RB Sushi off the I-15 is always a great spot because it is clean, plenty of menu variety, and perfect for groups with their long tables. Tried a new coconut shrimp dish recently added to the menu. It tasted okay, but the presentation was gorgeous. Love the little touches, like the orchid I always put in my hair. Service was friendly, maybe not as attentive as before, but still solid. Always a place I'll come back to!

This is the sushi place with the huge ceiling fan, I call it. Besides that, their actual menu and food are both creative and tasty. A couple highlights are their seasonal and their gluten free column on the menu which comes with gluten free soy and eel sauces if preferred. We ordered about four cut rolls a special, one nigiri plate and some hot sake. Our server was training that evening so service was a little slower but overall friendly and accommodating. Lastly, the quieter weekday crowd was small making it a nice place for conversation.

Bomb!!! RB Sushi remains top spot on my list. Always satisfying. If you're around come through!

Came here last night with a group of people. The service was great and all the appetizers/salads and sushi rolls arrived fairly quickly and we're delicious. Good sized portions of sushi rolls, also the chicken and shrimp fried rice was delicious! Not a huge restaurant but a good size spot in RB. Also the prices for drinks were very reasonable and low for a sushi restaurant. Pictured is the One Punch Roll ($16) which is one of their many specialty rolls.

The service was wonderful and the rolls were quick to come out. The speciality rolls were good but one was over powered by lemon and wasn't quite enjoyable, even the fish didn't taste as fresh as we would've liked. It was busy but we never felt forgotten. The sushi was okay compared to other spots in San Diego but got a delicious mochi dessert for a birthday celebration.

Lunch special included all my faves: spicy tuna roll and Chef's choice nigiri (4 pcs)

We tried RB Sushi in Rancho Bernardo for the first time, and I can confidently say I was very pleased. The food was delicious, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service. Lana was incredibly polite and attentive. She even knelt down to our level as we were seated to take our order. She offered great recommendations and she did everything with a warm smile. Her enthusiasm made us feel like valued customers, and it really elevated the entire dining experience.

Love RB Sushi! We usually order their sushi platters and they never disappoint. Ordering online is super easy, and while we often do pick-up when we're town, I'll definitely try delivery next time for convenience. The rolls are always fresh, beautifully presented, and a big hit with family and friends.

I love to come here with my brother when I'm in San Diego - we usually order to go, though we have eaten in, and had lovely service. They are personable and efficient, and the sushi is great! We tend to get rolls vs. nigiri, and the flavor and freshness is outstanding, and they've never gotten a to go order incorrect. Looking forward to seeing my brother and RB Sushi soon! Check out the fan - "Big A** Fan Co." apparently - it tracks!

I often frequent this place on my lunch break by myself and I had to shoutout this time because the roll that I had was absolutely delicious. It was on the chef special menu and truly one of the best rolls I've had in a long time. Shrimp Sautee roll!! Get it while you can! The service is always great and here and they're all very kind!

4.5+stars and a pleasant surprise! Located in a narrow retail strip along Bernardo Center Drive just east of the 15. This place didn't look like much from the outside, but once you enter, the space is roomy and inviting. I had the pork katsu lunch special, and my wife and her mom each had the chirashi bowl. All well prepared/presented, very generous portions, and wonderful service. They also had the largest ceiling fan I've ever seen in an eatery.

I came with my significant other & their friend. Staff were welcoming and the atmosphere was quiet. We came at dinner time so there wasn't much customers. The entrance is small but the room is spacious. There's a wide selection of sushi rolls/handrolls/nigiri to choose from. I had appetizers of the Fried Calamari, Gyoza (6pcs). The Fried Calamari wasn't very crispy but it was tasty with the sauce of spicy mayo which made me order a lot with a side of ginger. The Gyoza was crunchy and juicy. As for the sushi rolls, I had the Garnet, Eel handroll, and my significant other had the plate full of sashimi (10pcs). The Eel handroll was very tasty. The sashimi took awhile to come out but it was still delicious. The Garnet sushi roll was very filling and the portion size was generous. Overall, I'd recommend this place for a nice gathering with friends & family or just to grab a bite.

I met up with my friend for lunch. We ordered the Pink roll and a 10-piece salmon sashimi platter to share. It was a super hot day and we drank lots of water, so we were rather full. Our server was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean.

Ask the Community - RB Sushi

Are they going to bring back all you can eat?

No. The food was so bad.

Wat is the all you can eat prices for 2022?

Don't think they do all you can eat anymore.

How much is the all you can eat?

I did hear they don't do that anymore, shame, but it was only for one person at a time and you had to eat there, but alas no more.

So, is all you can eat back or not?

No, they do not have all you can eat.

Is the all you can eat available still?

No Considering they are closed due to a rat infestation the health department shut them down

    When is happy hour?

Happy hour is all day long, Monday through Friday. Lunch specials including sushi combos, rice plates & the lunch price for all you can eat ($24) are available every single day of the week from 11:30AM to 3PM as long as you're seated before 3PM.…

Super random question, but this has been bugging me for some time now haha. What does the "RB" in RB Sushi stand for? I always thought it alluded to the Rancho Bernardo location, but was told that's not the case. Anyone know?

RB Sushi does stand for Rancho Bernardo as that is where the first location originated.

