Finally made it here! Service was very prompt, decor is great for the street style food they serve. I'd never had true ramen before, and I think my expectations were a bit off. I had the tonkotsu ramen (by recommendation from a server) - the pork was tender and flavorful, seasoned egg was delicious and perfectly cooked, and noodles were slurpable and toothsome, but I found the broth to be kind of fishy and overpowered by seaweed flavor which I wasn't expecting. There are a bunch of other things on the menu that I'd like to try, so I plan to give it another go! read more

This...place....was.....bomb!!! Asian food, I must say, is becoming quite popular in my household, especially with the grown and sexy parents that manage to get there. This jem is in Cherry Hill and first impressions are the beautiful anime art work that you see from wall to wall in this restaurant. Just elaborate and a site to behold. Menu items that stuck out including the skewers both shrimp and sausage, baos pork and shrimp, chicken skewers. Mouth watering, flavorful, every bite of each food on their menu was hella good. This place is good for a Japanese street food/ramen fix without having to cross over the bridge. It's located in the Saw Mill Plaza neighboring a Korean restaurant and a Chinese restaurant. With the anime-themed decor plastered all over the walls, Dragon Ball, Naruto, and Fairy Tale to name a few, my middle school self was screaming. Don't be deterred by the expectation that this is a restaurant full of weeaboos, because fortunately it's not! So far, I haven't seen any while I was dining so the coast is clear. The decor gives Rayaki a unique concept that I haven't seen before in a restaurant and highlights a major part of Japanese pop culture. As for music, they played a lot of k-pop, which threw me off-guard because it's a Japanese restaurant...? Not complaining though because they played a few BTS songs which got me really hyped to eat. But that's just me. For ordering, you're given a checklist of the menu items. You list the quantities of the dishes you want and simply hand it into the waiter. I've been there a few times and their menu seems to have grown since the first time I've eaten there. There are lots of options for boba, but it was just okay. The tapioca was good, but the drink was very clearly made from powder. They do a good job of masking the artificialness of it though. Rayaki specializes in their small shareable dishes (street food style), but you can also get entrees- I'd suggest either opting for a lot of small dishes or one main dish, because the entree portions are pretty big. For apps we had the takoyaki, gyoza, and fried squid- all were very good and fresh! Loved the spicy mayo that came with the takoyaki and squid. We also had the chashu pork (braised pork belly) baos. The pork was wonderfully tender and was complimented by a sweet/savory sauce and a neutralizing lettuce leaf. As for the skewers, the chicken skewers weren't that impressive, but the bacon wrapped quail eggs were great! The egg was cooked so that the yolk bursts in your mouth, which I loved. However, I did make the mistake of eating all of the aforementioned food AND ordering the curry katsu platter entree on top of that. The katsu was great, perfectly breaded and retained its crispness even when paired with the thick curry sauce. Service was quick and efficient, but they didn't really check up on us- nothing exceptional. The restaurant takes card but prefers cash payment and has an ATM by the door- and if you pay with cash, you receive a small 6% discount. Overall, it's one-of-a-kind in this area and I highly recommend this place for a casual Japanese meal! read more

I went here because my family went without me and I got pretty jealous, but it was definitely worth the visit. I got the shoyu ramen with a side of the rayaki fries and bacon-wrapped quail eggs. The rayaki fries were actually pretty great, I just wish there was more spicy mayo all over the fries, not just the top middle part. The shoyu ramen was flavorful, the marinated egg was so yummy, and the pork chasu was tender and the three slices were pretty filling. My boyfriend got the miso ramen and loved it. My girlfriend and I were in the area and decided to stop by since we've been to many ramen places all over. The walls are covered in drawings from common animes and transformers which was awesome in my opinion. I'm not a big fan on how you order the food. It's a slip of paper and you just write what you want on it. I only say this because it runs the risk of the wait staff not giving you the attention you may need. The waiter forgot our waters because of this but I'm not such a heckler on those details. The food overall was mediocre, but a great start for anyone wanting to get into ramen. I say this because the broth and noodles aren't as flavorful as I've had elsewhere. I know authentic ramen has a unique taste and noodles texture. I ordered the black garlic ramen and my girlfriend had the shoyu ramen. We weren't too fond of charshu as it lacked the traditional fatty part and was more on the lean side, however the taste was fine. The marinated egg wasn't ass flavorful either as it probably wasn't marinated for a long period of time. The rayaki fries were probably the best part of our meal. The waffle fries were fried perfectly and the toppings really complimented each other. I would come back if I'm in the area and try more of the more unique ramen they serve. read more

Really wanted to love this place since I want a ramen place on this side of the bridge but I really wasn't wowed. It was packed on a Friday and inside it is a very fun atmosphere. I came inside pretty excited that there is finally a ramen place in NJ but I got my hopes up a little too much. I ordered a miso ramen and there was a lack of flavor in the broth and also the marinated pork was lacking meat. It was mainly fat. And the service was also slow which should not be the case because it was the middle of the afternoon and there was at most 2 tables being served. You're better off spending $5 and going over to Chinatown to get terakawa. read more

