It had been quite awhile since I have had a Rascal House pizza and I got an offer on for a medium one item so I figured I would see how they are doing. I went to the University Heights store which is near my house. Located in a small plaza near to Cedar Center is a clean store, the decor is bright and commercial, a large service counter is on one side with a utilitarian dining area on the other side; nice looking but not the kind of place to hang out for extended periods. A big video menu board lists plenty of food, but does not show the pizza menu. Service was good, the counter man guided me through redeeming the offer and went through the pizza toppings. I ordered a medium mushroom pizza. After about 10 minutes the pizza was ready and I have to say it looked great, the pizza was fully cooked and the zig zag crust is nice looking. Unfortunately when I got the pizza home and started eating it I was disappointed as the pizza just didn't taste that good. The crust was fine, cooked nicely and with a decent taste, although a little bland. The cheese and mushrooms were there, with almost no taste. The real problem seemed to be the tomato sauce; it was very uneven with some parts very saucy and other parts with almost no sauce at all. The sauce itself was a bit bitter, with no sweetness at all, and the flavor profile was very flat, no real tomato or spice flavors. The overall pizza just was not what I want from a pizza. I have to say that I was looking forward to having a Rascal House pizza, but it was not very good. With plenty of other good pizza options available paying a premium price for a mediocre pizza is just not worth it to me. If you haven't tried this location in a while I recommend you trying it again. I had some problems a year or more ago and stopped using them, but I got an email or something from them saying they had made changes and asking me to try again. I did, and now its one of my go-to delivery restaurants again. Our current favorite pizza is the Pizza ala Greco. The difference in size between the large and medium pizzas is pretty significant especially compared to the price difference which isn't actually all that much. If in doubt, go ahead and get the large. read more

Hubby and I got a Groupon to taste our opinion having read reviews that were hot and cold. The results: Rascal House Pizza is delicious! We chose four toppings and received generous portions of large slices of mushrooms, chunks of sausage, onions and pineapple. The cheese and sauce was just right. This is a deep dish pizza, but not so deep that there's too much crust. The crust is not salty like many, so that may be what people are noticing. The counter folks were friendly. The shop is really cute. The dining area is good size and clean. A glass case holds other food options. Delivery was busy during the Browns game when we were there. My boyfriend and I LOVED this place! Cheap prices for the quality and amount of food you get. The restroom and restaurant were both very clean. I was nervous to stop in because of the bad rating, but I figured I would make my own decision on it. No idea how this place is rated so low. The cashier was so kind and helpful, and the food came out faster than I expected and HOT. I'll be back for sure. Don't listen to the old reviews. The food was yummy! Let's start there. We ordered chicken, fries and a sandwich for pick up. When i arrived, they hadn't started the order yet. Apparently, there was a miscommunication about who wad making it. However, they were kind and quick to acknowledge the mistake. Rascal House is one of my favorite pizza however this location was short to deliver the quality. The pizza I have picked up yesterday under baked. I was there early to pick up my pizza and I stated that so no rush on pizza but yet it was rushed.... The toppings were great, I just had to bake it a little longer in the oven when I got home sadly. Tried this place out on the recommendation and hype from the previous resident of my current home in University Heights. The pizza wasn't bad by any means, but I found it to be overpriced and on the small side. The crust was a little too light and airy, and the sauce wasn't very flavorful, which made me feel even more that I was paying for more than I was getting back. With other cheaper options in the area, I probably wouldn't try this place again. I wouldn't mind paying a premium if the pizza blew my mind or even just tasted so-so but was gigantic, but with small portions and so-so flavor, I can't justify the price at all for Rascal House. read more

Rascal House is open late, which is its primary draw. The cheese steak sandwich was a bit greasy, with no veggies (just some decent beef, mushrooms, and cheese). The bread was thin and crunchy, not soft. The wings were actually pretty good. Don't order from here using Uber eats. They forgot to put the pasta in the order and Italian sub had no meat. This is a place that you have to check your order or watch them make it obviously. We did get a refund for the pasta from Uber. When called the manager said there was nothing they could do about the sandwich being made wrong. Bad customer service. read more

Delivers past 10pm! Yes, they're a pizza outfit, but they also have non-pizza offerings: sandwiches, chicken tenders, chicken wings, pasta, wraps, salads, desserts. Rascal's also offers family-sized portions of pasta dinners like their Rigatoni with meatballs (serves as many as 25)! I'm not a pizza fan (unless it's deep-dish Little Star from San Francisco), so I was glad to see non-pizza options. I ordered "The Italiano," an Italian sub that consisted of capocolo, smoked ham, pepperoni, salami, onions, banana peppers, and provolone cheese. Dressed with a nice tart vinaigrette, I was fairly pleased with the sandwich. Greek salad is also fine, with fetas and Kalamatas. I've ordered from RH a few times. Last time I ordered spaghetti, pizza, a salad and a philly cheesteak sub. The pizza arrived cold. As in hours cold. The sub had mayonnaise on it. I'm not kidding. The salad was all wilted. The spaghetti was actually ok. I had a coupon for 10 dollars off the pizza but it still came to 15 dollars and the pizza was mediocre. Of all the franchise chain pizza shops, this is my go to. That said, this location is not. It's the service. Whether it's going in for a slice and the pizza is cold and the staff can't be bothered to put in a fresh while you wait, or getting ignored at the counter, etc etc... there is just a high probability of being disappointed I've encountered the owner a time or two (I assume based on the care received on those instances), but weary of taking my chances. Terrible experience. We placed an online order for delivery and the estimated delivery time was 45 minutes. After an hour and twenty minutes I called the store we ordered from to get a status update and they ensured me that the order had left and was on the way. After two hours the pizza still had not arrived. I called them again and the guy I spoke to was nice and apologetic, unfortunately he wasn't the manager as I think things would've been handled properly with him. The manager, Robin, told me that they never received the order. I asked her why then, during my first call, did someone tell me the order was on the way. She had no explanation and claimed that I must've called another store - I didn't, I called the same number. It was also her assertion that I probably ordered from a different store, but would do me the favor of checking their computer to verify this. She said she would call me back in 15 minutes. Fifteen minutes later, she called back and confirmed that the order was indeed in their system and I finally received an apology. She reviewed the order I placed, including the tip and total. I asked her if I was getting a refund and she told me that I wouldn't get the pizza if she gave me a refund. Since I wasn't about to pay full price to get a pizza delivered in three hours, I told her to forget it and take the charge off my card. Last time we order from there. read more

