Shopped at RC Wiley in Sacramento and Rocklin many times always had a good experience. However we stopped while returning from a trip to find a replacement bookcase. We went back to the Clearance Center found a nice bookcase. they wanted 220 out the door for it. The bookcase was marked discontinued. The Sales person was not pleasant and not willing to negotiate on price. We asked if they would go down 20 dollars and the sales person refused to budge. Any time we have gone to any other RC Wiley they have always been at least willing to negotiate. Very unpleasant experience and also felt the other floor people stalked us around the floor. Would not recommend going here it would be better to drive two hours to Sacramento instead. read more

I don't know how anyone ever gives more than 1 star for this place. They dont know how to do anything right. From their sales people to their delivery people to the dockhands in Will Call- give these guys the chance to drop the ball and they will. I said some good things about some of their people in my last review but I take back what I said about Cordero. Last Thursday I went down to pick up a coffee table replacement for the wobbly surface last one they were going to sell me (typical R.C. Willey quality) after Michael told me it was ready to pick up. Knowing the high percentage of error that they have been exhibiting over the course of the last year, I asked my salesperson Michael Cordero if he'd please take a look at the coffee table I was about to pick up before I drove from Northwest Reno to pick it up so as to avoid picking up another piece of faulty merchandise. He assured me that its better to keep it in the box so it doesnt get damaged on the way home. I agreed with his idea and drove down to pick it up anyways. When I got to the dock in Will Call, a guy came out onto the dock, called my name and wheeled my "coffee table" down the ramp towards my car. I mentioned that I thought it was great how it was on casters in case I needed to roll it. He said, "Yeah, its really light actually." I thought that was kind of strange considering the fact that it was a glass topped coffee table. Regardless, we lifted the "coffee table" into the back of my vehicle. After a minute or two I realized that there was no glass top on the coffee table whatsoever. Not really a coffee table in my book, when its missing 50% of its parts and most important part- the top. On which you'd set your coffee or any other drink on. I asked the guy, "where's the top ?!!" He said, "I dont know." So basically he was going to let me leave with the frame of a coffee table and nothing else. That's pretty disrespectful to the customer if you ask me. They were going to sell me a coffee table with NO top. The dipshit went back up on the dock to look for it and couldnt find it anywhere. In fact, the dipshits in the office in Will Call had no idea where it was either. Furious, I called my sales guy, Michael Cordero who refused to look at the table before I came down there that would have already solved this problem had he merely looked at the thing before I came down. He said I could have the glass from the display model in the showroom if they couldnt find it. They never did find it and thats what I had to take. Typical R.C. Willey. Give em a chance to screw up and they will, 100% of the time. Theyre good at giving discounts for their screw ups but I dont know if thats necessarily something to be proud of. Had Michael just walked 50 yards over to the dock to make sure the coffee table was in good shape and at least had a top included somehow this wouldnt have happened. Had they hired people in the warehouse that weren't mentally retarded this wouldn't have happened. If they had any kind of decent quality control at any level this wouldnt have happened. Im just glad Im done with these fools. They know nothing about quality furniture or how to deliver furniture or give you what you paid for on the dock. My relationship with them since last year went from bad to worse through all their mistakes and Im just glad to be done with them. read more

Very disappointed!! I spend over $6000.00 there on new appliances washer, dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and was buying a stove as well until delivery. I should have been better about checking the reviews of other people. When they delivered the Refrigerator they delivered the wrong one. I had ask for the LG with the ice maker in the bottom which they informed me all of them came that way now. NOT!! They delivered one that DID NOT have one and I had made at least 3 calls to make sure that was what I was getting as my Mom had one and it did not have the ice maker in it. I even called the night before delivery to double double check. That situation they did fix and get me the correct one after another week or so. When the stove arrived they told my manager the fitting was wrong and they didn't have time for her husband to go get the correct one so they took my old stove and just walked out I am SERIOUS they just walked out and left the stove in pieces in the middle of the kitchen and told them they could hook it up and put the burners together etc etc. The delivery guys were rude. My manager called me and I called RC Willey to get this taken care of and to come back and get there stove and bring mine back. They did come back and again VERY rude this time, My manager ask Did you really think I could put this whole thing together?? They never answered her just walk right past pickup there stove set my old one in the kitchen & was even leaving all the cardboard and papers until she ask them to take it. Did not re-hook it up. