Raval is a small, intimate spot with a cozy vibe and a lively energy, but definitely be prepared for a wait!!We spent about 2 hours total there, with 1 hour at the bar and another hour at the table. Seating is limited, so patience is part of the experience. We did have fun at the bar while waiting. They had a more limited top-shelf liquor selection than expected, no Don Julio and no Disarrono Amaretto but the Fortaleza tequila was excellent and definitely worth ordering. Very clean tasting. When we finally sat, a few things on the menu stood out more than others. The bread service was good, though the "butter" felt more like a roux-style spread than a traditional butter and I wasn't a fan. The double baked potato was an absolute must-have...rich, flavorful, and honestly one of the best parts of the meal. The porterhouse, while cooked perfect, fell a little flat for me and didn't quite have the wow factor I expected but one could say that's how a steak is supposed to be- well cooked and the cut as the flavorful star. We started w/ a Bread Basket. I ordered the U10 Seared Scallops while they had Grilled Oysters. We all ordered Skirt Steak and opted to have different sides. The heavens opened up and Yelp folks sought refuge in a fancy steakhouse, as we do. We (party of 3) were pleasantly surprised to find out that it was the last day the Restaurant Week menu was available and we all took advantage. We ordered two rounds of cocktails, Lost in Tulum and Midsummer Spritz, delicious and consistent flavor/presentation. On to the food. I had the oysters, steak, and carrot cake. When I sampled their steak and charbroiled oysters during the Yelp Staten Island Bar Crawl, I knew I wanted to dine it. I came with two other Yelpers for Restaurant Week. I had to start off with the charbroiled oysters--funny thing, I don't like oysters, just the oysters at Raval! We all ordered steak, but I got fries, one got veggies and the other got mashed potatoes. For dessert, we all ordered the carrot cake with a dulce de leche sauce. For drinks, we ordered the Lost in Tulum. This was a winner during the crawl, and it was a winner while dining in. it was dimly lit, perfect for date night, or a girl's night. ​My partner and I visited on a Sunday evening and were glad we had a reservation, as the restaurant was full. It's a small, intimate space with a handful of tables, so booking ahead is a must. ​The atmosphere inside was a little dark, but the decor was quite nice and the staff were friendly. Upon arrival, there was a doorman outside, but he was preoccupied with his cell phone, so I ended up opening the door myself. Once inside, we were promptly greeted by what appeared to be one of the owners or co-managers, who then seated us. ​Our server, who also seemed to be one of the owners, was very attentive at the beginning of the meal, though he repeatedly asked us about ordering drinks. This was a bit bothersome after the first few times. He took our entire order, including our appetizers and main courses. ​After we ordered, our server seemed to disappear. He didn't check on us again, even after our appetizers were served. The restaurant didn't appear to be that busy at this point, so this felt a little strange. When we were finished with our meal, we had to wait a good while to get the bill and process our payment. ​Despite some of the service issues, the food was excellent. The shrimp appetizer was fantastic--the sauce was so good that we were given extra bread to dip in it. I highly recommend using the extra sauce for your steak as well. I would suggest skipping the clams, however. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were very flavorful. ​The desserts were decent but small and nothing special. A phenomenal, high-quality date night! Absolutely loved the atmosphere in this place. The staff were all friendly, welcoming, & attentive to all the guests. To say the food was delicious would be an understatement - we had the dry aged porterhouse for two (which was so incredibly tender!), the short rib cavatelli pasta, & french fries. My husband and I decided to close out 2024 with a good meal at the hot new Raval Steakhouse. The ambiance and service were only rivaled by the great food and good music. The decor is industrial chic, beautiful leather seating, butcher block table tops, exposed brick walls, wood lined ceiling and black metal light fixtures with edison bulbs. The music was easy, soulful classic hits by the likes of Louis Armstrong, Etta James, Michael Bubble and Frankie Valli set the mood perfectly. Now for the food! Started with the fresh made popover bread served warm with garlic chive butter topped with sea salt on the side. For the appetizer we both the crab cake served on a bed of fresh greens was melt in your mouth perfect. I ordered the Spaghetti Fra Diavolo ( yes I know I went to a steakhouse) lol. It was perfectly prepared, spicy, excellent flavor, fresh seafood and al dente pasta (chef's kiss). My husband had the wet aged filet mignon cooked medium, it's was super tender, moist and flavorful. My son made reservations online and was received at restaurant. We were immediately greeted at entrance and seated promptly . Wait staff was very attentive . My wife and I had the prix fixe dinner as it was restaurant week. They provided a full meal that left us quite satisfied . Seared scallops were amazing, hangar steak cooked to perfection, and the carrot cake with tres leche sauce was an excellent twist on traditional carrot cake. Bravo Bravo! I decided to finally give this gem of a restaurant a try! It was my husband's birthday