I was very remiss; for three years I didn't go to the dentist. Finally, when a troublesome crown came out, I asked a friend and was referred to this dental office. Thank goodness! Sima, the office manager, is wonderful and caring. I had two crowns handled last year and I just had another two prepped last week. In all honesty, I have had some terrible dental work in the past, and the whole idea of going to a dentist is terrifying! But Dr. Marvizi handled my crown preparations very quickly and I experienced only the pain of the anesthetic injection, and that was minimal. Do you need a dentist? I used ZocDoc to book my new-patient appointment - I thought I was seeing Dr. Rayhan, but when I arrived, was told I was seeing Dr. Marvizi. No biggie. As with most dental offices, there's a suggestion of additional purchases/services. Dr. Marvizi recommended Invisalign on my not-very-crooked bottom teeth, but once I said this was pretty low on my priority list, there was no pressure. (Also, it's LA - I'm guessing there's a lot of people that want super-perfect teeth.) You can tell the staff makes a point of being very friendly and personable. Within about ten minutes I knew about staff members' pets, their alma maters and the career choices of the main doctors' oldest kids. ;) But hey, the chatting probably keeps my fear at bay a bit, so I can't complain. They caught a doozie of a cavity - I'm actually wondering if my previous dentist missed it (?) Anyway, when I asked if I was the "interesting patient of the day" the staff members said "Yes!" - I was sort of hoping for the opposite answer, but they get points for honesty ;) I also liked that they let me divide the bill for my inlay into two payments. Today Dr. Lahmani (different dentist within the group; he could fit me in the quickest) put a temporary inlay (sort of a small crown) on the aforementioned doozie of a cavity. It went very smoothly. If I had one major frustration, it's parking. Parking (valet) in the building isn't cheap, and metered parking is only for an hour max. Both visits have gone over an hour, so I'm glad I parked in the building's garage, though it was about $10 for each visit. Unfortunately the office no longer validates. Ack. read more

The Dentists here are awesome! Dr. Lahmani is down to earth, personable, gentle and he goes above and beyond in all he does. The offices are clean and the staff was all very professional. Other dentists make you wait forever- wait in the waiting room, wait in the chair, etc..... well, not Dr. Lahmani! This was the first time in my life that I was ever in and out of the dentist in 2 hours or less. He is pretty much the opposite of all dentists I have interacted with.....I mean that in a very GOOD way! LOVE him and highly recommend! read more

I have been going to Dr. Marvizi for more than 20 years. I am in the film business, between here and NY and whenever I am in NY, I always wait to come back here and have him do my work. He did veneers for me and they are gorgeous. He has exquisite good taste and does the most professional job anyone could ask for. The front office, run by Sima is so professional and I always know I am in good hands with all of them. Going to the dentist can be a terrifying experience, but Dr. Marvizi gives shots that you can never feel, and he is always using the highest technology in the dental world. My sister and her husband came out here from Louisiana and I took them to see Dr. Marvizi. They were stunned with the technology. Besides.....Dr. Marvizi is a fabulous dentist. He did work on Larry's mouth that absolutely transformed his smile. Dr. Rayhan is also great. She is very caring and extremely patient with you. Even though I've had every major dental procedure possible -- from several root canals to crowns, extractions, implants to an apicoectomy (look that one up for a scare) from several different doctors over the years -- dental visits are still a stressful time. Most importantly of course you want problem-free treatment and to avoid any pain, and Dr. Rayhan was perhaps the most gentle consider it careful dentist I have ever had. I LOVE this practice! It was recommended to me by a friend, after I heard from another dentist in Beverly Hills that my teeth were falling apart and I needed 10 crowns. Dr. Marvizi gave me a clear estimation of the situation which turned out not to be that bad at all. He outlined what and it what order needed to be done. And the specialists they refer me to are just AWESOME and they'll even make an appointment for you. The staff is great: Rebecca (assistant), Kim (hygienist) and of course Sema (office manager - she'll always take good care of patients). Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this HORRIFIC business. As if seeing a dentist isn't awful enough, this place made the experience even worse. First off, I got dental work done while I was pregnant, and the office knew as I re-iterated it again and again with them, as I was concerned about any medications they would give me during my procedure. But, the dentist came in and without speaking with me or really looking at my chart, came in and started administering a shot in my mouth--I made a mention about being pregnant to him...and he said "oh, you're the one that's pregnant?" WTF!!!!!!!! He then proceeded to kind of freak out, until he verified that what he gave me was okay for me to have. Needless to say I spent the rest of the appointment shaking. Then, he didn't put the medication in the right place to thoroughly numb my dental nerves, so I felt a lot of the work that he did...it was SOOOOO painful that I had tears streaming down my face. Then...they precharged an estimated amount for my services to my credit card--and then billed my insurance a lesser amount of final charges, and REFUSED to repay me the over charged amount, even though they admitted to overcharging me. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL.......STAY AWAY!!!! read more

