Brought my Cartier watch into the Highland Park store to have battery replaced....$80.00...received call saying it didn't pass water test and I would have to pay an additional $50.00 to send it to Cartier for an estimate for repair ..... picked up watch and brought it to Cartier store on Michigan Ave.... 3 days later watch is ready....passed water test and only needed a new battery.... $46.00....it's important to have a jeweler you can trust... read more

While this is a very nice store, I would not go there again... I was looking for a very special and somewhat hard to find Rolex for my husband's birthday. I called Razny to ask if they had it or could get it. With a bit of an attitude, they told me I would have to be a VIP customer first and then be on a waiting list for about a year! Really? Customer service poor. Tried to have a watch battery replaced. Informed that they had to send it out, and that I should expect about a week until we know if anything else needed attention. We were informed that they were no longer a direct dealer, but they could still handle it. Three+ weeks later I called and Harvey informed me that since they were no longer a dealer, it might take longer for them to repair (not mentioned when we dropped it off). He even went on to tell me that there is a shortage of watch repair people and that they sometimes get backed up. He would look into this and get back. Several hours go by, no call back, so I called him to find out that they have the watch in their shop, and that it was returned from the service center weeks ago. UN-REPAIRED! Never told why. Although that watch was not purchased from them, I had bought a Tag from them some years back. That was the first and will be the last purchase at Razny for my family. read more

Since they opened their Highland Park store, I have bought three Cartier watches and a Rolex Datejust from Razny. I've also purchased other pieces of jewelry from them. Since Day One, they have been professional, friendly and go out of their way to give provide the best experience for the customer. Went into the store to get my warranty card for my watch fixed. I accidentally pushed down on it and there were yellow pressure marks. Sales people refused to help me telling me they would have to send it out along with my watch to their other store There is no reason to send out a watch just to put a card in an e-reader and hit refresh When I emailed the owner, he sent me back a nasty email telling me since I didn't buy the watch from him that it must have been used or fake and that my warranty is void. He also reviewed the cam recording used that to call me a liar regarding the amount of time I was in the store. I then went to another authorized dealer (Burdeens) and they reset my warranty card, no questions asked in 30 seconds with no hassle. When I told him what happened at Razny, he was shocked. It was night and day between the two stores. I then emailed Stan Razny back letting him know that my watch as well as the card were indeed genuine. Not very customer service oriented,purchased a watch with the condition I could purchase with a different band. Stated no problem, should be here in 2-3 days. Called ten days later as I was out of the country...they have no idea what I was talking about. After holding for five minutes I was told oh yeah we did order it.. right. Long story short 4 calls and 22 days later , I returned the watch. When I'm in there I was told oh let me check again..seriously are they nuts. A waste of my time and money. Here's the kicker, bought same exact watch for 400 less. I advised them to make sure my credit card was not going to be charged for the cheap band($350). Thank you Razny Jewelers! On the weekend before Christmas my Tag Heuer watch battery died. I was leaving Monday morning on a skiing vacation. I called Cameron at the Highland Park store and she said come on in and we will take care of fixing your watch. When I got to the store Andrea took my watch and said it will be finished in 20 min. In the past when I had a proper battery replacement with water test it would take up to 2 weeks. When I returned my watch was waiting for me ready to go. I brought my GMT II stainless/gold Rolex to Razny to have it repaired. I was told that they wouldn't repair it unless I changed the clasp to an original Rolex clasp. (I wasn't aware that it wasn't an OEM clasp) The clasp was an extra $500 expense over and above the repair. I asked specifically if the clasp would be two tone to match the watches two tone bracelet. I also wanted to have the safety clasp that I currently had on the watch. They said that, yes, in fact it would. When I got the watch back, the clasp that they had supplied was an all stainless clasp with no safety clasp included. They installed a clasp that, in my opinion, is inferior to the one that I had on the watch and they mandated that it be changed or they wouldn't fix the watch. They also refused to put on the two tone clasp that they said they would put on. I feel as though I was told everything that I couldn't do and they provided no solutions to what I actually wanted for "my watch"? Understanding customer needs is not what I would consider their strongest attribute. I ended up spending $1500.00 for a repair that isn't what I asked for or wanted. Beware! read more

After visiting the watch maker's website to find authorized stores, I called Razny and spoke to Andrea. Andrea was amazing! I should have looked at the reviews before steeping into this place. What a nightmare. Saying the staff has attitude is an understatement. They are downright nasty. I dropped off three watches to get batteries and replace the band on one. They called and said 2 needed a full service at $250.00 each. I have already paid a deposit of $50.00 to take a look at them. I told them no on the repairs and indicated that they could replace the band on one with the battery. Two months later they called and indicated the watch was ready. Pick up day...... I stopped in to get the watches. The one that I gave approval on was 58$ for the new band and I looked at the watch and it as not running. I told them it is not running; did you replace the battery as requested when I dropped them off? The women working replied very nasty, you never requested a battery for the watch. I indicated that I did for all watches and she adamantly replied you did not. The gentlemen asked if I wanted to leave the watch for a new battery. I said no that I would take it somewhere that does not speak to its customers the way that they do. The women stormed off to the back slamming doors. So $100.00 spent on three watched that do not work. One would think that if a watch is not running that is approved to be repaired, they question their service! I took the watches to another Jewelers also in Highland Park. They fixed the watches in one week for $100.00 (All three). Very nice, wrote the repairs up and photographed the watches with estimated declared value on the invoice before I left. Called in two day with the estimated cost and never charged an upfront fee. They are as nice as could be. After the experience with Razny , I called the owner and got a voice mail, Left him a voice mail outlining the experience. Still one week later never called to see how they could correct the issues. DO NOT spend money at this place. One would think that a person with 4 high end watches that need repairs might be in the market for more. I am, but not at Razny. We are also in need of a lost wedding ring replacement, Shelle here we come! read more

I've had two dealings with the Highland Park Razny's this summer, and both were excellent experiences customer service-wise. The first dealt with an appraisal, and the staff from manager on down was courteous, informative, and helpful. Today I went in to get my father a new watch for his battery--a gentleman named Matt helped me out along with another associate of theirs--and they did it straightaway and at no cost. Asked for a repair estimate and appraisal on a family heirloom watch and after 5 months and a 3 ring circus of bad information from staff I ended up being insulted by the owner. This is after I dumped $7,500 on a new Rolex. Harvey in HP is a good guy but the rest of the operation is questionable! This a a fantastic store. The selection of their items is terrific but what really sets them apart is the staff. Today I went in to pick up a couple of rings I had re-sized. When I was there I noticed that my watch was fogged up. I had just had the battery changed at a different place and they did not properly reseal the back and moisture got in. Emily and Matt went to their watch specialist and ask what could be done. He could remedy the problem and did that while they showed me some of the new items in the store.
