Date of visit: September 16, 2025…read more This was near some friends and they raved about the food--especially the breakfast items, which they serve all day. I should have listened to them because I went with more of a lunch/dinner type item and it wasn't made the way I asked for it. My husband also went lunch/dinner and also did not get what he asked for. Staff was frustrated and apologetic, but I didn't love the delay after a long day at work. Thankfully the second time was the charm and my bananas foster milkshake was quite good and definitely something I would recommend. A member of staff had their little one hanging around, and while I don't normally care about that, when they wandered outside and were playing a bit closer to the street than I was comfortable with, I knew it was time to go. The outdoor seating is directly on the sidewalk, so if that is not your jam, look to sit inside instead, though this did not bother me at all. Next time I come I would listen to my friends and hope for an error free breakfast item instead!

I enjoyed a NA mimosa, which if you didn't know, it looked (and tasted) just as good as an alcoholic mimosa. I enjoyed the hot honey chicken sandwich, it was largeeee, but very flavorful and satisfying. I especially loved the fries. Our wait staff was timely and kind and checked in frequently to inquire about drinks and satisfaction. It was majority of the groups first time at this restaurant, and I would personally be happy to return for a future brunch outing!

Service was attentive and the food came out fast -- both things you want on a Sunday morning when you're still in your church clothes and not quite ready to commit to a long sit. I skipped the coffee and went with the pink juice. It leaned more tart than sweet, which I did not mind, and it was genuinely pretty in the glass -- but at $9, I found myself doing the math. The menu did not specify the size, though I am guessing it was an 8 oz pour, and it came fairly full of ice. Refreshing, yes. Repeatable at that price, I am not sure. For food, I had the classic breakfast -- two eggs over easy, sourdough toast, and roasted potatoes. Simple and exactly what I was in the mood for. Hubby went with the brioche breakfast sandwich: scrambled eggs, cheddar, thick-cut bacon, and chipotle aioli on toasted brioche, with hash browns on the side. He was happy with it. The menu has a lot of options, and there are plenty of ways to upgrade or customize, though most come with an added cost. You can swap your side to fresh fruit or a salad for $1 more, which is a reasonable upcharge if that is what you are after. Worth knowing if you are going with a larger group on the weekend: no split checks on Saturdays or Sundays for parties of 6 or more. The weather cooperated and all the windows and patio doors were open. Plenty of patio seating was available when we arrived, which made the whole experience feel a little more relaxed. A solid Sunday morning stop.

I chose the daily browns... aka, loaded hash browns and added a couple eggs. Every flavor worked. The best hash I've ever had. My gripe is too much good stuff to choose.... So I'll be back.

Did you know that Blue's Egg serves a fish fry on Fridays during Lent? Until last week I didn't…read moreknow that either. Their website has a popup on the home page saying it comes with fried haddock, potato pancakes, applesauce, and rye bread, but the popup doesn't list the price and it isn't available through the online ordering function. I ended up calling in an order to go, substituting wheat bread for the rye, and also added a piece of lemon ginger coffee cake. The lemon ginger coffee cake tasted fine, but man was it dry. Like Sahara Desert dry. Maybe this was an anomaly and their other baked goods are better, but I'd be hesitant to try them based on this coffee cake. Even though the website says the side is potato pancakes with applesauce, my fish fry came with fries. They ended up being the best part of the meal, which I certainly wasn't expecting. Still, I was disappointed cause I prefer potato pancakes and was given their inclusion as an expectation. The wheat bread itself was ok, but the butter was oddly unsalted. The fish, of which there was three pieces, was battered with a hint of beer, but like the butter for the bread there was no salt to speak of in the batter. As much as I didn't enjoy the unsalted butter for the bread, not having salt in the batter for the fish managed to be more unpleasant. Maybe Blue's Egg should just stick with serving breakfast items instead of adding something temporary that they clearly aren't pros at.

The burger was delicious and super filling, I really liked the curry ketchup. The prickly pear margarita was also delicious. Parking wasn't hard to find, which is always a win. When visiting Tosa, this is an establishment one must check out. Located in Tosa Village next to…read morethe Menomonee River, we were seated in view of the train tracks and the river, which was beautiful even during a cloudy Thursday afternoon. The village itself is already beautiful, but the cozy ambience of the restaurant definitely added to the wonderful dining experience. Upon entering, you're greeted and shown to your seat. The restaurant has a huge selection of beers and drinks, in addition to the delicious selection of dishes. I had a local beer, which was recommended by our server. He explained the two beers I was choosing between, even offering a sample of for both (which was a huge plus). I ended up going with the Lowlander Oranje (which is a local beer). The beer starts off a bit bitter but settles into a clean taste that really paired well with all the dishes we ordered. They also have a happy hour during the weekdays from 3PM - 5PM, which gives you 50% off local beers. So, if you have the time, make sure to check that out. We ordered the Buckatabon Cheese Curds (a must in WI), which are made from Meunster cheese, Bruschetta Flatbread (which includes goat cheese spread), and the Mussels (served with a sliced toasted baguette). Everything was absolutely delicious. The flatbread was definitely a pleasant surprise, while the mussels were a show stealer. The baguette definitely pairs well with the mussels which sit in a delicious "broth" that is extremely flavorful. As for parking, you will have to look for street parking (2-hour parking), but if you're going during the weekdays, it shouldn't be an issue. During busier times, they do have a public parking lot a few doors down from the restaurant, which charges about $10 for the first hour and an additional charge after that. When I visit WI next time, I will make sure to stop by again to try the other local beers and dishes. 5 stars all the way!
