will encourage business owners to improve their operations. Therefore I'll be sure to update this review should things change for the better.
