I read the reviews and was hoping for a good meal. I went there for lunch and there were very few people inside so I expected better. The establishment is very nice and unique. Unfortunately, the food was very bland and overpriced. Normally I would never mention the price because if a meal is good I don't mind paying. I had a very simple chicken francaise meal and my wife had a tortellini special. My wife also had the pumpkin soup as an appetizer. The soup basically had no flavor but did have a lot of texture. My chicken dish was rather small but filling. The biggest disappointment of course was the flavor which unfortunately was quite bland. There was nothing special or overly tasty about it. My wife had the tortellini that was filled with me and it was shockingly boring. They charge $32 for the tortellini meal that did not even come with a salad. So, as much as I would like to find a nice restaurant in Hawley this is not it. I do not understand those saying how good it is because not a single dish was worth returning for. read more

We tried calling several times to get a reservation Before 5, after 5..no answer. Call would go to some recording that said memory was full. After at least 6 attempts we gave up and made reservations elsewhere. We're about a half hour away and weren't taking a chance. Restaurants close down overnight around here. Too bad bc we went once and enjoyed and wanted to take others. read more

I absolutely love this restaurant, granted I have only been there a couple of times. I had a unique ambience with the bank fault and the bar. This is our second time at this restaurant and the whole experience was amazing. The ambience is beautiful. it is an old bank, in which they left the safe so it's very cool. The food is just as outstanding as I remember. Everything is homemade, delicious, and well put together. Our waiter was amazing, did not make us feel rushed, and really wanted us to enjoy the experience. He refused to even let us pour our own wine. The wine was outstanding, he nailed our palate perfectly. Plus it paired so well with dinner. I've never had gnocchi so amazing before in my life, and I've been to Italy. Wish we could support this local business, but unfortunately due to Covid safety concerns we can't. Came by here a couple months ago during the height of COVID to place a takeout order and saw the entire kitchen staff (you can see it when you walk the front doors in the the back right) completely maskless, and the bartender who was in to take our order had it around his chin. We were so uncomfortable knowing that our food was prepared in this environment that we decided not to place the order after all. Stopped in for a Friday evening dinner during vacation on rave reviews from some of the locals and was really impressed with the great atmosphere and food. We enjoyed a nice chianti and fresh iced tea. We had the mixed cheese and salami antipasto and margarita pizza as appetizers with the fresh home made bread. The chicken over arugula was fresh and light. The shrimp risotto in the Parmesan basket was very good. Our server Dawn was delightful and our host Dominick was friendly. Excellent place for a great meal. It has a very genuine European style to it. There no rush for dinner, take a couple extra minutes to enjoy the company at your table. Then food was made in the genuine Italian style, not the Americanized versions. It brought back great memories of travelling in Italy. We had Spaghetti Carbonara, Pollo Picatta, and the Ravioli; they were all good. The only downside is the Pollo Picatta was made with canned mushrooms instead of fresh. This restaurant was the most authentic Italian food I've eaten here in the states, never mind the fact that I was here in Pennsylvania! I was in Italy this summer and I felt like I was right back in Italy enjoying the same food! The chef is from Italy. All the food is freshly home made. The owner Bobby was so hospitable even tho the restaurant was closed he invited us to come anyway! We has small plates of minestrone, stuffed peppers, penne with cream sauce, tagliatelle carbonara, bruschetta, homemade ravioli with marinara. Nice intimate Italian restaurant in Hawley. You can tell the staff here really take care and pride in the food and service they provide. Food was very good. I had the spaghetti carbonara- very indulgent! The creme brûlée for dessert was served hot - which I had never had before. We had the most amazing meal! We enjoyed specials including the seafood trio appetizer and the seafood tagliatelle. The seafood was fresh and absolutely delicious. We also had the pizza and lasagna. Can not rate this on food as we stood in an near empty restaurant (2 tables) on a Friday night and was never seated. We wait for about 10 minutes while a pair of girls chatted in the back and when one finally walked out and saw us she turned right back around. I do think she was heading back to seat us but it was too late as I was walking out of the door. The Owner here is awesome. We were here during Winterfest 2015 and the Owner asked us in even though he was not open. We had different tried of wines, and after hanging here for a couple of hours, he said "no bill", courtesy of the house. We left a