Today was my very first threading experience and I can say that I will never wax my eyebrows again. I needed an alternative to waxing since waxing on the face is highly discouraged to those of us using topical acne creams. I though about tweezing but I hate tweezing and I am not very good at it. So, I did some research on Yelp to find a good place to go for threading. I came across the reviews for RB's Threading Studio. I was happy to see that all 7 reviews gave the place 5 stars. Also, the location is very convenient to my job in SSF. I called around 10:00 this morning and was able to get an appointment for 2:00 this afternoon. Bela did my brows today and although it was a bit painful, it was so worth it. My brows have never looked better. She suggested doing my lip and I have to be honest, it hurt. but wow what a difference! My eyes were watering like crazy. However, both my lip and brows stopped stinging shortly after. There some slight redness but that too went away shortly after. I only paid $18 and received a 10% discount because it was my first time there. The regular price is $20 for both lip and eyebrows. $15 for eyebrows only. I will definitely go back and would recommend threading at Rb's Threading Studio to anyone considering going from waxing to threading. read more

over 3.5 years ago, ruchi and bela came into my life and rescued me from my hyper-plucking condition. and after 3.5 years of consistant visits, i can still confidently say that everytime is just as good if not better than the first. my brows are still looking arched and clean. they've grown in on all the right places making my once sparse brows look darker and more full (which i've always wanted). i used to have to fill in and draw my brows to show shape definition, but now i don't even have to put any make up on. when family and friends compliment you on being more and more beautiful each time they see you, something is DEFINITELY going right in the world! it's a sin not to go back to rb's religiously. thank you rb's! read more

Still love this place. Both Ruchi and Bella are great. I prefer my eyebrows fuller with a natural arch, so I've finally settled on Bella although Ruchi does a great of a job when Bella isn't free. I've used Rb's threading service on more than one occasion and walked away with mediocre results. There was little engagement with customers, other than your name being called and being asked what you'd like serviced. After the job is complete, your payment is due (of course). It would be nice if the staff were more engaging with their customers and to play a little music to break the awkward silence in the shop. read more

When I first came to this place over a year ago, I enjoyed each experience because they placed a lot of care into their work. They paid attention to the small details. BUT NOW... They have this young girl doing the threading and she rushes through it! First, my eyebrows! She thinned them out! I said touch up and I swear it looks like a pencil mark! Next, the pain! I never felt that much pain! Even when they had the previous lady, there was pain, but not blistering pain! My lips were burning for 30-40 minutes afterwards! Then, she walked away and I guessed I was finished! Not a word, and I had to help myself to a tissue to brush off the hair. Took a look in the mirror and I can see that some of the hair was snapped off not plucked off! Last, she didn't finished my transaction and she started to tend to the next customer. I have been a repeat customer ever since! Everytime I have just walked in, they have always had time to take care of me. This is so much better than waxing, and way less painful. I am 25 and have never used makeup, but recently I've decided that experimenting with makeup would be fun and that I'm not going to lose my Tomboy flare by doing so. After researching various makeup looks, I decided to go with a more natural, but more defined look and the first step in the makeup process is shaping your eyebrows. I am fair skinned with very fine, blond-brown hair, so I also chose to have my eyebrows tinted, since my eyebrows are blond and disappear into my face. I was very nervous about getting my eyebrows touched because I didn't want to look too different or feel clownish and I was also nervous about them leaving the brows too thin - I strongly dislike thin brows (that's just my opinion). After several recommendations from a friend and looking around on Yelp - I decided to (a) do threading and (b) do it at Rb's. Rb's came highly recommended by a friend of mine who is a makeup and fashion fanatic (she does it for a living) and she explained that threading is less painful and accurate than waxing - she also said that Rb's is the best around. Compared to other places in the area - Rb's is also a fair deal. I was considering going to LaBelle, but eyebrow shaping there was $45 and tinting was 28. I got my eyebrows shaped at Rbs' for $15 and tinted for $15. I was so nervous about the whole procedure that I forgot the name of my attendant, but she was gentle, gracious, and patient. She was very thorough and when I came back in 10 min later overly paranoid that I needed a few more hairs removed from the right eyebrow - she obliged with a smile, despite it being Friday and a very full day. I enjoyed the whole experience. Other notes include - clean - professional - nice atmosphere - diverse clientele - there were both men and woman. And (not joking) in the half hour or so that I was there. I saw an Indian man, two Asian woman, another blond gal, an older Caucasian woman, and two dark haired women in there late 20s or so. - good location - easy access with BART, lots of parking, and you can make a day of it by cruising the shops on Burlingame Ave and enjoying some of the local restaurants (try Mingalaba! - amazing!). -So, so, so friendly! Both the ladies there were such content and happy people that there cheer definitely rubbed off on their clients. So far I'm happy with the result, but I'm still getting used to having dark eyebrows. I brought in some photos that I printed out online and I think that she did a good job getting the shape and shade that I wanted. I was also very appreciative that she didn't make me feel silly or weird for never having attended to my eyebrows before. read more

I've never tried threading before and I was really anxious. I usually get my brows waxed but my usual brow gal was on vacation and this was a last resort. I admit that it did hurt a lot but my brows were clean and I was out in 10-15 minutes. I have sensitive skin so there was some redness for about an hour afterwards. I don't know that I would go back regularly since I didn't feel like my brows had a lot of shape and I don't know that I can get used to the way it feels. It is however a good last resort option in case I can't see my usual brow gal. read more

this is SO my go to place to get my eyebrows done! i love this place. its easy to get to, price is wonderful, and they do the most fabulous job every time! never an eyebrow out of place! always fast and easy! i love this place! plus, i don't have to get on the bart and go all the way to downtown san francisco, Montgomery station, which is by the way for those of you who don't know, is HELLA far, from san mateo, just to get my eyebrows done anymore. i do miss maria tho, she used to be my old eyebrow lady. she did waxing, but i think threading is better, because it doesn't get all in your hair and hurt as much. also, they don't grow back as fast which is great. ive been meaning to write a review about this place in forever! im glad i have time to do that now, cause they definitely deserve their stars!!! read more

I got my full face threading by Ruchi today, and first time threading ever. She is very good. My eyebrow is very thin and light towards the end. I've been coming here since it opened. Ruchi and her team are the only people I let near my eyebrows. They always do a great job of cleaning and reshaping. They also let you know what needs to grow in more so you get a better shape. I used to also get my upper lip threaded and they're extremely patient and kind about going slowly in the more sensitive areas. I have very sensitive skin and my eyes get super watery and it's more painful for me than it is for the average person but they're always thorough and I never feel rushed to get out. They make sure I'm comfortable and my brows are to my liking. I've even moved across the country now to FL and I come home 3 times a year to visit family.. first stop is always to get my brows reshape and perfectly done so I can go back to fl and jus maintain it since I can't find anyone I trust with my brows there. read more

It was my first time trying threading. I've been wanting to try it out and when my brother's wedding was upcoming, my distressed eyebrows needed work! Rb is nearby and I went in during a lunch break, mid-week so I was the only customer at the time. The whole process took like 10 minutes max. It was clean and quick, I felt a bit of pinching but nothing awful. She warned me that I would get red, which I did. She offered me a package deal but told me that since it was my first time I should think about it and come back again if I really wanted to purchase the deal. I really love this place. The lady is super nice, and does a painless job. I've gotten my eyebrows threaded numerous times in the past by some other lady, but nothing compares to this place. Ruchi helped me grow my brows back, after years of waxing they had gotten real thin and now my brows are FAB!!!
