Ray I'm sure, used to care. I for one, got the distinct feeling that they are living up to their former glory and ole' Ray, if he still around, doesn't have his heart in it anymore. We ordered some ribs, a Polish sausage sandwich and sides of beans, tato salad and mashed tatos. The sausage in the sandwich was very good but prob because they didn't make it. It was dripping with a decent BBQ sauce that was clearly added after cooking. The ribs stuck to the bone and were drenched in BBQ sauce that was also added after the fact. Even the smoke felt like the meats didn't spend enough time in the smoker but were dry except to the aforementioned BBQ sauce drenching. I ordered a lemonade: best guess is that it was Minute Maid. Long road trip. After 12 hours of driving I needed a good meal that could be delivered and I was in Memphis so BBQ was a must. Ray's was nearby so I put together a quick order. My lord the food! Massive quantities of the real deal. I order the Polish Piggy platter and feasted on three different varieties of pork, chopped, ribs and a polish sausage and sides galore. The chopped is moist and has just a touch of sauce as the meat carries itself. The ribs had a good bark and were tender and that polish sausage mmmmm! I've eaten here before, a long time ago, and I remembered it being pretty good. Today I had half chicken, which took 20 minutes to get to me. I can only assume this is because they had to heat up yesterday's chicken, considering it was so dry and chewy I couldn't even choke it down. Best ribs I've ever had in my long life. Awesome smoke, great bark. Good service at the takeout window. I had the baked beans and Mac n cheese as sides. Beans were good, mac n cheese needed much more cheese it tasted like plain elbow macaroni, maybe they forgot to add the cheese to my order? I got sides of regular and "killer" bar b q sauce. f I could give negative stars I would... ordered the 19.95 'truckers special' as we are truck drivers... chef Boyardee spaghetti tastes better than this.. speghetti is literally the noodles in barbecue sauce!!! What a joke huh? The polish sausage was in barbecue sauce as well, old and burnt. The barbecue ribs? It was 730 and they close at 10.... ribs was hard and old, microwaving it under a wet napkin couldn't fix it... baked beans was the best but not sure if it's because I was just hungry or if everything else was nasty. Why would they give their self such a 'worlds famous' name? Should I have came when they opened for the day? I wouldn't feed this to my worst enemy! West Memphis should be ashamed!!!! Poor quality and fatty meat. Some of the food appears to be be made days earlier so there's that. Would not recommend.

This place blew me away very unexpectedly . We were traveling into West Memphis for the evening en route to ATX. The hostess at the motel recommended these guys and say they were good. My wife and I stopped for the night in West Memphis and decided to try Ray's. Great choice. Due to Covid-19 currently drive-thru only. The only things we would do different would be to call ahead and get Sauce on the side. Sauce is a bit on the sweet side but was very good. If you are in the area a great place to stop. Def needs some exterior and interior redesigning to make more appealing. Cleanliness of the interior really made me think 3-4 times before ordering. However extreme hunger and knowing that usually the run down spots have the best foods kept me interested. I was not impressed. They were tender, juicy and cooked to perfection We had the pleasure of meeting Ray the owner and Larry his chef. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time, Larry started bringing us samples off the menu to our delight. We also tried the pulled pork and his baby back ribs. Hard to pick a favorite meat so we will be back on our return trip. Ray's building looks like a dive inside and out. If I hadn't caught his restaurant featured on the travel channel a while back (and the help of Yelp), we would not have stopped. The greens taste like they are from a can, the green beans was not seasoned, the whole spare rib was so tuff we couldn't pull it apart it was very rubbery and not eatable it came wrapped in plastic with no bbq sauce. My wife and finally gave it a try after driving by it for years. We love BBQ and enjoy going to different restaurants across the bridge in Memphis. We are not picky eaters and enjoy all kinds of food. From my experience of the food, it was just bad. Ribs were too tough to eat and the sides tasted like they were straight out of a can.