Steer clear of Dr. Rayhan: Pain: Never had so much pain from every angle, every appointment. Exorbitant wait times, in the chair and in the office. Bad products: two crowns broke. One in the chair, and a second (different tooth) two months after cementing. Cheap material. Overcharging: Quoting one number and charging a higher one. (Even with it clear that the only reason I wouldn't go to another Dentist who was in my network was that they would match the price.) Bad fitting: Every time, three in total, the crown did not fit properly - and it was "my fault." Steer clear of Dr. Rayhan. read more

My appt was for 7:00 am. It's now 7:33am. I have to work at 8:30. I am waiting outside with the office staff who don't have their office keys. Wth? This is the last straw of a LONG laundry list of extreme unprofessionalism by Dr. Marvizi's office. I left at 7:45 when my husband returned to pick me up and take me to work. As I get in the car I noticed that it's 50°F this morning. I do NOT plan to come back here. Consumers BEWARE. read more

Beware: This is not a dentist's office. THIS IS A SALESMAN'S OFFICE! Every time you visit this office the dentist and the hygienists will encourage you to buy new products and undergo additional treatments that you may not need and that will potentially cost you far more money than you were initially told. During my first visit I was encouraged to buy Invisalign, a sleep guard, a whitening treatment, and special toothpaste. I bought the $20 toothpaste because the hygienist told me I "needed" it. It irritated my lips. No big deal. It happens. I called Dr. Marvizi and he said, "Stop using it. It doesn't make a difference anyway. Toothpaste is really just for taste at your age. The brushing is all that matters." Really? Then why did I just pay you $20 for special toothpaste? Unfortunately I didn't learn my lesson and I was talked into buying Invisalign, despite the fact that I had braces when I was a teenager and my teeth were pretty straight. Dr. Marvizi insisted that if I didn't straighten my teeth out in my late 20s, I would need oral surgery in my 50s. Talked me into it - nay, scared me into it. So I agreed to buy Invisalign. Thirty seconds later, Dr. Marvizi encouraged me to buy a sleep guard because he told me it looks like I grind my teeth. A sleep guard must be fitted for your mouth and since I had just agreed to buy Invisalign, a product that was going to alter the shape of my mouth, I pointed out that the sleep guard wouldn't fit me once my Invisalign treatment was over. "Oh yeah," said Dr. Marvizi, "we'll wait on that then." Second clue! Unfortunately I ignored it. I was told that the Invisalign process would take a total of four months. At the sixth month (it took longer because the office lost my Invisalign trays... twice!)... At the sixth month I was informed that it was now time for my retainers. "I need to wear retainers?" "Yes. Didn't we mention that? They'll cost another few hundred dollars?" Okay, so after spending $4,000 and two additional months, I learn that I have to spend a few hundred more for retainers to wear every single night. "How long will I need to wear retainers?" FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE! And in my most recent visit, Dr. Marvizi revealed to me that these retainers wear out after 4 months so I'll need to buy new ones to replace them on a regular basis FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE! I assume I'm going to be lied to by a car salesman. However I expect to be informed accurately and completely by my doctor. DR. MARVIZI INTENTIONALLY MISLEADS HIS PATIENTS AND WITHHOLDS INFORMATION. When you ask for clarification, his hygienists tell you one thing, his office manager tells you another, and eventually the doctor himself gives you another version. The bottom line is you cannot trust this man because his primary objective is to separate you from your money. You will go in for a teeth cleaning and instead receive a sales pitch. They'll use scare tactics, partial truths, and blatant lies in the pursuit of selling you a variety of products and treatments that you may not even need. read more

This was the first dental appointment I've ever had where I didn't feel rushed out or like they did the minimum to get by and bill my insurance. They were very thorough! And they didn't try to break up my fillings into multiple appointments making me have to come back a million times which was SO great (cuz let's face it - I won't come back for like a year). I love the service and attention to detail I receive at Dr. Marvizi ' office. I have been going to this office for 14 years now and I cannot even believe it has been that long. Dr. Marvizi is always honest and never sugar coats the treatment plan. I hate the needles dentist have to use to give local anesthesia and he is a master at it. They immediately fit me in for an appointment, cleaned my teeth, looked at recent X-rays, and helped me figure out what the problem was. They also helped me figure out what was causing the problem, and a solution for both the short-term and long-term problem moving forward.
