If you're looking for authentic Mexican fare with great service, this place ain't it. I'm giving 2 stars simply because they serve good chips & salsa & they even have a bean dip for the chips before your meal. I ordered a 3 item combo with a burrito, flauta & taco. I received a small flour tortilla wrapped wrapped around shredded chicken as my burrito, a soggy hard shelled taco that was mostly shredded cheese & lettuce & instead of a flauta - they gave me an itty bitty taquito as my 3rd item. The beans & rice were tasty, but the portion of everything was minimal. $16.50 (including guacamole & sour cream). It wasn't worth it. The moment we were greeted by our server, he asked us if we wanted margaritas & we said no thanks cause we didn't want to drink. The water tasted fine & its all we needed. His entire demeanor shifted. He checked out completely - I would even call it rude. I wanted to order the flan & he dropped the check before I could ask for dessert. Awful experience, will never be back. The flavor of the food was mostly tasty - I just didn't get what I ordered & when I did say something to the server, he literally walked away as I tried to bring it up. The food was average and the service was just short of a complete disaster. We walked in and stood around for about 5 minutes before we were seated. There was no line and the place was half empty. After being seated, we were asked if we were ready to order. We requested a couple more minutes to decide. The waiter did not return for almost 20 minutes. In fact, we were talking about just getting up and leaving. The chips were fine and the salsa was pretty good. I ordered the costillitas verde and my wife ordered the paella. The Spanish rice was clearly left out, uncovered for too long because there were lots of rice that was hard and stale. The ribs looked like it was going to be tough, but it was actually cooked perfectly. The sauce was good too. Refried beans are just refried beans. I got flour tortilla and would have rather had corn tortilla. Also I doubt the tortilla was made in-house, which was disappointing. My wife's paella tasted okay. Some of the seafood was cooked perfectly and some of the seafood was rubbery. Our waters were never refilled. My cup was empty by the time I was about 75% done with my meal. When we asked for a check, it took the waiter another 10 minutes to get back to us. And when he brought us our check, we noticed that other tables got their check in a bi-fold, but we didn't. I don't normally care how the bill is presented to us, but when we're getting unequal treatment, it doesn't feel good. And it's not like they ran out of bi-folds because another table got their bill in one AFTER we got ours. The price was not great either. So basically you pay above average price for food on the lower side of average and horrible service. read more

My frozen strawberry margarita was barely pink tinted, had no flavor and tasted like an ice water slushy. My steak fajitas had no flavor at all. We went to their new location in Aurora. First, it was SUPER icy out and they didn't salt their sidewalks, everyone was sliding and slipping everywhere! A man went flying into me because it was so slippery! The inside was nice and we were seated quickly! Chips, salsa, and bean dip were brought over SUPER fast as well as our drink order taken. WARNING- salsa AND bean dip are very spicy! I love spicy but my stomach does not and we have kiddos who could not eat it. Our waiter was excellent but the food seemed microwaved. Again, the enchilada sauce was SO hot my 10-year-old, who loves spice only could get a few bites in. For a kids meal, I found this odd! Rice tasted and looked microwaved. They get 3 stars because the staff was amazing and odd enough my youngest kiddos cheeseburger was amazing! I would go there just for a burger! Went there for the first time this past weekend during the COVID-19, establishment was clean inside and out. Me and a few of my friends sat out on the patio and enjoyed a nice meal and fellowship amongst ourselves and other guest that were there. The service was exceptional, the bussers sprayed and wiped down every table and chair before reseating anyone else. The food and pitcher of margarita we had was great, definitely will be back! Been searching for some good authentic mexican food since moving to the state other than Laloma, I'm happy I found another spot! read more

My husband use to come here a long time ago and it was delicious. The last couple years the food has really gone down hill. There Is just no seasoning and itd bland and not authentic at all. I ordered something that I thought would be hard to mess up, Carne asada tacos. The meat was super fatty, And I had to ask for the cilantro onion and lime and salsa on the side. My husband's enchilads were gross. The salsas were good though, and the customer service wasn't bad, she was training somebody so she was doing alot at once. Food comes out another 20 minutes later..cold...they forgot my husbands tortillas, we weren't given any silverware. We kept asking different waiters and waitresses for things our waiter kept forgetting. Like I said, I'm very understanding when a restaurant is busy but it was DEAD for a Saturday night! It took 20 minutes to then flag our waiter down when we were actually ready for our check and I kindly let him know to remove the margarita from the check since it was never brought out to me. The last straw was when another waitress approaches me with HORRIBLE HORRIBLE (eyebrows/makeup) attitude and says "I heard there was a problem with your margarita? Did you not like it or what?!".. I was baffled at her disrespectful customer service and responded that there was no problem, that it just needed to be taken off our check because it was never brought out to me! She rudely walked off and then handed our waiter an updated check. We still tipped the waiter, he seemed a little new at his job and he was still very kind despite all the discrepancies. But the female waitress who thinks its ok to talk to customers so rudely needs to be fired!! We will NEVER be returning and we will definitely NEVER recommend. Seriously, Los Dos Potrillos down the road has way better food and EXTREMELY BETTER service. read more

My kids took me out for an early Mother's Day. We have been here in the past and enjoyed the restaurant. My kids ordered the fajitas for 2 with half steak, half chicken and I ordered a taco salad with ground beef wit the guacamole on the side. Our food came out very quickly to our surprise because they were pretty busy. My kids' fajitas was steak only which they were still ok with. My taco salad looked amazing. The salad was almost to the top of the shell but the only downside was that the guacamole was not on the side like I had asked. I did spoon it off onto another plate though. I broke part of the taco salad shell and discovered that the meat on my taco salad was chicken. We waited for 23 minutes (we timed it) trying to get our servers attention. I let her know that I had ordered a taco salad with ground beef and the taco salad she brought had chicken. She replied to me, "I know" and took the plate to the back. She came back 5 minutes later with a tiny taco salad. It did not look anything like the first one and instantly regretted I did not take a picture of the first one. I did take pictures of the tiny taco salad she did bring out. At that point, I was so sad and disappointed that I just wanted to leave. This was no where near the value of $13 for this taco salad. The rest of our visit, our server Jessica would not acknowledge me and only talked to my kids. I was never impolite to her which is why I do not understand why she was treating me like this. I truly just wanted to cry but did not want to upset my kids who really wanted to take me out for Mother's Day. Even when I asked for a box and told her thank you, she only acknowledged my daughter. The only reason why I gave 2 stars and not 1 is because my kids's fajitas were really good per them. read more

Party of 4 visited on Saturday around 3 oclock in the afternoon not super busy but looked like a good place to have a late lunch. First thing we noticed when we sat down was the TV above us was playing some sort of crime drama with guy getting stabbed, Not that I cared very much but the kids at the next table were a little young to be watching that stuff in my opinion maybe be more selective with programming in a family restaurant. Chips tasted a little stale told the waitress and she brought us more chips I think she just brought us back the same basket. Salsa was good and tasty. 4 different dishes were ordered and we all agreed that they lacked flavor. My wife had been there before and ordered the same thing but said it tasted better the first time. My favorite place to get Mexican! The tacos are wonderful and authentic. I always judge on the quality of beef. There's is nicely seasoned and doesn't have huge chunks of fat that a lot of places use for filler. Salsa is fresh and homemade with just the right amount of kick.
