I recently leased a sedan through this dealership and the process was pretty smooth. Thanks to Aaron. However, I came back for a key fob and felt disrespected. No one asked me if I needed help. And when I initiated, the person behind the desk claimed someone was going to help me but no one came. Someone that was supposed to help, came and side eyed me and walked away. Eventually, the original man helped me and took me to parts. But that's what should've been done in the first place. I will not be taking my car here for service and I don't recommend doing so. The service center seems very unorganized. An advisor even looked me dead in my eyes and didn't say a word. Didn't even ask if I've been helped. I'd rather just fix what I need to myself, or take it to a Chevy dealer. With that being said, the car buying process was great and Aaron was very willing to make sure I left with a car. I had talked with Nick on the phone so when we arrived I asked for him. He was at lunch and the Business Manager, Franklin Randle, intruduced himself and showed us the CX30 's that were on the lot. He explained the features on the different models. Nick returned from lunch and took my son on a test drive. My son decided against Mazda but Franklin and Nick were both welcoming, very professional, friendly, warm and upbeat. If I could give them zero stars I would. I took my vehicle there about 3 months ago because I was feeling a lot of unnecessary bouncing in my suspension. I bought a 2017 camaro RS/ $35000. With this vehicle I purchased auto guard insurance. After bringing my vehicle in and describing the problem they diagnosed it within an hour and said that there was no issue with my suspension or underbody of my car. I knew this was a lie because a week before I took my vehicle to Firestone and they had diagnosed my vehicle with about $2000 in underbody suspension and arm damage but for some reason ray skillman Mazda failed to diagnose it with any issue and decided to charge me for a tire rotation instead. This location is lazy and didn't want to put in the work required for my vehicle or they were waiting for my 100000 mike warranty to end. I took my vehicle to a Chevy dealership in Carmel and like Firestone they found $1500 worth of damage to my underbody. I came here in desperate need of a car because my 2000 Subaru Forester had about had it. I worked with Zip who is super nice and just a genuinely good person. The exact opposite of what you think of when you think about car salesmen. We tried 3 different used cars within my price point and I ended up falling in love with a 2013 Chevy Malibu. It had low miles, no damage, upgraded interior and tinted windows. It drove great and I decided to go for it after some negotiations with their money guy. When all was done I walked out with a car that I love and a price I could live with. The reason I'm giving them 3 stars is because I took one of my friends there recently after raving to him about the amazing service and we were let down. All the people I had worked with had been promoted and we were paired with a man and a woman who were brand new and didn't seem to know what they were doing. They didn't have answers to his questions and the man was super pushy. He then had the new money guy come talk to us and he was loud and obnoxious and even more pushy. My friend ended up going to a different dealership and going with a totally different brand of car. Original dealer of "bait & switch" estimate for tires. Last month I blew a tire. I prefer to take my vehicle to the dealership because they know what they're doing (or so I thought). I authorized a tire replacement $280. I was really clear that I work in a jail and cannot be reached; to please call my spouse. Staff did not read that (written CLEARLY on the drop off envelope). So Jessica texted & left voicemails. She went ahead and put the tire on. I received a video of my remaining tires (which 2 needed replacing). Again, Jessica calls & texts my number instead of the one we REQUESTED. She quotes $860 (buy 3, get 1 + alignment & balance free). I call to approve it, but the price is now $1600! Jessica is NEW & misquoted. Ray Skillman won't honor the quote. Pretty shifty. If they aren't going to honor quotes, maybe Jessica shouldn't have been left on her own to do them. Ray Skillman wouldn't honor a quote they gave me. That's on them, not me. Unless they honor the quote, I will continue to tell me story. Service Department is Amazing! Just had my car in for a wind noise issue. Those simply are a tough problem to troubleshoot. The service department went way out of their way to diagnose the issue. They contacted their Mazda technical rep, searched the country for other reported issues, drove the car, made an adjustment, drove it again, made another adjustment, and finally diagnosed the issue. Believe it or not, this is only the 2nd car in the country to have this issue, the other being in California. Sure, it took a while but it was totally worth the wait. I even had a loaner for several days while they were working on it. I can't thank this department enough which is why I'm writing this review. I would trust any one of my cars to this service department! And a quick shout out to both Robin & Collin! Here's my list of awesomeness Your service department is amazing. 1. Incredibly friendly and happy to have a conversation on any topic 2. Knows their cars inside and out! 3. Answers all sorts of questions about your car. 4. Makes you feel totally welcome and at home 5. Has a loaner vehicle you can borrow so you don't work about how to get from here to there. 6. Convenient hours and convenient location (open until 6pm / right off the highway) 7. Experienced in troubleshooting tough issues and relentless in their pursuit to fix them 8. I drove in without an appointment because of an urgent need to get my battery checked. When I drove in, they explained that every bay was full, but they would try to fit me in as soon as possible. They were able to fit me in within 45 minutes, and I was out of there with a new battery in just about an hour. They explained everything in detail with me and I did not feel rushed out. The service is fine, but they overcharge on the parts. I needed another tuneup and I had to take it here to find out that the carbon needed to be cleaned out of my engine. They wanted to charge me $300 just for the spark plugs. And another $475 for a coil and the cleaning. If you have a guy that knows what he's doing and it's cheaper just use him. read more

