Flight 11:11 My flight had an Angel Number I just knew it was going to be a great time . This was my first time experiencing Reagan National . It is very easy to navigate. TSA was not a nightmare and my American Airline flight was on time. Of course the food was expensive so I ate a meal before I came to Reagan. I didn't check my bags . If you have the app for your airline you can by pass checking in at the kiosk. The bathrooms were clean and if I needed help the staff was very helpful. read more

Terminal E is the place to be. It's the hub used for American Airlines departures and arrivals. It's pretty quiet at the end of the airport. Great food and beverage options. My only wish is for more seating options. There aren't enough seats to accommodate the customers awaiting their flight. It forces random folks lingering around, or hanging out at the restaurants longer than intended to maintain seating. Otherwise, this place is great! read more

It's actually been a long time since I have flown through (or to) Washington DC and gone to any airport in the DC area. I recently had a layover at DCA when traveling from Phoenix to Toronto on American Airlines. I enjoyed the layover and found the airport, its staff, and the airline lounges all to be very convenient and helpful. I learned on this visit though that locals and frequent flyers typically call it "National" or "DCA" while out-of-town visitors call it "Reagan." I used all three interchangeably so I'm not sure what that means for me. The clubs and lounges in DCA Airport are much better than usual and there are more of them than usual. I have two travel premium credit cards: the AAdvantage Executive Mastercard offering complimentary Admirals Club access (including the locations near gates C24 and in concourses B and E) and the American Express Platinum card offering other lounge access (including the Centurion Lounge near the B gates and the Delta Sky Club near B15 if I was flying Delta). Other lounges include the United Club near B11 and the Capital One Landing in the main connector area. The Admirals Club near the E gates was incredible and a newly reimagined lounge. My AMEX Platinum also provides travel credits along with complimentary CLEAR and Global Entry membership. There is also the USO Center in Terminal 1. The DCA airport's website (https://www.flyreagan.com) shows ways to enhance your trip or even how to make the most of your summer with a summer travel guide. There are 87 shops and restaurants in the airport with new ones always being added. If you're going to be parking at DCA often, sign up for their PassPark Rewards program (https://parking.flyreagan.com/passpark-rewards). Airport amenities in addition to airport lounges include charging stations, free WiFI, a concierge, baggage carts, and interfaith chapel, kids play space, nursing rooms, pet relief areas, and more. It really does feel that the airport staff put a lot of intentional effort into making sure everyone feels welcome and that there's something at the airport for everyone. I certainly won't mind a layover at DCA in the future! read more

Airport - the DCA I've connected through here a few times and for my last visit, I actually had this as a destination / departure airport. Getting out of this airport was relatively easy: plenty of signs pointed the way to the rental car shuttles and I was on my way in a jiff. For the return you really notice that this place has been around for a long time based on the architecture. Rental car drop was a snap and the shuttles get you to the terminals in short order. I loved the bronze statue of Ronald Reagan that is standing out front of Terminal 1 (old terminal) and the adjacent Terminal 2 appears to be the more modern add-on to the original airport. TSA and security lines went smoothly and I had plenty of time to kill so walked around and noticed the abundance of shops and places to eat. Restrooms were very clean and well lit. Just a very good experience both coming and going. read more

Airport was easily accessible via the Metro system. We were in Terminal 2 serving American Airlines and it appeared updated and well maintained. Plenty of restaurants, gate seating, charging stations, and restroom facilities. read more

This airport is truly beautiful and clean. It is a much nicer, quieter and cheaper connecting place. I had a much better experience going into DCA then I did trying to leave DCA for 3 days, cancellation after cancellation with weather and crew. read more

Great experience from beginning to end checked in my bag with no delays, went through TSA pre-check got a complimentary upgrade to CLEAR went through the line less than 10 minutes sitting at my gate waiting to fly out a great experience from the DCA airport staff and American Airlines staff! read more

On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the American Airlines gate agent (there was only one) at gate D45 for AA4431 was completely rude, unhelpful and nasty. I cannot believe she has this job which she obviously hates. Well - wait a minute - maybe I'm wrong. Maybe she loves her job but just hates me!! Whatever the reason, she was an example of customer service at its WORST!!! read more

TSA pre-check line was long, but fast moving this morning. Had plenty of time to stop for Starbucks on my way to the gate. The gate area had plenty of seating options available most with electrical outlets for charging and there was even a tables with 8 charging stations. For the number of people In the gate area, it's very quiet as the sun rises over DC. read more

Although the walk from winter rental to another, maybe a little bit too much for some of, it's an experience to take in all of the different shops and food options while you're there during your layover or on your final destination. read more