generous tip of course. This is an update since my last review. Ravyn & Robyn has become a go-to place for my husband and me. The food is now consistently wonderful! Service has been greatly improved since my last review, and they now have specials at certain times of the week. It's winter now, and they have been having jazz every Thursday evening for a couple of months now. The group plays a set, and then opens up to other musicians to join, so that is really fun. The owners are friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant, in our growing list of wonderful restaurants in Wayne County, PA! R & R is now open, and I'm glad it is. They seem to still have a few things to work out, but it's a good addition to the restaurant scene in the area. We came with a reservation at a crowded time. Good thing we we not in a hurry, bc they only had 1 waiter to manage the whole room. He was amazingly attentive, given how much he had to attend to (set-ups, menus, ordering, drinks, and bussing tables)! My pasta (ravioli w spinach, ricotta in butter sage sauce) was gorgeous. Creamy, subtle herb taste, wonderful homemade pasta. My husband ordered chicken franchese which was tasty but a little too mild. It came with homemade pasta - he reported it was delicious. We split a Greek salad, tasty but small & expensive for the amount ($12). House wine was average ($10). Didn't sample dessert or appetizers. Basically, the entrees were good & seemed appropriately priced. I'd recommend the pastas, for sure. In talking w the waiter, it seems they're having trouble getting staff, a problem I've heard from many restaurant owners here. A shame in a place where we hear people can't find jobs! What a gem this place could be. We walked I without a reservation In a off season Saturday night. We were seated immediately which was amazing because the restaurant was busy. WELL it took 15 minutes to get water and menus. The service people were all running around in circles getting nothing done. We noticed that NONE of the table had food. Our order was taken after about 1/2 hour after we arrived. NOW THE WAIT. it was over an hour to get appetizers and two hours before we saw our main courses. The food is excellent! The pasta was phenomenal and the Bronzino done perfectly. Can't comment on dessert because I couldn't stay awake any longer. The place is charming. The owners need to step back and fix the service and delivery issues. It's a shame because we just moved here and won't be back! read more

Spending a second night in Hawley PA is tough for vegetarians if you don't want to eat pizza for every meal. My wife and I found this place walking along Main Street around lunchtime, before they opened. We decided to try them for dinner. My wife called around 6:45 and asked about 7:30 reservations. They asked if we could do 8pm and that was great. We got there about 15 minutes early and the place was packed. The bar was empty and we were welcomed to sit there while we waited for our table. The barmaid said they were so busy that everyone was a bit in the weeds. I explained that my father was a bartender and my mother a waitress so I understood. The restaurant is small but adorable. It took much of what was left over from the bank that was there before and built around it, including the vault, which is a special seating area. The atmosphere was excellent. And the waitstaff, before we were even seated, were very apologetic about the wait. We finally were seated around 8:15 right at the rear near the vault. The hostess Christine sat is and gave us menus. Someone else brought water. Then about 10 minutes later after a few people walked by Christine asked if anyone took our orders and when we said no she became our waitress. Again she apologized for how busy and backed up they were. I mentioned we were In no rush, to take their time and worry about those who were getting antsy. We put in our orders and were plied with bread and our drinks very quickly. The soup took about 1/2 hour to come and it was outstanding. We both had the potato mushroom soup and it was so delicious I actually used some bread to clean the bowl. Our eggplant roll appetizer came out about 10 minutes later. It was also remarkably flavorful and we both devoured it quickly. Christine was very attentive considering how crazy busy they were. We kept assuring them we were not in a hurry a could relax. She seemed grateful and said our entrees would be a little bit. More bread and more water, and when our wine and beer were empty we were asked if we wanted more. Wanting to save room for the meal we declined. About 40 minutes later our entrees were delivered. My wife had a perfectly al dente order of penne alla vodka and I went for the gnocchi with zucchini in a Gorgonzola sauce. The gnocchi melted in my mouth. The food was worth every minute. The portions were nice and the prices were right. When dessert came around we were stuffed and were offered complimentary after dinner drinks. We declined but I very much appreciated the offer from Christine. She was wonderful. The restaurant can certainly use some improvement in getting food to the tables as not everyone is ok with a 100 minute meal for two people, especially if they have somewhere to go later. But we told them from the start we were in no rush and it was worth the wait. If they can improve on the issues with service that seem commonplace with all of the bad reviews there wouldn't be a thing wrong with Ravyn & Robyn. I would definitely go back next time in Hawley, even if it means I don't plan for anything else that night. read more

