Stopped by on a Tuesday night and found street parking pretty easily. It definitely feels like a hidden gem/hole-in-the-wall spot. It's a very casual, no-frills spot, but the food speaks for itself. Service was standard. We ordered the meat combo claypot and the beef stew wonton. Both were incredible -- the claypot was super hearty and flavorful, and the beef in the stew was tender and rich. The wontons were great on their own, but honestly adding chili oil made it taste even better and really brought the dish to life. Overall, a great hidden gem for comfort Chinese food. I've had their amazing Salt and Pepper wings at a family gathering before, so I wanted to check this place out in person! And the food did not disappoint. Street parking is metered, but I do believe it is free parking after 6pm. The exterior and interior are as one would expect from a "whole in the wall" spot, but the older "auntie" and "uncle" I saw working there, brought the old school charm and service. They were so kind and often were seen talking with the many regulars who pop in for a to-go order, or walking around the restaurant and laughing while customer's share stories with them. It is a decently sized dinning area with small and larger round tables that can accommodate groups upwards of ~8-9. Since it was my first time there, the auntie gave us a rundown of a few dishes and explained the "spice level" of some of the dishes we were considering. I ordered the Chow Mein (meat combination). The noodles were nice and crispy and they still had a nice bite to them even after having been covered in sauce for a while. The various proteins were flavorful and perfectly prepared. A great ratio of noodle to protein and noodle to sauce. If you love drumsticks, the Lollipop Salt & Pepper Chicken is might be for you! They are flavor packed, crunchy, and easy to eat. Yelp hours are incorrect. They close at 8:30pm, not 9pm. Therefore, I had to order to-go. For Hong Kong style crispy noodles, I like them to be crispy when I eat them. If you ask, the waitress will put the noodles on top of the gravy to retain the crispiness of the noodles in the to-go box. My tomato beef crispy noodles $13 were very good. There's a tangy taste to their tomato gravy mixed with the flavors of the bell peppers, onion and beef. Great wok-hei and perfectly crispy noodles with some charred ends. It was sad to see them mostly empty at 8pm on a Friday night. The people at Little Hunan have been very good to me. read more

I was craving some good wings and recalled seeing that this spot had lollipop chicken. I walked in shortly after opening and there was only one person waiting for takeout. I wasn't in the mood for any carbs and was just in a finger food kinda mood. Weirdo?! lol Anyways, the potstickers were just whatever. They threw the plastic sauce container inside the Togo box with the potstickers. When I opened it up like maybe 7 mins later the plastic was all warped. The potstickers were just edible. It didn't stand out or tasted like they were freshly made, but rather premade and frozen. On the other hand tho, the star of the show did not disappoint! Man oh man! Classic Cantonese. Day 3 of no power at our house due to the winter storm. Tonight we trekked over to Little Hunan on Mission -- again in a part of town that I'm not used to. We got lucky with street parking just a block away and arrived to a very cold but spacious restaurant at 7pm on Tuesday. There's hardly anyone here but don't prejudge with first appearances. The boss lady is really nice despite limited English. It helps if you can speak Cantonese. She tries to be friendly and funny. We ordered our typical favorites: Braised fish fillet clay pot $14.95 Pork chop with pepper and salt $12.95 Mongolian beef $13.95 Meat combination chow mein $12.95 Fried chicken wings $13.95 Considering we just had Suily's yesterday night, we couldn't help but to compare -- both places are really tasty and you can't go wrong with either. Little Hunan is slightly more expensive but you also get a little bit more in your portions. The food is a little on the salty side though so I would advise that you can some rice to accompany your meal. I throughly enjoyed every dish, and it really brought me back to the 90's. I asked for the chicken wings to be extra spicy and man oh man did I love eating all that jalapeño and crispy garlic. Each wing was absolutely crunchy perfection without a lot of batter. Very similar to the salt and pepper pork chop! The braised fish fillet clay pot was another knockout but it does have a lot of tofu and Napa cabbage on the bottom so be aware if you're not into that. Terrible food and horrible customer service. I went here last week to pick up food from a recommendation of a friend. When I came in I politely ask - I came to pick up order and I was greeted with an angry voice- what do you want!? So I repeated my initial statement- I came to pick up or order for... she was angry for some reason and she took it out on me say it's there and we are busy! She was screaming angrily at me the whole time. Not to mentioned that I just paid more than $400 just to be treated like this. This location is owned by a cute couple who runs the entire business. My friend called ahead of time and ordered close to opening time and they had our food ready within 15 mins. We ordered: 1. Beef Stew: Super flavorful with lots of sauce. Super generous with the meat. Beef stew is one of my favorites so I'm a tough critic. The beef was very tender and soft. Exactly what I was craving. 2. Orange Chicken: Super crunchy and perfectly fried. I thought they had closed, as I mentioned in a previous review, but a fellow Yelper let me know they were just on vacation and are now back open. So, last month, I returned to my favorite hole-in-the-wall. I ordered my usual--Salt and Pepper Pork Chop, sautéed vegetables, and shrimp egg over rice. It was delicious as always! Service is quick! I had planned to order a large tray of Salt and Pepper Pork Chop and Salt and Pepper Chicken for our Christmas family potluck, but they weren't accepting orders anymore on the 23rd due to the high volume on the 24th and 25th. Lesson learned--next time, I'll make sure to order a week in advance. The restaurant looks better! The walls seems to been newly painted, the floors are scrubbed clean, and the furniture is the same, but much cleaner. I guess the few months they were closed was a good time for some much-needed upkeep. read more

I'm going to give this place a positive review. I went in on a Saturday afternoon. A few people picking up what look like big orders and only two people eating in. I was greeted by the lady and she was friendly, took my order and offered me to eat in if I wanted. The chicken skins are way better than what you would buy at seafood city or packaged. Generous amount. The salt and pepper pork chop is bone in which is what I like and it is good although the portion wasn't as large as I thought. Came by on Superbowl Sunday and placed an order for a small tray of wings, chow mein, and fried rice. The food was ready in about 1.5 hours. I would totally advise ordering a few days in advance so you don't have to find things to do while waiting for your food order. Everything was delicious. I especially liked the chicken wings. I ordered non-spicy so that everyone could enjoy them. I would definitely try to order the spicy version next time for a small personal order after the gym. The fried rice was really amazing. The chow mein was good as well. I had so much food left order even when ordering small trays for the party. Food is good been coming here since I was a kid but I recently went to have dinner there and my cousin paid for the food and he forgot to add a tip with his card and we were already out the restaurant walking to the car and the lady came to get us all the way outside to tell us the tip was not included and for us to add a tip. I personally think that is not ok, I get it people want their tips but you are NOT obligated to tip unless it says it on the receipt. That completely threw me off because what if we only had money to eat and we didn't have anymore money to tip? I don't think that is ok for her to do that and it's unprofessional. You can always distinctively tweet her this Chinese tastes delicious in comparison to catering for 20-30 people l. I always come here to pick up this chicken for barrio fiestas ! The only thing is that when I was a teenager like 20 years ago this chicken used to be only $50 and it inflated to $71.