One of our local favorites and our go-to spot in Cherry Hill. This is a small, casual spot in a strip mall and it's usually crowded with customers of all ages -- even on weekday nights. The ambiance is cool, lively and fun, but between the music and the crowd, it can get kinda loud...so I wouldn't necessarily choose this as a place to catch up with a long-lost friend. Food is great and service is fast -- there's a wide selection of grilled seafood, meat, chicken, small plates, etc. The ramen bowls are excellent and large -- we always wind up taking some home. The shrimp bao bun is one of my favorites and there are a number of vegetarian options, too. Customers here place orders by checking boxes on a piece of paper, which makes things easier and faster, too. It can also be a good choice if you're dining alone. This a great place to eat. Highly recommend the fries, bacon wrapped quail eggs, pork bao buns and pork katsu. This is my exact order every time and I'm always very happy! I've tried the ramen but prefer the satisfaction of the multiple smaller dishes. For the quality of the food and the lack of flavor it would be worth $15 Max. This place is kind of schemey with the drinks, they provide you with tap water that taste worst than your kitchen sink at home so it would make you want to order their drinks. My order was input into the computer incorrectly and when I called to ask they would not refund me or correct the order I just had to order new. Then when I came to retrieve my missing items they asked if I had brought the order with me. I did not, and they said I had to return to my house and bring the items in for them to double check. Unfortunately what I think was meant to deter scammers came across coldly and as if they didn't believe me that I had missing items. Meh. Arrived at 6:30 and the place was dead empty. Should've taken as a sign. Stood in the entryway for a few minutes before someone decided to seat us, then waited another 10 minutes just for water. Then another 10 just to try and place our order. There is no clear service system in this place. Waiters don't introduce themselves, and don't seem to care about paying attention to you. However, when we finally had one young man seem to stay as our set waiter, he was great at replacing drinks and checking in. It just took until the end of the meal. We tried the steak, spicy miso, and tonkatsu ramen. All were underwhelming. Not bad, but not special enough to justify the price. Specifically, there's not enough toppings. The noodles are twisted, which makes them easy to pick up with chopsticks, but not for slurping. They all came out hot, but not hot enough. The gyoza appetizer was also just ok. They didn't seem or even smell any different than the ones you can get at Trader Joe's or another grocer. Lactose-intolerant friend ordered a bubble tea and it came as a milk tea even though only one variety was specified as milk tea on the menu. So it would be nice if they were all labeled as milk tea. Other friend ordered bubble tea with popping boba, but was served regular chewy boba. Sadly, not a memorable experience or worth a repeat. read more

My fave ramen spot in the area. I highly recommend going here if you haven't ever tried ramen. They're very good at adjusting dietary needs or spice levels for you. As a non meat eater it's always easy for me to order my usual veggie ramen with extra mushrooms or extra spice. For some people I know that tofu isn't very tasty but please give the tofu robatayaki a chance it's so so good! As a desert try a delicious bubble tea drink! My fave is the taro :) and the vibe is all about anime inside such a cool place, gotta love a place playing one piece on their tv. read more

I just happen to be driving through Cherry Hill when I discovered this gem of a ramen spot. The ambiance is vibrant and fun; anime characters on the wall, anime playing on the TVs and the staff very friendly. The Raman broth was not as rich as some I have had in the past(which I prefer). This place is great and gets my vote for best ramen in the area. The spicy miso and the black garlic are my favorites, but I've enjoyed all of the ones I have tried. The skewers are also really good, especially the broccoli (i know what you're thinking, it's just broccoli on a stick... dont knock it until you try it.) They have some interesting bubble tea flavors as well. I really like the Rose one. Their boba isnt the best I've had, but it's still good enough to get every time I go. Make sure to read specials on the chalkboard when you first walk in. They dont hand them out so if you dont look at it you might miss out. read more

On my way to the Cherry Hill Mall, my wife and I had a craving for some ramen and looked on Yelp and found Rayaki which did not disappoint. The place is a bit small but it was packed during lunch hours. My wife ended up getting the black garlic ramen and I ended up getting the spicy miso which was fantastic. The broth was really rich and the Chashu pork pieces were one of the best I've had in ramen period! We also ended up ordering the the shrimp buns which were also good and 2 skewers. One skewer was a chicken wing and the other was cubed beef with a curry flavor. Overall the skewers were good but for that price of almost $3 per skewer it was totally not worth it and basically rip-off mania! On the other hand the shrimp buns and the ramen were priced great but I'll have to pass on the skewers because the price doesn't really justify for what you get. This place is one of the best ramen places I've been to in Philly/NJ area including the Tera and Hero in Philly but without the trouble parking and traffic. I like the fact that they are open everyday till 10pm and I will definitely come here as opposed to Genji Ramen food court bar in the Whole Foods market which is t that bad but you really can't compare it to Rayaki. So overall great place for ramen and I look forward to trying there Japanese curry as well. read more