There's a lot of businesses around this area so I can see Sushi Kami being a popular spot for a go-to lunch outside of work. We came for dinner and got seated right away and it wasn't too busy at all. It was nice but still casual at the same time if that makes sense. I will say the parking was a little tight and we had to make a bit of an awkward U-turn to get to the restaurant but the lot wasn't that full so it wasn't too bad but I could see this being trickier in the daytime. I really enjoyed both the spicy tuna and salmon. I've had a lot of weird spicy tuna but this one hit just right. It's always hard to find that perfect balance between fish and spice but I really enjoyed this one. The salmon was good too. The standout was definitely the tempura we got as well. It was large and came out hot and crispy and perfect. This is the type of sushi restaurant I could take people to who don't necessarily like sushi all that much. There's lots of options on the menu including bulgogi (next time I shall try!) and really good combos for people to enjoy. Ambiance is chill but still has that fun sushi vibe with the displays of fish (and I even saw some creative fish decorating on the walls which I thought was a nice touch) Service was nice and they always refilled our waters without us having to ask. I enjoyed the food and the vibe! Would definitely come back to try more ...and brings others along too!

It looks like most of the other tables were reserved for reservations. The decor is modern and very clean and chic. They also had a high chair and was accommodating with our baby. Food was incredible and the quality of the fish is evident throughout. We started with the mixed shrimp and vegetable tempura - light crispy batter, really good. The sashimi champaloo came with 12 pieces of sashimi, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and the fish of the day was albacore. For rolls, we got the Luna Lemon, Maru's Sushi Toro, and Hamachi Hiro. The rolls were a good size and I loved how each had a fun twist (but at the same time not TOO crazy with their combinations like some other sushi places). You can tell it was designed with intention and each roll had a nice balance. The Luna Lemon roll was great with spicy tuna inside, salmon outside, and the soy dressing and shallot oil put it over the top. The Maru's Sushi - Toro roll looked so good in the photos so I knew we had to order it. The negitoro was delicious and did not disappoint. The Hamachi Hiro roll was hearty and loved the combination of yellowtail outside the shrimp tempura in the inside. We were blown away by how fast the service is. The staff was friendly and on top of everything, and the food came out REALLY fast. For example, when we ordered an extra roll at the end, it came out in maybe 3 minutes and we were shocked. The sashimi was pretty good, but quality wise the sashimi champloo was definitely superior. -Salmon mango roll ($9.50): This had spicy salmon, mango, and ume furikake. This was quite tasty, and definitely had a kick to it. -Maru Maru roll ($9.50): This had imitation crab meat, shrimp tempura, and avocado. A basic roll but still good. -Chicken katsu curry don ($16.95): This was disappointing because the portion was quite small for the price. I do like how the curry was packaged separately. All in all, Hakumaru has quality sashimi and rolls, but could work on portion size for chicken katsu curry don.

The four stars go to the chef's great job on the hamachi/ salmon collars, outside crispy inside juicy, maintained freshness , I can have it every night :) the Agidashi tofu is authentic, great seasoned and lightly fried. The blue fin toro is silky and fatty ^.^ the tempura was ok good, shrimp not that fresh, and the coating was too thick for me. The cucumber salad is simple and refreshing, if you like vinaigrette taste, you will like it. The Seattle roll was not my favorite, somehow the texture and taste do not please my taste bud, acceptable . The last, I would recommend the owner to put single dinner a little far from the noise bar area, sometime the noise level can trigger my watch noise alert. Overall, this is one of my most favorite Japanese restaurants in this area. Not sure if they are working on changing the names, I would vote on the previous name Genki sushi -- matches the whole atmosphere, comfy food.

It was Sunday night and we were driving back to Escondido from Anaheim. GPS says they close at 9:30 PM. We roll in at exactly 9:05 PM. Place still had customers inside, open tables, and two hostesses literally started walking us to a table. The male host said, "Last call is in 10 minutes." Cool. I jokingly ask, "For alcohol?" because I wanted TWO damn sushi rolls, not a 12-course feast. He says with a smile, "No. Last call for food and everything else." Okay... easy day. We already knew exactly what we wanted. Simple order. In and out. No biggy. Then came the look. You know the look. The "damn it, I want to go home, why did customers show up during business hours?" look from management and the sushi chefs. Next thing you know, manager says we cannot be served. Wait... what happened to "last call in 10 minutes?" Suddenly now it is, "You missed last call at 9:00 PM." It was 9:06 PM. So your establishment closes at 9:30 PM... but actually closes at 9:00 PM... but also has a last call in 10 minutes... but also refuses service? Got it. Crystal clear. Listen, if y'all want to leave at 9:00, then change the damn hours to 9:00. Do not advertise 9:30 and have people driving 70 miles just to get hit with attitude and false hope. So we walked out and went somewhere else. Being turned away wasn't the problem. The problem was being treated like customers showing up during YOUR posted business hours was somehow our fault. The staff are very friendly and greet you immediately, except for the sushi chef, who is very stern and does not engage. We came at opening, and the place was empty, for a Saturday, I found that strange. We were told to choose any seat we wanted. Service was quick and very attentive. The menu has a little of everything, but it definitely caters more to the American palate than the Japanese. We ordered Spicy Cucumbers and Shishito Peppers as starters. Both were good. They actually tasted really good when you ate them together. For our mains, we ordered Unagi sashimi style, the honey roll, and the Roka roll. To be brutally honest, I rate sushi restaurants based on their Unagi. For me, it has to be cut very traditionally and served the same. This Unagi did not meet my standards, and yet, it was very tasty and fresh. It was a good surprise. The Honey Roll was very fresh and tasty, except for the lemon on top. The pith was not removed, and it gave it a bitter aftertaste. When we removed the lemon, it was very good. I did not like the Roka Roll, but my daughter really enjoyed it. It was missing something, in my opinion. The portions are generous, so you can fill up with just a few selections. This was just not to my palate. We asked for hot tea, and they brought us a coffee mug with a tea bag and hot water. As I said, more American than Japanese in style. The worst part for me was the ladies' room. I doubt they can do much about this, but there is such a strong sewer smell in there that it is overpowering and really hard to use the bathroom.
