I was referred to CV Orthotics and Prosthetics after I had amputation surgery and needed to get a prosthetic leg. Jose Ledezma, one of their prosthetists, visited me while I was still recovering in Vibra Rehabilitation Hospital. On the first visit Jose inspected my stump, took measurements for casting and provided me with extra shrinkers and socks. He said he would come back in 2-3 days to cast my first socket. I remember thinking that nobody works that fast but if he returned within a week or two I would be happy. Jose's word is as good as gold because 3 days later he was back in my room making a cast for my first prosthetic. What was even more amazing was I had my new leg later that same day. Jose was friendly, patient, understanding and above all else extremely professional. He answered the dozens of questions I had and explained the process I would be going through expertly and in a way I could understand easily. I'm home now and learning how to walk again using my new leg. There is a steep learning curve and I frequently have questions. Jose has always made himself available to answer those questions and to offer his support and advice. I called the office on Thursday July 29 and asked if they could squeeze me in same day because I felt like I needed an adjustment. They were able to see me and when I told Jose what my concern was he said he saw it immediately and proceeded to fix the (minor) issue in about 5 minutes. As I test walked around his treatment room Jose offered encouragement and some good conversation while making a few more minor "tweaks" to my leg. Jose and his coworkers at CV Ortho have been nothing short of amazing. They have delivered on everything they said they would in the time frame they said they would and that is exceedingly rare these days. Jose and his coworkers have made this challenging time in my life so much easier by helping me to navigate through some serious issues. If someone ever had need of their services I would recommend them 100% and without any reservations whatsoever. Jose and everyone else at CV Ortho has been polite, professional and understanding every time I've dealt with them. This is an exceptionally well run business with people who genuinely care about the health and well being of others. I could not be any happier with their business and particularly with Jose. First, let me say that the people at the front desk are great - very friendly. I was referred here ( now called LEGACY PROSTHETICS) by IEHP because my orthopedic specialist ordered a custom CMC (thumb) orthosis. At my first visit, I was given a prefabricated wrist brace instead of the custom CMC orthosis listed in the referral. When I mentioned it, the technician went to check the order and came back saying, 'Oh, you're right,' and asked me to return on a day when their custom specialist was available. I returned for my 2nd visit today. The prescribed custom CMC brace should have rigid reinforcement (usually a metal stay) to immobilize the thumb joint. What I received was not a custom orthosis at all, but a low-temp plastic wrist splint made in front of me in just a few minutes, with flimsy, detachable Velcro straps and no real structure. For a true custom device, the mold is typically sent to an off-site orthotics lab for proper fabrication - that did not happen here. The material is flimsy, the straps can be easily pulled off the plastic base, and the thumb section doesn't support the CMC joint the way a real custom brace should. It feels more like a temporary ER splint, not durable medical equipment. Per my research, it's a temporary wrist splint - not even close to what the Dr. prescribed. I can't wear it on bare skin without irritation - I was told I had to use an old sock with a hole cut in underneath. I pictured like high school football player. To be fair, the technician was polite and tried to be helpful, but the product itself simply didn't match the referral or my medical needs. I had an odd experience. Went to Palm Springs office for ankle brace. Picked out style and color for custom brace. Said it would take 3 weeks. 3 weeks go by and they call to say no brace. Blamed my insurance (which was already pre-approved). Say brace is now on order, but they me what style and color I wanted, and I realized they no brace was on order. They give me a temporary brace which helped. Don't know why I didn't get it on first visit to their office. FINALLY a big heavy leather brace came in. It was so stiff that it rubbed a bloody spot on my shin. And the heal was so bulbous, I couldn't get any shoe over it. It was total waste. I ended up buying a brace off of Amazon that worked better than anything they did for me. Only reason I gave a 2 instead of 1 was that the practioner was very nice. Woman behind desk, not so much. She never made eye contact. I think she was embarrassed by the bad service! read more