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!! I would not be writing this if they had somehow made this right but Nope no one even called. They did say when I was on the phone they would call me Monday but it's been over 2 weeks now so assuming no one cares about good customer Service. So buyer BEWARE!! I am NOT an appliance person so I do not know what kind of value I should have that is there job as an appliance place to help us so we are prepared. Where's the UGH button? This place gives me the creeps. I went in to look for a couch / sofa on a Saturday afternoon. There were more employees wandering around than actual potential customers. The employees were all trying to look REALLY BUSY and not making any eye contact by pretending to look at paperwork or their iPhones or discussing the Superbowl with their fellow employees. Delivery have been messed up and no solutions offered that take into consideration my schedule etc. Furniture is ok but nothing spectacular. Additionally I have gone in and been ready to buy and had two sales people sitting down 20 feet from me and can't get anyone to help me. I think today's messed up delivery and lack of good customer service will have me looking To online shops or even driving to Sacramento. The employees also seem a little clingy. Follow you around to each piece, I want to look in quietness. But wow after two weekends and 7 stores I believe we found the pieces. DOWNGRADE...their credit dept is obnoxious... lost a good customer... don't go here for the furniture.... it's not in good taste... but DO go here for a big screen TV... or a Fridge... or microwave or even exercise machine. you'll probably get a good interest free loan.. .they've also gotten me state rebates and gift cards... they sent me an origami dollar bill with hand written "thank you for the purchase" note... it's even a good place for a kids computer... it's a good place to get a mattress... it's my first stop now for appliances in the area...bought an assembled BBQ at a great price too i once had a very bad experience on a computer return with them, but they called me back a day later and apologized and made it more than good!... these people care... and they don't work on Sundays which I think is refreshing... give them a chance... read more

Our older GE Built-in Combination Microwave/Oven unit began to loose power after about 20 years (great usage!) so I called around to different appliance/furniture stores to find a brand new and suitable replacement. I had friends who had encountered loooooooooong manufacturing delays in getting appliances delivered to the United States (6-9 months) because of Covid, etc., and the measurements had to be precisely the same as the old unit since it was built into our existing cabinetry. I called Home Depot and Lowe's at least 10 times each and no one even bothered answering the phone in their appliance departments. Turns out they didn't even carry the GE model number we needed. Their items were also priced about $1000 more than RC Wiley's! I then called some privately owned appliances stores (Yes, that one that begins with a "C" and has a commercial running constantly----turns out they have horrible customer service reviews, so I steered clear of them.) Best Buy didn't even carry the model I was looking for. So, I called RC Wiley, remembering that they, too, carried appliances along with furniture and just about everything else under the sun. I had previously bought furniture from them and got a great deal for great quality and their delivery guys were great. Sooooo, I called right when RC Wiley opened and a very nice lady named, Lisa, listened to my situation, took down the stats of what I needed, and told me she would research and work with her boss to see if they could track down an appropriate replacement. I was elated when she called back only a few hours later and told me she had a similar GE unit available only in the updated "SMART" version with the exact same measurements as our old one and that there were 5 in stock in Roseville, CA, in RC Wiley's warehouse. This meant there would be no delay (if weather permitted getting the unit over Donner Summit and into Reno during this ridiculously snowy winter season we are having----but they were able to do so thanks to the Caltrans snowblowers who have been working tirelessly!) Before I bought and paid for it, Lisa was thorough in calling the installers, RR Installation of Reno, to make sure the dimensions and specs were okay to install the unit. Lisa was a "gem". She didn't try to upset me, and was very sympathetic to the fact that this would be going into my 96 year old mother's home. She, too, has senior aged parents. We got the green light from the installer, so we purchased the GE unit, and lo and behold, two very nice installers by the name of Dave and Zack came 10 days later and had the unit installed in about 20 minutes. It looks beautiful! They were experienced, efficient, courteous, and arrived during the delivery time window. And