so what better occasion to pull up! Upon walking it this place is BEAUTIFUL it's warm cozy and elegant the music selection was a mix of things but it was perfect for the ambiance. The menu is small which is great because small menus usually means better quality food. My husband ordered a smoked old fashion which comes with a little smoke show done table side very nice. The food here blew me away. Everyone ordered a different cut of steak every steak was cooked to the desired temperature requested and seasoned very well. No salt or pepper needed to be added to the steaks nor even steak sauce was needed . Let's get into what we ordered.... Appetizers: -The Scallops are made in this butter sauce that makes you want to lick the bowl. Seasoned very well and grilled to perfection. -The Ceaser salad was nice the romaine hearts are grilled and then dressed with dressing and cheese -watermelon salad is unique taste it has feta cheese chunks cucumbers chunks and a nice dressing -bone marrow waygu tartar this was the secret star on the table for the appetizers. Great flavor it was like butter very delicious. All the entrees come with either fries or a Ceaser salad . The fries are good we ordered sides for the table Sides - mushrooms had great flavor and paired well with the steak -shrimp scampi was great the freshness of the shrimp a1 -onion rings are huge I would recommend getting a Ceaser salad with the steak and ordering onion rings on the side trust me you won't be disappointed. For desert -carrot cake is like slice of loaf carrot cake that comes with a tres leche sauce that is poured on top at the table by the waiter. The carrot cake wasn't overly sweet it's ok it's not your typical carrot cake or traditional cake. - chocolate mousse was very very very rich it was almost like a fudge . If you loveeeee chocolate do it ! The service here was an amazing there was alot of attention by all the employees they constantly came over refilled water , took dishes wiped down the table in between everything. The manager is constantly walking around making sure every table is satisfied. I loved that the attentiveness they give each table is the same even if it a table of 2 ,4 or 10 . I went to Raval for the first time on a Friday night. The ambiance is romantic: dimly lit and trendy. Dress nicely if you'd like to blend. They brought out a delicious pull-apart bread at the start of the meal with a salty, tasty butter served on the side. I'm a carbie barbie so some good bread is always the bees knees to me. For appetizers we had the tuna tartare and the jumbo shrimp cocktail. The tuna tartare was absolutely perfect (I'm a huge fan of raw tuna). The shrimp cocktail was good too, but I was expecting more of a prawn considering the price. I had the halibut as my entree and it was excellent. The fish was cooked perfectly and the flavors on the plate made for a perfect marriage. For our sides, we had creamed spinach, grilled broccoli rabe, and the mac and cheese. The creamed spinach wasn't bad but it wasn't great either (I've had much better at other upscale eateries). The broccoli rabe was good. The Mac and cheese was surprising. The noodles were unlike any shape I'd ever seen used for a Mac and cheese and the flavor was ok, but not epic. I say these things about each food item because for the price, everything should have been excellent and more than one item we ordered was only ok. However, I will say that we opted for smoked old fashioneds and those exceeded my expectations. They're prepared and poured tableside. I'm an old fashioned snob; I'm well versed. The smoky flavor was amazing and the liquors were perfectly balanced. They also didn't hesitate to add muddled cherries to my cocktail when I requested them. The service was great. Nothing spectacular that would have me craving this. Felt like the steak/apps could have been better, I would give the steak and appetizers 3.5 stars. I think it's a little bit pricey, I think it should be lower since it wasn't amazing. The price would have been right if the food was 4.5/5 I came here on 12/29/25. I was really surprised with the good reviews of this restaurant. I was there about a week ago with my family. The appetizers, side, dishes, and desserts were absolutely delicious. The four of us who had steak... All different kinds... We're very disappointed even the skirt steak had no taste and the strip steaks were very chewy. The staff were excellent as was the gentleman who seated us. Ambience was top-notch. Unfortunately, each bathroom ladies and men's are one person bathrooms... hopefully the person in front of you is not spending 10 minutes fixing their make up and hair like I encountered! read more

Walked in at 6:00 pm on a Saturday noticing few tables taken. 85% of the restaurant visibly empty/available. The hostess wanted to seat us (party of 4, including 2 kids) right by the front door with 30 degree weather outside. I asked politely to be moved further back of the restaurant to avoid cold coming in as the door is swung open, and was told they were booked and all tables marked up. Which is code word for "I'll seat you wherever I want to". This inconsiderate arrogance cost her and her employer a new customer and few hundred dollars. Never got the chance to taste the food or experience the ambiance. All thanks to one person's inflexibility and consideration for new patrons especially when the place is clearly empty. Everything I tried from Chili Jumbo shrimp that had a sauce that was so tasty that you continued to dip your bread into it, to the hanger steak that was cooked to perfection.
