This place is amazing. I had some odb ii port issue with my x5 40e and couldn't get smog check completed in two different locations. I looked around for BMW repair shops and found RDB. Not only RDB was among only two shops who wanted to diagnose my issue but Moses from RDB was the only one that wouldn't charge for diagnostics. I visited RDB today and thought I was in wrong place since there were a lot of luxury, exotic vehicles. Moses greeted and carefully listened to my concerns. He then took my car for a diagnosis. After about 30 mins of diagnosis, Moses got back to me and said there was nothing wrong with my car. What a surprise! I visited two seprate smog stations and they all said there was obd ii port issue. Moses explained that he ran all tests for odb ii port and everything was fine. He recommended that I take the smog test again at Smog Control on La Brea and Sunset. It was about 5 mins driving from RDB. At Smog Control, Greg, one of the owners greeted me. After about 10 mins of waiting, it was my turn. In about another 10 mins or so, Greg came to me and I thought it was too short. I was thinking "Shoot, may be they experience the same problem." But then his brother told me the test was completed and boom, my car passed the test. Stressing about this for the past 3-4 weeks, I was immensely relieved. I have no idea what went wrong with the other two smog stations but thanks to these honest and helpful folks at RDB LA and Smog Control, they saved my time and money! I brought in my Challenger SRT8, second hand, and badly maintained by the previous owner and the dealer. Spoke to Moses who agreed to take a look. It needed a lot of work, I knew that. I needed new control arms, bushings, break pads, discs, shocks, springs, a full respray, a few leaks repairing, new hoses, lifters, cam shaft, and oil tank. Moses sorted me out for a fair price, and while it took a while, it was a lot of work, the quality of the work was crazy good, and I was kept informed with pictures and videos almost daily. I ended up getting new tires, wheels, and getting the car lowered I was so impressed. Again, all for a price that was very fair. Like some others I was initially intimidated by the kinds of cars they regularly work on (Bentleys, Lambos. McLarens etc) but they treated me and my car like they treat every client. I called in advance and was asked to bring the car down. I pulled in the shop around 12:28pm. No one came to the car so I got out. Upon getting out I saw 6guys eating at the conference table. Out of respect I waited to see if anyone would greet me as a customer. It was very awkward. They looked at each other, looked at me and didn't say anything. I guess that's the cultural cold shoulder. So I began to walk away, and all of a sudden three of them jumped up to motion as if they wanted to help. At that point it was very clear that they did not want my business maybe because I'm a black guy in a black Corvette. You no longer have to hang a sign in front of your business. You just have to refuse to engage. Very disappointed. I wanted to get my car redone and spend some good money. Later I called to voice my dissatisfaction with the below standard service and spoke with Moses the manager. He basically said that between 12 and 1 PM they have lunch and they do not talk to customers. It's one of those things. And he basically said I was rude because after 15 seconds of standing there, I just turned around and left. So I told him I would voice this concern at the City meeting and he could care less.. be careful who you do business with because when there's an issue that's when you find out who they really aren't! At 1:30 I received a call from Mano. I am not going to address his claim because it is far from the truth. I will say he presented himself more professional that Moses, because he claimed he was the owner. My message to him was I accept his apology and that what ever the reason is that it doesn't excuse the behavior and that they should sharpen their service skills, especially in today's customer service environment. What was concerning was his request for me to delete the Yelp? He claimed that I was personally hurting him and his business because of it I explained to him that yelp is a foundational program that allows clients and customers to express their engagement with small businesses, and that our voice is important, and should be shared amongst the retail ecosystem. Moses provided excellent customer service from the first phone call to pickup. I brought my 2017 Civic hatchback to RDBLA to have my lowering kit installed and rear brakes replaced. Moses gave me estimates for the install and brake repair over the phone and I brought my car in an hour later. Up front he let me know what the scope of work required and an estimate for when I'd be able to pickup my car. When there was a possible change in the work timeline, Moses gave me a call immediately. I appreciate him setting expectations early in our conversation so that I wouldn't be surprised about the cost or time taken to execute the job correctly. I picked up my car the next day (a Saturday) and I'm very happy with the results. Thank you Moses and RDBLA, I'll be back for other work that I don't trust the car dealership with. I called on Thursday to make an appointment for a B9 service on a Saturday. Saturday comes around and I called 15-20 minutes as a courtesy to say that I'm running late by 30 minutes. Moses, says "what are you coming for?" I replied "A B9 service" he says "hold on". Moses gets back on the phone and says that "the power went out in the entire shop and we can't service right now." Adding "I can't even place cars on the lift." The question in my head.."is the shop open for business or not?!?! Moses says that he would call me if the power is turned on, but no promises, but "I'll try my best to see what I can do for you." I knew something wasn't right, but I was already in the car and 30 minutes away. Also, just in case he wasn't lying to me, I'd be close to have my vehicle serviced. I arrive, and the shop is alive and kicking. Drills are going, people standing around chatting it up. I walked in and informed the gentleman behind the counter that I'm here to have my vehicle serviced and someone told me that the power was off. He looked at me with a blank stare and said what?!?! He called Moses, Moses arrives and I proceed to repeat the same thing to him. He says "oh everything is fine, I haven't had 5 seconds to call anyone back." Ok, so because I'm a real one and I don't trip on bs things like this, it's whatever. I get, I'm not coming in for a $5k-$20k modification as my service cost $150. But don't advertise "low level" or "annoying services" if you're not willing to do them. Within two years, I would try to bring my cars by for services (window tint, engine work, and now this). And I seem to get the run around. Moses gives different prices every time I speak to him. Chronic and compulsive lier. Example, I sent my white male friend in with my car and he asked how much to wrap it (body and rims), Moses says between $4-4500. I bring the same car by for a battery change (which isn't resolved), he says $6500!!! What the hell?!?! I'm done!! read more

Ran over a razorblade on highland yesterday right after this place closed. Called them and they stayed open and waited for me to come down to look at my tire. Moses said to leave it overnight and he would replace it as the gash was probably to big to fix. He called me the next morning and told me they were able to repair it, to come grab my tire and when I did, they put it back on for me. For $25. Wouldn't take another penny. Amazing service. I wanted to like RDB so bad. They were around the corner at their old location and I got into an accident so towed the car there. Sarkis was quick off the mark and friendly and said that if I put down $200, they could get started right away instead of waiting for my insurance company. He said once insurance pays, they'd give me the money back. I needed my car ASAP, so I put the money down. Fast forward to the end, and now he has told me that they had to do two alignments and numerous other things that they didn't charge insurance for, so he's not refunding me. I wouldn't have minded so much apart from the fact that the first I heard of all this work was after everything had been completed. Had to end up taking the car to another repair shop who were way better. Please don't ever take a car to this shop you will regret it. Overpriced and are basically a joke.