so, with the help of the wonderful Lisa at RC Wiley, and the installers Dave and Zack from RR Installation, we didn't have to wait a nightmare 6-9 months........purchase, delivery, and installation took only 10 days!!! How refreshing in a world that seems to be so upside down right now. And so we say, "Thanks a million for excellent service in all areas. We so deeply appreciate it and will definitely do more business with you in the future". We went to several other stores first. Wish we didn't waste our time!!! We walked in looking for a couch very specifically one with electric recliner and adjustable headrest. We were greeted by Micah Chalk who asked if he could help us. He was great!!! He took us to every couch (about 8) that met our specific needs. We felt very relaxed with no pressure. We didn't buy a couch that day but when we went back he remembered us. After purchasing our couch I had second thoughts and called Micah, he again was happy to help and make the changes I wanted without me having to dive to the store. I'm bitterly disappointed by RC Willey. Their in-store experience is decent, but their delivery schedules, delivery companies, and customer service post-sales is horrendous. I could write a long review here to state all that we've been through but the one I want to call out is that they damaged our hardwood floor when delivering, and came up with all sorts of excuses to avoid fixing the damage or honoring the claim. We shopped at the Carson City store. Update: Dear RC Willeys - thank you for your canned apology. This is typical of how your customer service responds. Passing on feedback to the store management means/does nothing. What I really need is someone to come out and inspect the damage to my floor, so you can settle the claim. read more

I'm saddened by this review, but it needs to be posted . I purchased a couch about 3 1/2 weeks ago during the local RC Willey anniversary sale. I was pleased with the price, style, and colors of my couch and excited to have it delivered to my home about a week later. (3/30) Unfortunately, I noticed after the delivery men left that the arm of my couch was making a terrible squeaking noise when I leaned against it and felt loose. I pushed on the arm and was surprised to feel something weak under the surprisingly thin padding that moved with very little pressure. I think it's either a thick cardboard or thin plastic that they've used to mold the rounded shape of the arm...and it seems to have come loose. I called RC Willey the next day to report the problems and request a replacement couch. I was told that they might not have one available but they expected some with their next order. I was given a date of 4/14 for deliver "at the latest". I waited for my delivery date, during which time I found that the other arm was flimsy as well and I could feel the backs of staples or nails underneath. I also poked my finger on the end of a nail sticking out of the FRONT of the arm. I received a call on 4/9 confirming the couch had been ordered and was still on schedule for delivery. I was told that I would receive a call on Friday with my delivery time window. I never got that call. Instead, I had to call RC Willey to find that "we don't see any deliveries scheduled for you today". I was then transferred to customer service where I was informed that my couch WAS there in the warehouse but had missed the truck. I asked when it WOULD be delivered and was told "I'm not sure." I asked if there was any way they could schedule a late afternoon delivery during the week, the associate said he would call to see if they could schedule that and he would call me back. I never got that call either. I have since called RC Willey 3 times and keep getting the run around. One associate even told me that I was past the 14 days in their return policy, but she would "see what she could do." I have asked that someone come out to see my couch as soon as possible, but requested that it be after 4 since I really cannot take more time off work for this couch. I was again told that there is a 3 hour window, but she would "see what she could do". She scheduled me for next Tuesday, but needed to confirm the late time request. I expected a call back confirming...that has not happened. I am so very disappointed with this couch. I am concerned that my guests, especially my grandson, will hurt himself on a nail, or the couch arm will just fall apart one day as one of my guests sits down. This is a poorly made couch and I really wish RC Willey would exchange it, replace it, or refund my money ASAP...oh, AND call me back when they say they will. I will update this review next week once I see if my appointment to have my couch examined actually happens. Just rude. After five or so minutes of waiting in total silence, he gave me a total. When I asked him politely to apply my credit to the purchase, he asked if I had a picture of it on my phone. That was it. It seemed liked he was totally inconvenienced by my asking him to apply my store credit. It may have been because he was stuck in a corner and my side of the counter was boxes to place my items on. Who knows? All the other people in the section seemed happy and engaging. RC WILLEY'S South Reno Location- From the moment I walked in I really never felt like I had or felt pressured to have to buy something