I bought a used CX-5 from this dealer. Within the first 3 months I had to take the car back to them 3 times due to failing parts that should have been caught on a basic inspection; which was promised to me. I'm now 13 months from the purchase and my engine gave out entirely. I've been diligent with maintenance and upkeep but my car is now requiring a $9,000 fix one year after purchase. This dealership has been a nightmare to get in contact with and you have to pry to get them to help you out when things go wrong. You always roll the dice when buying a new car, so find a dealer that will be on your side - this one isn't it. read more

Very trash business overall they're no type of help at all. Had a totaled car that i purchased from them they claimed that gap coverage was provided all information. Here it is over 2 months later since then and still no full loan pay off on the account. I contact gap coverage today turns out a claim was never filed and they knew nothing the total car loss. So a claim is just now being filed and the account is just accumulating late fees and my credit score is decreasing by the day. My car is dead again. It almost stopped on my way home from work, just like it did a couple days after I got it out of Skillman. I've never had these issues with my vehicle until I took it to Skillman. I'm still having electrical issues from them messing with the wiring. Also, the dashboard light still is blinking off and on, which they previously tried to fix. Although they put in a new battery a couple months ago, I'm going to need another one now. It's so bizarre. The mechanic I took it to wasn't shocked with all the issues I've had because they told me they had to fix many vehicles after Skillman got their hands on them. Skillman did send me a check for the the service manager, Mike, called and threatened to sue me if I put up any more reviews. read more

Do not shop here, or take your vehicle here for service. In 2011 we leased a Mazda 3 for three years, Maturity date was Aug. 1, 2014. In January of this year, we were shopping around for my wife and went here since we had a good experience before. The salesman that we spoke too told me that Mazda was offering a Lease Pull Ahead (allowing us to get out of our lease early) for 6 months if we purchased a new car. I had to wait until February 1st to purchase the car to take advantage of this offer. Fast forward, February 3rd rolls around, they tell me the offer is still good, called Mazda Financial Services and confirmed the offer, and we purchased a new car. However, when we went to turn in the car, called Mazda on the 4th, they said that no such deal ever existed, and I would have to deal with the dealership. The dealership told me they would look into it and talk with the Mazda District Manager and see if they could work something out, and, spoiler alert, they couldn't / wouldn't. The following month, we get a phone call from, guess who? Ray Skillman! Offering a Lease Pull ahead if we come in and turn in our 2011 Mazda 3! So not only do these guys lie to get sales, but they can't even keep track of who they've ripped off! We get calls every week asking us to turn in the car and get a new one and then after talking to them for a few minutes, they remember who we are, and offer to try and "Work with us" to solve the issue, and never return our calls after that. So that's the end of that story, lets talk about the service department. I've taken every one of my Mazda's there for the past 8 years I've lived in the area, and every time we take them in, it comes back with something broken. One time it was the headlight, they tried to blame on us. This last time, someone must have been using the arm rest to write their notes on, and the pen broke through the paper, and wrote all over the leather, and they tried to say that wasn't them, even though you could make out what they wrote, and was clearly the guys name that worked on the car, and that what he did! So don't trust the people in the service department either. The best time, was when I went in there for some warranty work and they said they would cover a rental car since it was going to be a week for it to get fixed, and the warranty I had covered a rental car. When the repair was finished and I went to get reimbursed for the rental car, $350-ish dollars, they told me that it wasn't covered and offered me a $50 gift card for Mazda Accessories, for my "inconvenience". Long review, yes, but the thing to take away from this, Go somewhere else. Drive the extra 10 - 15 miles and go to Greenwood to get your Mazda serviced, and to purchase. Don't trust these guys, they are nothing but crooks. read more

