They didnt include forks or chop sticks and when i asked for a for they gave me a freaking spork.. for 3 plates i ordered. Times a re tough and this place makes it tougher. This place is such a gem. The food is delicious and flavorful, with no MSG which is a huge perk! Service is super quick and the ingredients are fresh. Definitely worth trying Raymond's veggies which are crisp and savory. The lovers prawns may be my favorite dish. I have been going to Raymond's for years, they were right near the Ace Hardware in Manor. Then they moved to Palmetto. I've always liked the food, way better than Kenny's, but not better than the closed chinese restaurant in the Linda Mar shopping center. We went there @ 8:30+, ordered food and tea. The tea wasn't close to be decent, I asked twice and finally they put more leaves in. The General's chicken tasted like they poured the sauce on top of cooked battered chicken, the deluxe shrimp and vegetables tasted the same. What leftovers we had was so bad we didn't eat it. On top of that the host, who I recognized being there for years, was constantly rushing us, you done with plate, you done with tea... we were gone by 9:15. 6 more groups of Customers come into the restaurant while we were sitting down, so it's not going to be an early night, but right up to the last minute he was rushing us. You advertise open till 9:30PM, it's friday night. Sorry to say, I'm done with Raymond's. I'll just drive to Wong's on Hillside in Daly City. Much better faire, no attitude, just not as nice looking inside, but I'll just take it To Go. Too bad, always been a fan. read more

The hot and sour soup was smokey and not hot or sour. The calamari was too fried; there was too much oil dripping from the over fried calamari which made the breading just translucent hard with oil. The crab Rangoon was the only food saving this post. For The Mongolian beef chow fun, we requested extra spicy, and it was it spicy at all. I will not eat here again. I didn't touch the walnut prawns. What a waste of a $60 bill! My partner calls himself a foodie, and liked the prawns, but I won't buy dinner from here ever again. Indeed the most consistently worse Chinese food in Pacifica by far. It doesnt get worse than this, tonight we ordered in and got old mushy broccoli and beef, horrible fried rice and they overcharged us. Wonton soup tasteless and fried tofu without any sauce. The first time I ate here I was in a big group and had a great experience. The second time I went I ordered to go and waited in the restaurant. The waitress seemed very upset that we (my fiance and I) weren't eating in, but offered us a seat. She didn't say much except "mmm" when we ordered and threw the menus over us while we sat at the table. I'm not sure why she offered for us to sit since it seemed to bother her so much. The food itself was extremely disappointing. The chicken was soggy, the soup had brown carrots, and the broccoli was burnt. Even the fortune cookies were soggy! Huge disappointment, straight into the trash. I'm not going to argue with the rude waitress/cashier for a $30 refund. This place 5- 15 years ago, tasted reasonably like mainstream Chinese with glimmers of authenticity. My meal tonight was shockingly rank amateur. Badly undercooked spicy green beans (dry sauté) with an overpowering taste of cheap soy sauce and raw onions. The calamari with black beans was mostly zucchini and shards of raw onions with a small portion of tough bits of overcooked calamari. So clumsy and inept, clearly not the work of the previous chef(s). I haven't been here since the start of the pandemic. A friend cautioned me to not expect anything matching my memories. Finally! After years of passing this place by and never knowing if we should try it and so many others going away or downhill, we decided to try it tonight. Friday's Special is the Honey Walnut Shrimp (Really good with a tempura-like batter and a light lemon sauce and no mayonnaise-like finish) Their Wonton Soup (w/ BBQ pork slices) was good and the wonton skins were thin and with decent filling. Their Triple-Crown with Scallions had chicken, prawns, and beef and was good but the prawns were a bit overdone and the chicken on the dry side. Our final dish was another beef dish: their Ginger beef, which tasted properly of fresh ginger and distinctly different from their Triple-Crown beef so there was no overlap except for there were probably too many onions and scallions on each platter. Flavors were good! Beef slices were very tender and plentiful and the portions were large. Service was prompt and friendly: the dishes came out promptly. Overall, very glad we finally tried this Raymond's. We will definitely return to try their other dishes. read more

This place was such a disappointment. The boxes were already leaking in the bag when we picked it up, and that caused a lot of stress when they started leaking on our table. The food was meh at best. I had the chicken fried rice which had practically no chicken, no veggies, and it was basically just clumps of flavorless rice. The orange chicken was okay. It had nice flavor but was somewhat dry. We were expecting a free appetizer, which we wanted to be egg rolls. But what we got were just some plain chips. So just beware that they will give you chips as the appetizer. Tastes just like the Chinese food I grew up with. Not the smelly and oily kind. But the fresh, clean, not so salty yummy dishes. Today we ordered Fried Crab Wantons, Chicken Cashew, Beef with Black Bean Sauce and rice. All were very delicious. Crab Wantons were fried perfectly with a side of the sweet and sour sauce. Chicken Cashew had zucchini, carrots and onion with the right amount of sauce. Let's just say the chicken was not swimming in sauce. Beef with Black Bean sauce was a bit salty, but that was due to the black beans. All the dishes were sautéed just right. Vegetables were not over cooked and the meat was not starchy or over cooked either. Beef was tender, not chewy. Rice is more on the dry side but with the sauce on top it was perfect. Overall, I would highly recommend this place. I had a pleasant meal and it was not too pricey. Small dining area but if you don't mind the wait it can be worth it. Dishes come out fast after you order. And since the ocean is only two blocks away, an after meal walk is great to help you along. Still want a bit more? Stop by next door at Vy's Cafe before 5 pm for an iced Vietnamese Coffee to go and your afternoon walk will be even better. Enjoy! read more

Super quick delivery! I ordered a few items, was told it would take 30-45 minutes, but heard a knock on my door 15-20 minutes later. The delivery man was very friendly also :) The only issue is the food is a little bit pricier compared to other takeout places, but the speed of service and friendly phone and delivery staff made up for it. Raymond's is in its new spot now and the dining room is so-o-o much nicer than the former hole-in-the-wall. My daughter and I went there after work on a Monday night and had a good meal. The service was a little amateurish, but the waitress explained that it was her first day as a waitress. Best of all, the prices have not gone up. I had a big bowl of noodle soup for $5.50. My daughter had Vegetable deluxe in a spicy garlic sauce for $6.75 and a side of BROWN rice for $1.50. Hot tea was free. Best wishes to Raymond's in the new location. Decided to stop by this restaurant since my friend and I were craving some Chinese food for dinner on our drive. The place is pretty small and I was a bit skeptical at first, but my stomach wouldn't stop complaining so we dined in. We ordered the fried crab cheese puffs, lovers prawns, string bean chicken with garlic, and kung pao three combo. Oh man! The fried crab cheese puffs were very crispy and the filling was flavorful! I would definitely recommend getting that. However, food came out pretty quickly so we pretty much ate everything together. Everything was fresh and didn't seem to be loaded with MSG. I really enjoyed the lovers prawns. They were a bit different from some of the other Chinese restaurants I've been to, but they were delicious and didn't last very long. This may be the last review for this place, since the restaurant is moving...far far away (ok - maybe walking distance far) from Manor Drive. I'm ok with the move; the restaurant is good for those days that are too cold and too dark to walk any further and all you really want is some cheap food, but not days when you want goooood-rub-the-belly food. The food is just "ok". We ordered mooshu pork and tomato beef chow mein...I've had better, but I've also had worse.