like some furniture places I've been to. This location looked like an amusement park with everything and everywhere marked with large neon signs, now I've gotten one thing here well my Christmas gift was purchased here and that process was very very simple from what I seen. But this visit we were in the process of looking for flooring and possibly a new couch, so when i made my way to the flooring i was shocked at home many people were standing around *employees* place seemed busy but I decide to walk around an check out their selection now it took about 5min before someone approached us "Hi, how are you doing?" The gentleman just asked if we were in the market for and I said we weren't sure but he made us feel like we were there but didnt hover like I've seen some do. But after about 15min of looking around we couldn't locate a certain type and the young salesman approached yet again after realizing we looked lost and confused, after his resurance of where everything was and what other questions we were or had asked, after looking at prices we chose to go elsewhere. There was like no haggling or price talk with them so if you tried talking to them about a lower price or something it's not gonna work. But overall while searching the store I never felt like I was being forced except for one time that same day I was looking at couches and after telling the salesman what i was looking for and what i was not looking for he insisted on showing me items that were not what i wanted so after allowing him to show me a few items i simply said "well keep looking" but he tended to follow. I would recommend this location to everyone, one bad apple shouldn't mess up a whole tree but that's why I left it at 5 stars. I ordered a Samsung washer and dryer set on the 7th of September. The earliest delivery was the 20th. I wasn't notified until the morning of delivery that the dryer did not actually come in from there Salt Lake City, UT warehouse. It would of been nice to know sooner. I asked if there was a dryer similar in price that could be delivered today but that wasn't an option due to the Reno location having a small warehouse. I'm now being told that the delivery date of the dryer won't be until the 24th or 25th. If it only takes 4-5 days to get the products from the warehouse then why was I waiting 13 days to get my delivery in the first place? The delivery came, they were very quick and professional to set up the washer. I noticed after the delivery techs left that the washer has a dent in the front. Hopefully by the time, I've completed this review I hope to have settled on the correct amount of stars for my most recent purchase. I like being sold, most salesman do. My sales experience was fair, polite, and informative. Young (salesman) was professional. My purchase was a LG OLED TV and a Bose CineMate 130 Sound Bar. The installation team was polite and timely in their estimated arrival window. They were able to set up the TV & Sound Bar to the best of their experience which didn't include the TV (this was their first OLED experience with the Bose Sound bar). They were clean and prompt. When describing my setup to them, they mentioned that they had 15 installs in that day and could come back if I wanted them too. I declined the offer. They were able to configure the system to work from the Bose Remote vs. the standard Charter cable remote. They left and I tested the functionality of my new toys. Here's the grey area ... Overcommitting salesman, and knowledgeable install team. Maybe I was naive when I paid extra for my Bose Installation. I thought it would have included the ADAPTiQ setup. Even though I have a small living room; it should have been included. After listening to the wireless subwoofer, it has required some additional configurations to resolve some errors which weren't identified until it was tested (Guardians of the Galaxy - amazing color & sound). Initially, I was asked if I had an optical or fiber cable. I said, "no, never needed one before." They pulled one out of the van (charged me $45 for it). Then began the setup of the TV and Sound Bar, the TV has a HDMI/ARC port (HDMI 1). Bose systems love HDMI/ARC ports. (I have a Bose Lifestyle V20 in a box. My living room is too small for the 5.1) ARC stands for Audio Return Channel; it allows the HDMI port to send and receive sound (and video). In short, it will allow your Smart TV to hear your apps (Netflix, Pandora) through your sound system without an additional fiber (optic) cable. If the installation team stayed to test those apps, it might have saved me an additional $45 fiber/optical cable which wasn't tested and didn't work when I tested it. As I count the stars, I chose an amazing TV and Sound Bar. I chose the best deal available. Even though RC Willey wasn't giving away the LG Sound Bar that Best Buy was, they did give me a sizable credit off my purchase. The quality of the products and friendliness give this purchase four stars. read more