I hate to leave bad reviews. Unfortunately I have to. I called the Mazda 800 number for recall issues. They sent me to 16th and Shadeland. I was surprised because we are closer to 96th street. I made an appointment. Anyway, we left it after hours and I left note with recall info and also for them to check out steering and brakes. I received a call later next day. They recommended 4 new tires and back brakes. I was quoted verbally on the phone without a pen to write anything down. I asked if he could email me what was wrong with the car and quote so I could discuss with my husband. I was told that there was no way he could do that. I asked if he could text. Again no. The cost was over $1000 for both issues to be fixed and I could get nothing in writing. I asked if I had to drive down there to get a quote. He said I could write down what he was telling me. Really? I told him I will take KY business elsewhere and when can I get my car. He said to pick it up before 9pm. My husband went to pick up the car at 7:15pm. No one at the dealership could find my keys. After getting several people involved, it turns out our keys were in the vehicle up on a lift. We had to drive home (25 min) and STILL have to drive back tomorrow to get our car. Ridiculous. So disappointed in every interaction with this Mazda faker. read more

Do not I mean run to go to any other service department besides this one! They're incompetent and not trustworthy at all! I took my daughters vehicle in for service back on March 20,2019 because she wanted an oil change and her check engine light was coming on! So long story short when she picked up the vehicle on 03/23/2019 we never received a receipt detailing the work which was performed on the vehicle and there was no window sticker indicating that an oil change was performed so she figured one was not done and she took her vehicle in today for an oil change and they charged her full price for something that was already performed 2 weeks ago! And they stated that they mailed the receipt last week and here it is Monday and still haven't received it thru the mail.. so I'm guessing they used Pony Express and not the USPS .. so again do your due diligence when going there for service work! So today 4/9/2019 I spoke with the service manager and she is refunding my daughter her charges for the oil change.. which is good but I would suggest that whenever you go into this location or any dealership for service make sure you get your receipt and go over the charges line by line with you! read more

Untrustworthy, incompetent, unremorseful, dangerous... this is how I describe the service department at Ray Skillman Northeast Mazda. After years of taking my daughter's 2008 CX-7 there to be maintained, I took it in and asked them to perform routine maintenance and check with a fine-tooth comb for any problems. I repeatedly told them that my daughter was going to drive this car across the country to go to school in LA. They said they changed the oil, rotated the tires, and did a full check of all systems and recommended that the timing chain set be replaced. This car has 60k miles on it, but they warned me of the horrible things that could happen if the chain breaks, so I said yes. Never mind that there was previously a recall notice to replace the timing chain for this car, but they told me it didn't apply to our car. (FYI, it did.) I needed this car to be safe for my daughter, and reminded them that she was driving it across the country. Three days and $ 1800 later I picked up the car, and soon my daughter left for California. Didn't make it to Effingham Illinois before the the car lost power due to a loosely connected battery. A kind and competent mechanic reconnected the battery for $35. Barely made it into Kansas before the noise and vibration from the rear of the car got suddenly worse. Another kind and competent mechanic said a lug nut had broken off because whoever had done her tire rotation had not completely tightened the tire/wheel. $100 to replace the wheel stud and lug nut. I hate to think what would have happened if that wheel would have come all the way off while she was driving 70mph on the highway. The kind and competent mechanic in Kansas told her it was dangerous and that she was very lucky. When I took this information back to the Ray Skillman, Patrick just looked and me and blinked and said he was sorry that had happened and he would alert the service manager. Crickets. That's all I have heard from them since. Must be a common occurrence for them to treat this matter so casually. So, unless you have s kind and competent mechanic to double check everything the Ray Skillman Service Department does, DO NOT let them touch your car. read more