This is probably the best Italian restaurant we've ever been to, from New York to New Jersey and Pa. Every piece of pasta and bread is cooked from scratch fresh that morning. We actually heard the chef pounding our veal moments after we ordered it. The lamb chop was out of the world and so we the steak. I highly recommend the meatballs and fresh eggplant. The staff couldn't be nicer. Only eating there 3 times, I feel like they've become good friends. The chef has sat down and drank wine with us the first time going there for about an hour because they are that personable. We leaned they have their own garden across the street where they pick so many ingredients that day. I couldn't rave enough about this secret hidden gem. We only stumbled upon it because they were the only restaurant open late on a Sunday night (still serving dinner at 8:00.) My wife and I were looking for a nice place and some drinks. We found Rayvn and Robyn local to our lake house with some decent reviews on Yelp. The ambiance was very nice! The bank vault with a large selection of wine was a nice touch. They had a full bar with top shelf liquor. We started out with an eggplant appetizer which was very good. The sauce was very tangy and filled with flavor. My wife had some house made pasta with shrimp and garlic which was also good. I had veal parm which was so so. The cheese tasted cheap and was hard and cold on top of the veal. The veal cutlet was very small. The spaghetti tasted like it was from a box. The meal size was very disappointing. This is real Italian food. We came in with no reservation, yet we were sat down immediately. The service was good, but the food was excellent. We both ordered the stuffed spinach raviolis. The raviolis were freshly made that day, and they melt in your mouth. The ricotta was smooth and creamy, just like it should be. I will say this: the bread was miniature toasts, and it wasn't the best. Also, we had creme brulee for dessert, which was more like cheesecake due to the fact that the top was not even remotely hard. It was freshly made though, and the flavor was there. All of that in consideration, I would come here everyday if I could. We had a fantastic meal tonight although the staff was short staffed ,the service was excellent and the chef was excellent she came out after the dinner with all her work was done to meet and greet the guests. I highly recommend this upscale Italian restaurant with excellent Northern and mid Italian cuisine and excellent wine selection this is exactly the kind of restaurant and we need in northeastern Pennsylvania to compliment many of the other good restaurants we have look forward to returning there for another great dinner in the very near future. We visited this authentic little restaurant while visiting the Poconos. We stopped in and were transported back to my Nunnie and Nonno's house. Music playing, espresso brewing, wine flowing and the most delicious, yet simple food being served. The whole experience was such a walk down memory lane that it made me cry. The servers were very attentive and were constantly on the quick move regardless of what it is you asked for. The mussels were PHENOMENAL. Veal was good but salty (capers), the "ribeye" special was definitely a skirt steak not a ribeye, and it came with so much meat we hardly made a dent! Kind of felt like a waste. Caprese salad special came without dressing, and oil and vinegar was brought to the table 30 min later but obviously too late. This is our favorite restaurant and we come here every week ...at least once. It is a dining experience, not a fast food restaurant. Come here knowing that you're enjoying the atmosphere and the company you're dining with & you will have a wonderful dinner. We were very excited to try this place given the good reviews but ended up leaving disappointed. The food was okay but nothing to write home about...perhaps my standards of Italian are high after eating it in Philly/New Jersey for many years, or it was just an off night. Prices are very reasonable. The main downfall with this place however was the service. They seem to follow a more European model of service where all of the staff are responsible for all of the tables, as opposed to servers being assigned specific sections. The result was that (with the exception of runners bringing out our food) that after a server took our orders and brought our drinks our table was completely ignored for the rest of our time there. Perhaps having the table in the corner was part of the problem, but after finishing our meals we ended up waiting so long to order a second round of drinks and dessert that when we finally were able to flag down a server we just asked for our check and left. Hopefully this place can fine tune their service model going forward because it's a very pretty place in a great location and has a lot of potential. read more