I have made several purchases from the Reno RC Wiley store but the last was the worst, after 4 months one of the recliners in the sectional quit working. since it is still under warranty I called to get it fixed, I was told RC Wiley uses a third party repair company and that someone would contact me to get it fixed. Two weeks later nothing so I called again, now I'm told by an RC Wiley manager they will not come out until there are enough people in my area who need repairs to "make it worth their while". and that they won't pursue getting some out to fix it unless it's been more then a month. Highly disappointed with my recent experience. We bought a bedroom set and when it was delivered, it has no slats for the bed. Why was it loaded without double checking everything was there? The driver said it happened earlier in the day as well with another customer. After spending close to 3k for the set, we had to go pick up a metal frame ourselves from the store and put it together so we had a place to sleep that night. The customer service flops happened throughout, with the sales associate Kazen, Heather in the furniture department, the will call/customer pick up woman and guy (Ty) who gave us the frame. Chris, the furniture manager was helpful but no one would answer their phones to help me get to him quickly. Lastly, the bed-frame was damaged in several places so we had to reorder another set. Since RC Willey does not take away old furniture when they bring in the new set, I'd choose to shop a small local store in instead. It took them almost a month to set up a delivery for our kitchen appliances, fridge, microwave, stove and dishwasher and after they dropped the appliances off someone didn't put in an order for them to be hooked up?? This review is to educate RC Willey customers of how they do business and pay their employess. Hopefully, this will give you a better idea of what to expect when it comes to customer service. **The sales staff are paid 100% on commission and delivery staff are paid per item delivered.** Recently, my family & I purchased $15,000+ to furnish two homes. One in Tahoe and one in Reno. One of the items did not work at the lake so we decided to put it in our Reno home. Our Tahoe delivery was on Friday and the Reno delivery was the following Wednesday. The delivery staff told us there was no room to store it at their facility so we drove it back down to Reno ourselves. On Wednesday, the delivery staff refused to move the piece of furniture into its the preferred location because they said the Friday crew were the ones that got paid to move it. The delivery staff hinted that it might get done if they were paid under the table. I offered a $20 tip but that was not enough. They wanted $20 per each (so $40 total) under the table. This seemed ridiculous to me because it was their product that I paid for and it still had the tags on it! I spoke with the customer service manager and explained the situation and he said it was the delivery drivers choice to move it or not. I was not satisfied, so when I asked what he was going to do to make me happy he said, "NOTHING". I'm not sure what customer service training he received but it seems he could use a little more. The store manager did return my phone call and listened to my complaint. He was very easy to talk to and understanding but there seems is a big disconnect with their delivery department. They don't even seem like they work for the company. Perhaps RC Willey needs to reconsider how they pay their delivery drivers to make them feel like they are more part of the team and to treat their customers with more respect. read more

It was very frustrating to try to purchase a piece of furniture from this place. I had such a horrible experience that I created this Yelp account just to voice my frustration. My mother went into this store and looked into the clearance section for a piece of furniture she wanted. She found the piece she wanted and the salesman told her she could purchase it and walk out with the piece all in the same day, only problem was she didn't have enough room in her car to take it. She told the salesman that she would have me pick it up the next day with my truck since she couldn't take it, and the salesman said that would work out. She then asked me to use my truck to pick it up for her, so the next day after that I arrive to the store and they are closed. The salesman told my mother that it would be available on that day to pick up. So I wait until the next day to go purchase the piece of furniture, and the salesman says they are out of stock of that piece even though we were told we could purchase clearance items right off the wall. I come in another day to see if they actually have it in stock and it still isn't in stock, so my mother decides she will buy a similar piece instead. The day I come to pick up the piece I call the pickup number and I am greeted by a very unfriendly sounding man. The guy tells me it will be 15 minutes until they come out with the piece. I found a sectional online that looked really nice. I ordered it after talking to a salesman several times and they did not have one on display. The sectional although nice looking is extremely uncomfortable. I did not want a power reclining sectional or sofa to begin with, but it was all they had at the time. They said it is leather match but I am not completely sure even that is true as there is no give. I haven't even had this couch a year and will be requesting a refund as only one seat has been actually sat on and even that not so much due to the uncomfortability. This sectional cost 5k and that is way too much money to spend for something that cannot be used. read more
