Don't expect to be greeted when you walk in the door. Don't expect any of the sales people in the design showroom to go out of their way to answer any questions or to be helpful. When ordering a large purchase with a large "shipping fee" for an item in stock at another location (found out later) do not expect them to call you when the item arrives. Even the cashier was rude. Lame service from start to finish. read more

We will be using Rayo because our contractor referred us but we totally understand and agree with the comments regarding customer service and it's like pulling teeth to get any info or guidance from the employees who work there. Rude employees. No one greeted us when we walked in. We continued to shop for 10 minutes STILL wasn't greeted. Then my boyfriend had to finally walk over to an employee and ask for help and the employee appeared bothered by us trying to buy carpet. I have heard similar stories from friends that have gone there in the past. Needless to say we purchased around 10 thousand dollars worth of carpet from empire who was more than happy to have our business. read more

Local General Contractor in San Diego. I have been doing business with Rayo for nearly 20 yrs. Im severely disappointed with the recent service. David the sales clerk at the counter and Tom the manager both made it clear that a long business relationship isn't worth spit. I tried to return some self leveling material. The bags were clean and the material was in perfect condition. One sack had a small fray on the seal. How does a respectable business turn a good customers away for $18. I purchased Tigerwood (engineered) flooring from Rayo. We had it professionally installed January 2014 throughout the main level of our home. Big mistake! The floor dents and marks even after placing felt pads on the bottom of every piece of furniture (and we do not have pets). Explained our problem to Rayo salesperson he asked us to fill out paperwork. He promised Rayo would take care of the problem. It has now been two months, Rayo has not contacted us. read more

We had the pleasure of working with Taylor Laughter who was not only knowledgeable about every aspect of flooring, but she also bend over backwards to make sure we received our tile and wood flooring timely. She made herself available, despite our busy schedule. She even contacted the manufacturer and had them deliver a sample of a tile that was not in the showroom so that we could have every option available to us. I have a couple things I needed from Rayo. With the tile, I had a "situation" and Sharon Hughes went over and above to help me out. I got the tile I needed and appreciated her assistance and the good customer service she provided me. I was going to purchase my carpet and install from a large well known company, when I found a contractor who recommended I check out the carpet products from Rayo Wholesale. I found a comparable product and will be saving hundreds of dollars! The carpet has not been installed yet, should be by next week. read more

Ordered 1200 sq feet of engineered exotic hardwood, when I opened the boxes, the color just wasn't what I was expecting, was very concerned it would be difficult if not impossible to return. After talking to Tom, he agreed to accept a full return, without a restocking fee. He also helped me find the replacement flooring I needed and had it available the next day so my installer could complete my project. Definitely recommend Rayo for all you flooring needs. read more

my cabinet guy referred me here a while back and I never got around to getting the flooring back when I did my kitchen. I recently finally got the funds to finish the flooring, went into Rayo and they had a great showroom to look at, very friendly sales people and they were like 40% cheaper than the other place I got a quote from , for the same material. This is definitely a place I would recommend if you are looking for flooring, they are wholesale to the public. They don't do the installation, but I already had a guy for that so it was no big deal. Great experience from beginning to end, they ordered the material and I picked it up 3 days later when they told me it would be in, they helped me load it, and there were 0 issues with the material. read more

I'm a flooring contractor, and I work with a few different wholesale flooring stores in San Diego. I use Rayo infrequently, but I will go there even less after my recent experience. A client of mine was looking for a very inexpensive laminate floor, so I suggested Rayo, along with two other shops. He liked the floor at Rayo, so I went out to purchase it, planning to install it the next day. I'll try to keep it short... I order and pay for 13 boxes. He says they need to open a new pallet to get the 13th box, then 10 minutes later tells me that said pallet is not there. They can transfer a box from Oceanside for me to pick up the following afternoon, or I can go pick it up in Oceanside. My client really wanted to get the floor done Friday morning, so he drives to Oceanside while I install the floor. I open the box and start to install a plank. Turns out the the locking system does not match the other 12 boxes. Not even close. I call the Santee store and tell them about the problem, and I'm told that they thought all of the boxes with the "old locking system" were gone. He calls Oceanside to see if they can transfer a box with the correct locking system right away, they say yes, and it should be ready for me to pick up in Santee at 3:30. I drive out to Santee and grab the box, but before I leave I checked the box - wrong locking system! No worries though, they transferred a whole pallet of the correct stuff too. I got back to the jobsite at 5:15 and had the floor done by 6:00. So today I go back to the store to return the box that was wrong, along with one piece of moulding. I asked the guy if he could help me out considering that my client drove for 2 hours to pick up a box that didn't match the rest of the flooring, and I had to make a second trip to Santee. That's about $45 in gas, not to mention the time involved. He says he'll check with the manager, then returns to tell me that the best they can do is waive the restocking fee on the moulding (which would have been about $4). How generous. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but when you screw up and cost other people time and money, you should own up and do what you can to make it right. Their products may be decent, and their prices competitive, but a business that is willing to give the finger to a contractor who sends business their way is not a business that I will be endorsing anymore. read more

Worst customer service! I've been sitting on hold know for almost ten minutes trying to get a copy of an invoice in order to remit payment. My installer had to go here last second for a transition piece since it was the closest place to where the job was. This is very rude and uncalled for. This is why I do all my purchasing of supplies at Mission Carpet or Tom Duffy. read more

As a contractor that has good past experience with Rayo until today. I have purchased tools and materials here before and I have an account set up with them. Ten days ago I purchased a gallon bucket of 2091 pressure sensitive adhesive for a floor I'm putting in. The next morning I noticed that the bucket had tipped over and 1/2 leaked out all over the bed of my truck ( sooo nasty). I finally made it back over their to ask for a replacement bucket of glue or a discount or something for it having a faulty lid. I showed the sales rep the bucket "still sealed" and undamaged other then glue on it and explained that it had leaked out. They wouldn't do squat! I ask if they can give me something, or a discount on another bucket if the half empty one isn't enough. They said there distributor won't take it back. I mean do something. He says not only will they not help me out-- but will also charge me a restocking fee if I return the additional one. So much for taking care of their customers!! This decision was made by the manager telling the rep without even talking to me personally. This is **America** people treat people like you want to be treated!!!! read more

Very poor customer service. They just don't seem to care about their customers. I have had a bad experience twice recently. I went into the showroom to look for a specific product. I was pointed to the area it was supposed to be. I couldn't find it. I looked around to see if I could find it myself for about 15 minutes waiting for someone to come help me. No one came. I went to find the salesman and told him I wasn't able to find the samples. He had told me the wrong area. Went back to the correct area and had questions...totally ignored. Walked out after about 30 minutes more of waiting. The second time, I called to see if they had a specific sample I was looking for. Said they'd call be back in a few minutes. When I called back later after not getting a call back from them the man was very rude but said he'd call when he got around to it. I Never received a call back. Guess I need to move on! read more