"After a bad experience at Hanger Prosthetic, I got a recommendation from my physical therapist. Whenever I come in, the ladies at the front desk are helpful. Russell is a great guy and orthotist; he helped me and listened to what I wanted. My prosthetic was very uncomfortable before (because of Hanger), but he made it exactly the way I wanted. Something about it made me feel comfortable and got my confidence back. He always listens, helps, and fixes issues with the prosthetic. CVOP is a great place - nice and clean. The entire team works together and stays on the same page with patients. The good thing is they listen to your needs. The front desk ladies are always helpful with scheduling and appointments. I didn't have any issues at this clinic. I wish I had come here first. I love this clinic and highly recommend it, especially Russell Molina." read more

Wonderful office. Responsive, knowledgeable and compassionate. I called the Palm Desert office this morning in a panic. My husband had extensive neck and upper back surgery and was discharged from the hospital with 2 versions of an intimidating/frightening cervical and thoracic brace. Upon arriving at the rehabilitation facility, it was discovered that a crucial piece of the brace was missing. Physical therapist called Jose at Coachella Valley Orthotics and Prosthetics (CVOP); he came that same day with the item, gave me his card and said to call if any questions/problems. Circumstances were that my husband was transferred a few days later to skilled nursing facility where staff were not at all familiar with the brace. (Not their fault, this item not often used.) So back to my call to CVOP-kind receptionist said Jose was not in the office but put me on hold to see what could be done. Russell came on the line; I told my story and begged for someone to come to facility and educate the staff. Russell said he was very busy covering Jose's cases but would come in the afternoon. And he actually came! He made several adjustments to the brace that made it a bit more comfortable-not that they can ever be called comfortable. He talked with the PT staff and showed them proper procedures for changing and adjusting the brace. So very helpful. I even got to give him a Thankful Hug. read more

This place comes highly recommended by me! I have lived with feet disabilities for my entire life. As a disabled person it's extremely frustrating trying to find a place that will make sure they take care of your needs. I've been to a few places and it would take months to get the shoes in not sure why? This place not only had them in 1week they also have a modification facility on property. The staff is incredibly nice and professional. Very clean office and rooms. If I could give 10 stars I would. We should be lucky to such a facility here in the Coachella Valley! read more

Russ Molina should be ashamed of himself for running company with such poor customer service. It's been appt two months and 4 phone calls yet I have not spoke with anyone that can help me. Your office manager Michelle Salazar refused to take my complaint call, I was told she would call me back. It's been a week and no Michelle. Hopefully my referral has lapsed and I will request a different provider. By the way I, was a returning client, with other family members using your services as well. I would give a zero if I could. They are scam artists. Because I have Medicare they charged $900 for an item that can be bought for $58. They then charged me 20% of that. $180 for an item I could have gotten online and delivered to my home for a fraction of the cost. Exact same thing. My surgeon was furious and said I was being ripped off. Insurance co. Took it in stride, because they are used to paying rip off prices. The system is corrupt and so is this company. And, by the way, the $900 brace never even fit me. read more

I would give Coachella Valley Orthotics and Prosthetics less than a zero and all that I can do is give them a negative review. I met with Jose Ledezma who was very professional and efficient. He took the mold samples of my feet for new orthotics and said their in-house lab would have them ready in 2 weeks for pick up. When I spoke with the receptionist to schedule an appointment to pick up my orthotics she said there were no appointments at any time until after about 4 weeks later. When I explained that my orthotics would be ready in 2 weeks and I really needed them to be able to walk, I was once again told that they had no appointments for a minimum of 4 weeks. When I asked why I was told I could come in to pick up my orthotics in 2 weeks the response was "who told you that?" When I suggested that my orthotics would be sitting around for 2 weeks after their lab had completed them waiting for me to pick them up, the response was "well we have to wait until there is an opening due to CDC guidelines." When I checked the CDC guidelines it mentions screening clients for Covid, distance in the waiting area, cleaning techniques, and the wearing of masks and protective clothing. The CDC guidelines do not specifically mention limiting the amount of patients that can be seen. When I mentioned that limiting the amount of patients was not within the CDC guidelines, I was told "it was not a CDC guideline but an internal company decision to limit the amount of patients." All-in-all I cancelled my orthotics order with this company, as they have given me no valid reason why I cannot come in to pick-up orthotics within a reasonable time period after they are manufactured and ready for pick-up. read more
