There was also a red bean/mochi bread that was interesting. I probably wouldn't get this again, but good to try. I'm curious to try the other steamed buns that are $8-9/per container of four. Portuguese egg tarts were $3.75/per which is a little expensive imo. We'll be back some day.

Regular HK-style ones are just okay too, nothing standout. Not cheap either (around $3 each these days?), but I guess you're paying for convenience on the Peninsula. That said, it's not bad at all, and when you're in San Bruno/Millbrae and don't feel like driving into SF Chinatown, this is one of the better local options. Not too many solid Chinese bakeries around here, so it fills the gap without being a total letdown. Best egg tarts are still at Golden Gate Bakery in SF Chinatown--no contest. Theirs have that perfect silky, jiggly custard and buttery crust that makes you want to go back immediately. Suzanne's is fine for a quick fix, but if you can make the trip, skip this and head to GG Bakery instead. Solid neighborhood spot if you're lazy like me and want something nearby, but don't expect it to blow your mind.

What a wonderful find on our SF vacation! We were staying in the area and had just finished dinner…read more We really wanted something refreshing and sweet to drink. Yelpers directed us towards this place, and I am grateful for this community for that! We liked it so much, we came back twice in two days! Our first visit, we ordered the Sesame Fans and Chestnut Dream. We also added the Mango Panna Cotta dessert. Both drinks were smooth and nutty and the dessert wasn't too sweet but still really fruity. As we were waiting, we saw all the other waffle desserts that were coming out of the kitchen. We both said we needed to come back for those desserts! On our second visit THE NEXT DAY, we ordered the Mango Sago and the Red Rose drinks. As we had just finished a very large lunch right before this, we just couldn't bring ourselves to order any of the waffle desserts! Again, our drinks were amazing and refreshing. Parking is a bit of a pain as it is strictly street parking... making a visit challenging. Interior has limited seating but at least it's bright and airy!

I also ordered a mochi waffle because they just smelled so good in the shop. Workers are always nice here. Please clean up after yourself if you eat there.

It's a very tiny spot that's easy to miss, but wow, there are plenty of colorful flowers just outside the front door. We decided to check it out and yes, there's no place to sit inside. Order at the counter for takeout. They have a bit of regular buns as well as pies and other western style buns. They sell whole fruit cakes too. 8-inch round mango cake was $39. Chinese buns prices hovering around $3 were as pricey as the ones found in the South Bay Area/San Jose. Upkeep isn't the best though/more outdated. We purchased a cocktail bun/a mushroom & cheese bun/a ham & cheese/a hot dog bun/and a coconut pineapple bun. The 5-pieces were decent in size, but were stuffed into two paper bags for us which was quite different than what we expected. Buns made the paper bags very oily. We should have asked for a small box or something. They have good selections, but taste is average and doesn't stand out. Whole cakes look tempting though. Cashier needs to smile more. Overall, it's a tiny bakery for convenience. Not bad nor great here. I would look around for better options elsewhere.

You order at the counter, grab any open table if you're dining in, and they'll call your name when your food is ready. There are several tables available for customers who want to eat there. The middle of the store has a nice selection of Hawaiian snacks to browse, while the refrigerator along the opposite wall is stocked with drinks and a few side dishes, including kimchi, available for purchase. On this visit, we ordered the Shoyu Ahi Bowl with greens, the Hawaiian Style Ahi Bowl with greens, and the Kalua Pork & Cabbage plate. The Kalua Pork & Cabbage was the standout. It came with macaroni salad and rice, the portion was generous, the pork was tender, and the cabbage was soft, well-seasoned, and tasty. The ahi itself had a great texture and tasted fresh. However, both the Shoyu Ahi and Hawaiian Style Ahi bowls were already well-marinated, and the greens were dressed with the same sweet soy based sauce. The combination made the bowls a bit too salty and sauce heavy, which overpowered the natural flavor of the fish. By the time we finished our bowls, we found ourselves reaching for coconut water to help balance the saltiness. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. The restaurant was clean, the staff was efficient, and the Kalua Pork & Cabbage was definitely worth ordering. I just wish the ahi bowls had a lighter touch with the sauce so the freshness of the fish could really shine. We'd be happy to come back and try some of the other menu items. :)

The pantry and snack items can be pricey but, hey, they traveled far to be here for you. They've got Zippy's in the fridge! Li Hing powder and Li Hing Mui, good signs of a connection to the Islands. Their hot lunch boxes are not to be missed, including their selection of Musubi's on the right wall as you enter. Take a glance at the menu on the wall, put in your order, pay, and wait. There's some nice seating set up inside across the space. Otherwise seems like more take out. Lunch boxes come w/rice, Mac salad. Ordered to go: KAHLUA PORK - loved the smoky flavors, a tad dry but really appreciated it was not overly salty like a lot of Kahlua Pork offerings. The pickled onions was especially a nice touch and contrast to the smoky pork. The Mac salad was creamy, fresh but was missing something. I'd order this again for the Kahlua Pork and pickled onions alone. LOCO MOCO - ubiquitous beef patties, over rice, luscious gravy, topped with sunny side up eggs. My go-to fav whenever I see Loco Moco! This LOCO MOCO did not disappoint in flavors and taste but I could go with more, yes!, more of their delicious gravy! DIAMOND HEAD GENERAL STORE will see a return visit to try their MOCHIKO CHICKEN, GARLIC SHRIMP, FURIKAKE MAHI, CRAB INARIS, MUSUBIS, CRACK FRIES, and their famous SHAVED ICE! See you there!

When we first arrived it was not busy and there was no line to checkout, but by the time we were ready to checkout, the line was around 10 groups long and got longer when we were leaving. Paris Baguette is a chain bakery that offer coffees, teas and other drinks in addition to a large selection of bakery items and cakes. For bakery items, go grab a tray and tongs, then head over to the clear plexiglass cabinets and start grabbing all the delicious baked goods that your taste buds desire. I would suggest staring with walking along the cabinets to scout out the items first before grabbing a tray and tongs, otherwise you have the tendency to just keep grabbing items that look good on the first pass and then be up with too much. Their cakes look very appealing and tempting to purchase. We just ate dinner and I was too full to try one of their coffee or tea drinks. Paris Baguette is quickly expanding into many cities, so there may be one popping up near you soon. I would like to try more of their items in the future.
