I went to Ray's Key & Lock just to see if they had a car fob for myChevy Suburban. My buttons were braking off and I needed a new fob. Chevy wanted to charge me $450 for a whole new fob and to program it to my car. Ray's gave me that same option for about $230 OR . . . since my buttons still worked but the SHELL was broken, they could just replace the SHELL only for $82 !!!! No need to program anything else !! This was the first time I visited Ray's Key and Lock in Walteria, Torrance California, located just beyond Pacific Coast highway after UHaul on the right hand side after you go south on Hawthorne Boulevard. Parking was tricky but we managed on Saturday to find an appropriate place for a short visit. Keys were made with a guarantee that if when tried at home any key does not work to bring it back and it will be redone. Customer service is beyond anyone's expectation and there was an immediate report established with the owner and her daughter! It was fun to be there and the free pen was a pleasant surprise. Having learned that this business is open 7 days a week it is reassuring to know that no matter when a key issue occurs there is a quick resolution. I had ordered a blank fob on-line and needed to get it programmed and the blank door key cut. Henry gave me a very reasonable quote (relative to what dealers would charge). Henry came out as agreed, was prompt, and got right to work. He didn't have me buy additional services just to pad the bill, gave his honest opinion of the condition of the locks, and I ended up just re-keying my new place (versus all new locks), and added one deadbolt, so he saved me some $$ (thank you!!). He also straightened the lock mechanism on one door so that it shut right the first time (the door blew open even when locked, and you had to really push on the door before it would stay closed). He handed me the number of sets of keys I requested, and if I have a problem with any of them, his shop is close by to fix any, but I really doubt I will need to do that. He did a fabulous job, was totally professional, and I felt his recommendations were good and honest. It's very nice to have someone close by with expertise and integrity.
