Not bad for the suburbs in north county inland SD! I used to go to the Hillcrest location (RIP) back in the day when they had an AYCE model. This is the last RB Sushi location (located in RB, fittingly) and I'm glad to say that the quality is excellent with great portions. The value is good; there isn't AYCE but it's still worth it for what you get. The dining room is clean and modern and extra spacious with a HUGE fan. Definitely a comfortable spot to bring the family. Lots of ample parking located inside a strip mall near the 15 freeway. Will def be back! read more

I went here on a Sunday after attending another event in the area. We went around 2:00 so it was not very busy at all. We were seated pretty promptly, and our server was extremely cheerful and helpful. We decided to order three rolls to share. We ordered the Kimmy, The Majestic, and the blossom. My favorite hands down was The Majestic, it had real crab inside which I appreciate, and a really good flavor. The blossom had fried onions on top come off Which was different but not bad Period the sauce on top was a little much at times but still good. The Kimmy was good but my least favorite of all. It had a kind of smoky flavor to the salmon which just didn't fit in my opinion. During our dining experience, we also asked for extra ginger, and they brought us a huge serving which was much appreciated. I definitely think this is a place you should check out, if you like sushi. The prices were about average of a good sushi spot, and the rolls were really fresh. The size of the rolls were really good as well, I noticed a lot of places I've been to recently the roles have been pretty small. I love that they have a separate section for real crab rolls, because so many places are using imitation now. There were definitely some interesting options and flavor combinations, like they had a roll with wagyu. RB Sushi off the I-15 is always a great spot because it is clean, plenty of menu variety, and perfect for groups with their long tables. Tried a new coconut shrimp dish recently added to the menu. This is the sushi place with the huge ceiling fan, I call it. Besides that, their actual menu and food are both creative and tasty. A couple highlights are their seasonal and their gluten free column on the menu which comes with gluten free soy and eel sauces if preferred. We ordered about four cut rolls a special, one nigiri plate and some hot sake. Our server was training that evening so service was a little slower but overall friendly and accommodating. Came here last night with a group of people. The service was great and all the appetizers/salads and sushi rolls arrived fairly quickly and we're delicious. Good sized portions of sushi rolls, also the chicken and shrimp fried rice was delicious! Not a huge restaurant but a good size spot in RB. Went to RB sushi for my daughter's birthday dinner. She had been here for Homecoming dinner and liked it so much she wanted to go back for her birthday. The food was very good. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. They even brought out a slice of cake for her to celebrate her birthday. It had a big sparkler on it. The popularity on Yelp convinced me to give it a try, and I came here around 7pm, got seated right away , no line and no crowd. It was easy to park as well in the small plaza. The place is good for family and friends gathering, it has sushi bar seating , also tables. The waitress "helped" me order way more than I need, and the roll I got was big with thick sushi rice, stuffed! Based on the review recommendation, I also ordered the lobster roll thing topped this grilled thing, omg , that was biggest failure, greasy and heavy , basically my taste bud rejected to take more after one bite. I used to come here all the time for a casual sushi bite but sadly the quality has really gone downhill in the last year or so. When I do visit now (which is infrequently), I really only order the Crunchy Roll or Chicken Fried Rice due to having a couple questionable experiences with some of their other raw rolls. Dine in service is okay. It's not typically too busy but somehow still takes awhile to get your food. When ordering online for takeout they always seem to miss something so I recommend double checking your order before leaving. She reminded me of Erin from the show The Office :) Upon sitting down my arms were stuck to the surface of the table. Menus also had a scent like they aren't wiped down regularly. Was not a fan of the chicken teriyaki rice bowl. The teriyaki sauce just wasn't that great and they did not put enough sauce on it. The sauce was honestly a bit spicy, I prefer when my teriyaki sauce is sweet. I also wish they used normal rice instead of sticky rice for their fried rice. I have been coming here for almost three years now, and it is hands-down the best sushi place in this area. Their rolls are fresh and tasty, their drinks are cost-effective and delicious, their ramen is quick and easy, and the staff is always super helpful and quick. Recently, they updated their menu to incorporate even more options, and I honestly couldn't have been happier. I love a good Japanese curry, but I always had to go elsewhere when I craved it since they didn't offer it. But now with the new menu, they do!!! It was clean and the tables are spread out so you don't feel uncomfortable. I ordered the Langostino Lover roll and it was awesome, and huge! It was baked to absolute perfection. For my second roll I had the Super Scallop roll. I always get a scallop when I have sushi and this was the best ever. My wife had the spicy tuna roll and that also was spot on. The Fried Calamari wasn't very crispy but it was tasty with the sauce of spicy mayo which made me order a lot with a side of ginger. The Gyoza was crunchy and juicy. As for the sushi rolls, I had the Garnet, Eel handroll, and my significant other had the plate full of sashimi (10pcs). The Eel handroll was very tasty. Unfortunately with the pandemic, like many other restaurants, they had to alter their operations. Very understandable, but with my recent experience, it seems like they've haven't been able to fully bounce back. I came here on a Sunday night, was seated right away as the restaurant wasn't very full. I was super excited to do AYCE again since it's been so long since I've been back. But unfortunately the waitress told us they stopped AYCE since the pandemic. My fault for not checking ahead of time but it was okay. We ended up ordering the Oh No roll, UFO roll and Baked Zarigani roll. All tasted good, kind of how I remembered. I wanted to order a few more side dishes but hard to justify without AYCE. But to note, a few of my old favorites are the cream cheese wontons and salmon nigiri. Overall, my latest experience was fine. Food was fine, service was standard. I just feel like it was missing the spark it used to have years ago. It was different coming in and not seeing the crowd it used to have. I had an oyster shooter and within hours had explosive diarrhea. Not just a little bit but so mush that I literally could not move and was forced to wear diapers I cannot remember ever being this sick We spent over 100 dollars in there.
