BEST I'VE EVER BEEN TO. Suzanne the owner is a rare find. I have to share why i will always come to Razors Edge. First of all they consistently give GREAT haircuts. However, what i found sets them apart is the fact that they are a rare combination of quality and truly caring people, a real barber shop, where you feel at home. I made the mistake of bringing in my 4 year old son on a Saturday recently to get our haircut together. He was excited about getting his haircut with Dad at the "grown up place" all week. Suzanne and Ramsey both setup an appt for me and my boy at 3pm on Saturday. When we got there they already had cartoons on the tv and a chair ready just for him. I could tell it was their last appt of the day and they were staying extra just for us to make it special. Well...as bad as my son wanted to go with Dad, once we got there, he was just too scared to do it. It was my fault for trying to push him but the little guy was really scared and crying. We tried hard but it was clear it wasn't going to happen. Both Ramsey and Suzanne were beyond understanding during a situation that had to be disappointing to them also and they tried everything to get him comfortable, and they certainly didn't have to. We ended up leaving without the haircut and they insisted we not pay then they gave my son a candy sucker to make him feel better. I don't know of any place in this day and age, barber shop or storefront that would have been so understanding and so caring. You just don't find that type of place anymore. I was looking for a new barber in the Conejo Valley since we moved. Finding good barber shops is always difficult because a bad haircut lasts til it grows out. I heard from a buddy that he loved Razors Edge and they even give you a brew and the remote control to watch directv during your cut. I called and was given an appt same day. I showed up and it was a tiny little spot but Suzanne and Nedra were really friendly and made me feel comfortable right off the bat. Suzanne the owner cut my hair and did a great job. My grandfather was a barber. His father was a barber. My grandfather left elementary school early and started cutting hair when he was a child, standing on a milk crate. Super old school. I grew up in his barber shop so I truly know what a real barber is. That's all he knew and he was a master at his craft. He died years ago, and I have been trying to find a real barber for a long time. Too often, I've wandered into a "barber shop" only to realize it was a trendy old school looking place, but the "barber" had no real skill and no pride in their work. I moved to Agoura a couple of years ago from Sherman Oaks, and ping-ponged from place to place, still hoping one day I would find my shop. My LAFD brother-in-law is a local and his referral led me to Ramsey. I knew immediately that Ramsey is the real deal. Super clean lines. Perfect fades. Perfection. No BS. This is the spot. To top it off, a frosty cold beer upon arrival (my grandfather used to have hard liquor in decanters in the back of his shop for his regular customers - he would be proud)!