The other terminals C, D,& E at Reagan national are just as equally nice as the main A & B. TSA has now become 2 check in areas and seem to be much quicker. Once in you can actually go to any terminal you want. There are different food and coffee options at all the different terminals. If you have the time and you need to get some exercise in this is also a great place to walk around read more

Love this airport a whole lot more now that they've connected all the terminals. The food selections are great and it's so nice that Starbucks is finally post security. The only thing that I don't love is the southwest terminal, which can be very limited in the food choices. I am usually flying American or JetBlue so those have lots of good local food options and shopping. There's good free Wi-Fi and lots of charging ports read more

This terminal is nicely decorated, well kept, and offers many options for food and drink. Random but the bathroom is well designed and maintained in the American Airlines area, and I appreciated this, especially after having flown through so many airports with bathrooms that don't easily and hygienic ally enable you to manage your bags, phone, keys, et cetera. read more

Here for a lay over. The airport is easy to navigate. Loved the family restroom, spacious and clean. Saddened I as there at 9 pm and couldn't find any hot tea. All coffee places were closed. read more

This airport is drastically improved following construction over the past few years which, at that time, required a shuttle to navigate from terminal to terminal (or a walk and recheck at the next gate's security!). My experience with flights in and out is relatively good-I'd estimate 90% on time. New restaurant options are in progress and will hopefully be open soon. The layout is good and the airport is clean. I'm deducting one star because the airport doesn't quite have the amenities, including updates, of some of the newer airports. read more

Reagan national airport terminal C. This is the new terminal that opened a few weeks ago for American Airlines. For decades those of us who flew out of Reagan on American Airlines regional carriers were forced to use gate 35X which frankly was one step above the third world. The new terminal C is huge, and a welcome change. Outstanding job American Airlines. RIP 35X read more

*I had added a business called Reagan National Terminal C - Someone changed the name the next day... It's new and clean but there's (currently) not too many places to eat at. The restaurants are coming... So there are only 2 places to go for food or drink. (See my 2 photos). Also there are not enough seats while waiting for your flight. I did not enjoy this terminal. Finding Terminal C was a little challenging (From Terminal A). They didn't put prices on the 2 salads I bought. The checkout was a joke with no table or counter1 to put your items down on. read more

Our complaint would be utilizing the rental car service at this airport is difficult if your hours are not during standard operating hours. If the flight is an early departure, it can be difficult to get around because the airport does not offer shuttle service from the rental car area to the main terminal area during early hours. Additionally, we found rental cars were sorely underserved and were forced to wait more than two hours upon arrival to get our rental car. This was the same across all major rental car brands. So much so, that customers in each of the different brands were seeing cars picked off as they became available by the other rental car counters. It was a strange and inconvenient if not aggravating situation.

Since we are usually flying into DC as opposed to out, it's easy to access all the major points so long as traffic isn't bad or during rush hour. From the terminals, you can see the U.S. Capital and the Washington Monument looking firm and erect, erect and firm. And if you want to access DC via the metro, there is a station right there to take you into town within 10 to 15 minutes. Arlington is right there as is the Pentagon. One of the better airports in the country.

It's totally anecdotal, but it just seem to flow better. Security at DCA tends to be smoother than other airports possibly due to its smaller size and the high number of frequent fliers so don't discount the South Tier however. The TSA agents are efficient, and the setup was designed after 9/11, so it's built to accommodate large numbers of people unlike the security areas at a lot of other airports. I rarely am in line for more than 5 minutes (I have PreCheck), they also have Clear lanes for those who have joined that program. Read th signs on the lanes (General boarding, PreCheck, or Clear. They often leave it up to people to read the signs and the TSA agents will kick you right back to the end of the line if you get in the PreCheck line without actually having PreCheck.

Then once we get into the next line to strip down....kidding...just the normal routine shoes, any pocket items, metals items, laptops..etc. Since I have my dogs I have to place everything on the belt and wait for it to go by and then go through the walking metal detector rather than the standing arms up your under arrest stance detector. Any who as soon as I walked through the walking detector I was greeted by a smiling TSA worker that adored my dogs. As many may not know they will wipe both your hands down so they can see what chemicals you may be carrying. So after that they put it in a machine and I have to wait. Once I was cleared, on to getting my stuff. All in all I received a great experience and appreciated all the smiles!!!

It was pretty cool to hear people cheering throughout the terminal! One thing I wasn't prepared for, was how bumpy and abrupt the landing was. I didn't know it at the time, but a family friend informed us afterward that due to the location and the turn planes need to make prior to landing, that tends to be a common occurrence at this airport.