I am very disappointed by the quality of the food I received at Rascal House. I decided to order 10 garlic wings, pasta and fries. The quality of my food was very low. My chicken wings was soggy and cold. My pasta was cold too. The pasta looked as if someone boiled some noodles and poured a can of off brand Ragu on them. Always order the same thing on main "Boneless Wings". Did our usual order "boneless wings with honey mustard" Had it delivered. Sat at our dining table, ready to enjoy as we usual do. Open our box and see regular wings. Call the restaurant. Husband told the guy his name and that he just ordered and received our order. Told the guy on the phone we ordered boneless wings with honey mustard. Guy on other line says "yeah, I took your order. I was on the east side of town last week doing work when I decided to give Rascal House pizza a shot for lunch. I haven't had Rascal house in many moons and the reason is because the last time it was not so good. I have to say that they won me over again! I ordered a personal cheese pizza. The pizza was hot and ready when I arrived to the store and the employees were very polite and pleasant. The pizza was fantastic! Reminded me of the pizza I would get when I was little. I don't know what experience people had there before but I say try this place out again, it was well worth it! I think the new owner has the place running way better than before so check them out. I wanted delivery and didnt want to pay the outrageous fees from my normal pizza place so i decided to try somewhere new. Driving by this place almost every day i figured lets give them a shot...Here is my order run down. BBQ Boneless wings: 1 star... The chicken was ok, unfortunately they were covered in a bottle of bbq sauce that wasn't very good. It was overly tangy and had no sweetness to it. also they could of cut the amount of sauce in half and it still would of been too much. Meatball sub. Again a failure to execute a simple sandwich. The cut out the center of the roll and use it has a dish i guess. weird way to make a sub but ok.. The bread was not baked at all and very soggy. The cheese was barely melted, you could tell that either the oven wasnt on or they put it in for 30 seconds and that was it.. The meatballs were average, i want to say they were store bought but not 100% sure. Waffle fries: these were the only good thing i had. Crispy crust and soft inside. Placed an order around 10:00 pm Tuesday via the Grubhub (GH) app and waited for delivery. Less than 15 minutes after placing my order I get a call from GH saying that Rascal House does not deliver to my address. Huh? GH doesn't discriminate by neighborhood and delivers anywhere. The representative then said that Rascal House uses their own drivers, not GH's. I asked if they don't deliver to my address then why does the app say they do? She gave no reasonable answer. I informed her that Rascal House has been in Cleveland for years and has never delivered to Black neighborhoods. And had I known RH and not GH drivers did the delivering even when ordering through the GH app I would have never placed the order knowing their long-standing policy. I ordered via the GH site and assumed a GH driver would make the delivery. I ended up with no food. GH should delete RH from my zip code and all others that they refuse to service. read more

For all the years I've lived in Cleveland, I had only gone to Rascal House Pizza once or twice at most, because no one ever suggests it, indicating there are plenty of better places. One nice thing about RHP is that it's open until 2. I was there for the Cleveland Garlic Festival, instead of waking up after a nice short nap to go get a real meal like normal people, we woke up at 12:30am. Oops! Even room service had stopped serving, so we found out about RHP through the hotel front desk. It's very basic, you order food at the counter, pick up your food at the counter, and eat at one of the few tables in the restaurant. We got the Philly sandwich. Given that it's not Philly, I wasn't expecting much, but for what it's worth, at 1:30am, it wasn't half bad. We also got some wings, and they were really good. Today I order a pizza and wings at 6:40 pm I was told that I would receive my order in 45 min. At 8:03 pm I still hadn't received my order. I called back in and was advised it just had left the store. I waited until 8:40 when I called back because I'm only a 6 min drive from the restaurant to find out where my order was. The young lady who answered the phone told me to hold with our putting the hold button on so I heard her whole conversation. She stated to someone "Oh my God I feel bad her order didn't go out" and then started laughing. When she came back to the phone she said she could get it to me in 15 mins. I advised her that it was unacceptable and I didn't want old food that's been sitting there by it know being 2 hours since I placed my order. She was salient said hold on then what I thought was her came back to the phone and I asked my question agin. The young lady says to me very nasty "you didn't give me a chance to say nothing I was going to give you a $20 credit and send you the food. I asked her what was her name and her reply was "Brionna why?" I went on the ask was Why her last name? Or was that a question she said "she wanted to j is why I wanted to know her name" I explained to her because I wanted to know who I was speaking to and I would think as a customer I would have that right since she didn't give proper introduction when she took over call. I asked her for a refund she got smart again I asked her for a recite number of the refund she got smart again and told me "you slaty" and hung up on me. Never had bad food from this location, been getting this pizza for several years now the delivery is always early or on time I'm unsure why so many people had bad food hope this place steps its customer service up so everyone will want to try and enjoy the delicious food!!