You would to be a comlplete moron to even try to talk with anyone from this wretched place. Trust me, I know from first hand experience. I had a strong feeling early in the car buying process that this is one place to avoid. I guess in the end I got what I deserved for trying to save money on my new car. FIrst, this place reeks of every slimy car sales trick known. I presented my offer three times; verbally, in an email and in writing. Each time I was told my offer was accepted. Well, once on the finance guy's office, I simply was not prepared for what would happen. When I submitted my written offer, I included a check for the full amount of the tranaction. How much more clear could I have been? Apparently, these guy can't read, they can only count money. The door close behind me and the finance guy said he needed $750 to do deal. He sat squarely across from me and said that products such window ETCH must be included on every deal. That was nothing but a bold and deceitful lie. Dealers must show on the purchase contract a consistent charge for dealer prep, but products like ETCH are not part of that law. They actually forced me to sign paperword stating I voluntary wanted these bogus products. If I didn't sign, they could not sell me the car. When I pointed out that I submitted my offer three time and included a wiritten check, the guy said he didn't look at the check. Seriously, I could not make this up. I was enraged. Despite the appalling treatment I received, I was still happy with the deal. If they just could have been honest, everyone would be happy. I guess these guys, with dollar signs in their eyes, just see their customers as there next meal and have sight on long-term growth. When my nightmare finally ended, I left the showroom building, by myself, to search the dealer's lot for my car on my own. I found it in the rear of the building. Finally, when I was getting into my car to leave, I was approached by a dealer representative who asked if I wanted to go over my car's features. Too little, too late. I never have heard back from Ray Skillman Mazda. I guess it was business as usual for them. read more

The mechanics at this Ray Sillman service center are very careless ! I took my car to this dealership have some work done. When I purchased the vehicle I also bought rim and wheel insurance. I recently cracked my rim and took it to be fixed. The insurances company approved it and the rim took almost a week to be changed. During that process they contacted me to tell me that three bolts needed to be changed on my rim also. I allow them to change them and I paid for the bolts when I got there. The same day my car started to make really weird sounds. I could not figure out what it was so once I got paid weeks later I took it to another car shop to be checked out. The mechanic told me that the Ray Skillman Serive center never put the bolts that they said I needed back on my car and that my tire could have came off at any time. He stated there were only two bolts on my car and they were not tightened. Once I found out I called the Ray Skillman in greenwood and spoke to their corporate manager Brian Crowe and asked to have my money returned because I paid for parts that were never put on my car. He said he would get back to me and never did. This was very disappointing because my family and I have bought several cars from Ray Skillman and always had good experiences. Now my family and I will take out business elsewhere and I will never visit this dealership again! This very simple mistake could've turned into something tragic! They've always treated us well so we've sent many friends to go there as well. Unfortunately, my family must be very special because after sending a friend of mine in, they have completely taken advantage and screwed her over. They worked their car salesman shade and manipulated my friend into getting a car with endless issues. She's had this car for less than 90 days and the transmission is already shot. They have always gone above and beyond for me in the past, but after a phone call was made they told my friend they had no loaners and were unable to help her but that they had been aware of this transmission issue when they sold her the car.
