It happens over and over again. It was delicious bread but something changed. So I threw out 3-4 loaves of bread (I always buy 5-6). Wasted my money and time. I drive 20 minutes every week to get this bread but now I stop to go there. I have told them a million times to make sure the bread is cooked through because the inside is raw. They are selling expired products!!! Please check the expiration date of everything before you buy. I already told them but they did nothing. Not halal

I was in the neighborhood and stopped off to pick up some goodies. They have the giant fresh baked bread which was very good. Check out their kebabs as well. Apparently, they are only available on Saturdays after 1! I have to go back.

Don't miss the fresh baked Btead from this place! I was there this Sunday to get some. This bread tastes phenomnal with Feta Cheese and Eggs. The bread is crisp and delicious. We freeze the left overs which tastes good after toastig. But the experience of the fresh baked bread is priceless. Try to get there by 11 am before the bread gets packed (2 per bag) into plastic bags which makes them softer.

This store is HARAM!! They steal peoples money. Stay away from this store, they over charge people. I purchased this halawa about 2 days ago. And I was surprised when I see my charge in my CC. I bought halawa and btl of water and they charged me for $23!!! It clearly says on the top of the container that halawa was only $5.99. Never again purchasing from this store. Never offered a receipt. Check the other comments on this store and they experience the same thing. I called today to tell them that they doing wrong. The boss doesn't wanna talk to me. I even told them it's haram to steal peoples money. Stay away from this store!

I wanted to like this spot more than I did. It's very clean and seems well organized. But the main…read morereason I went there was to sample their prepared hot food. There was no hot food prepared and no explanation as to why or when it would return. That could be just the day I chose, but my bigger problem is that virtually nothing is priced in the entire store! There's stuff out on tables, no price tag anywhere, no nothing. For some things in the cold case there is a piece of paper stuck on the side and if you can match up your item to the paper, you're in luck. But there are things on the shelf that aren't on the paper. My philosophy on this is "If you can't be bothered to price it, I can't be bothered to buy it." I refuse to go find someone to ask a price on every single item I might want to buy. I'll leave instead. When asking the friendly staff member at the register about the lack of hot foods, there was a prepared item there that looked good so I broke my own rule and asked. His accent made me believe it was one price, so I decided to get it, only to find out it was twice what I thought I'd heard! I bought it anyway, a package of four aloo paratha, which was really tasty but much spicier than I had expected. I may go back to see if the hot foods return (there is a digital menu above with prices already) but unless things on shelves are priced, I won't be shopping the rest of the store.

I've been on an aged balsamic vinegar and olive oil binge lately, and have checked out a bunch of shops ranging from San Diego to Carmel Valley near Carmel-by-the-Sea. I was excited to potentially discover a closer source of high quality balsamic vinegar and olive oil. To assess how good of a product they had, I asked for the 25 year aged balsamic and the Picual EVOO. The 25 year aged balsamic was quite watery, had OK flavor (just a bunch of basic berry and grape flavors, no honey), and had too much of a vinegary bite. In comparison, the 25 year aged balsamic that I had in Carmel Valley poured like molasses with an incredible mouthfeel, much richer and more complex flavors including oak cask flavor and an ultra-long wildflower honey note finish. Next up was the Picual EVOO. Honestly, I didn't really taste very much aside from a light olive aroma. Felt very watery, not much of that green/herbal note, no sharpness, just a whole lot of nothing. This was even more disappointing than the 25 year Balsamic. The Picual I had in Carmel Valley was punchy as it should be, tons of fresh herbs, grass, spice all up front. I don't know if it's potentially a difference in first extraction vs using the remnants/grinds. But I cannot recommend the olive oil at all. The drive really is worth it guys, until an actual proper EVOO and Vinegar places shows up in South Bay at least.

It did have a lot of sugar, but it was pretty similar flavor-wise to Indian chai (sans milk), so it paired very well with our order. We ordered the chicken suqaar and the beef wrap. We opted for the chapati (sabaayad in Somali) with the chicken suqaar, but would love to try their rice or their version of injera during our next visit! The menu at first glance looks kinda confusing since they have Lunch in big letters on one side with a ton of their dishes and Dinner on the other side with the remainder of the dishes, making it seem like a few items are available during this time... but the Lunch portion just states that it comes with a side of rice, pasta, chapati, or injera (which is the same as Dinner...) so kind of an interesting stylistic choice there, but this is to say that everything on the menu is available the whole time they're open. The meals were so flavorful- the chicken suqaar had a ton of onions, carrots, chicken, green-bean like veggie, and spices, and was served with a green sauce that had kind of a habanero or jalapeno taste to it. The beef wrap was huge and I only ate half of one for dinner- it was flavored so well and the beef was cooked perfectly. This came with a side of the green sauce and a white sauce. I'd love to return and try their injera with chicken, kay kay chicken, beef suqaar or beef steak, and their sambusas! I saw some on another diner's plate and it looked sizable and filling. Jubba is located right next to a VTA light rail and an apartment complex so there's decent foot traffic, but overall, a wonderful place to try and eat!

I thought some dishes were great; the wagyu burger was decadent. Other dishes were not that special. The scallops didn't taste too fresh (likely frozen) and combining them with hummus didn't quite work. The side of bread was practically insulting. $5 for stale table bread was a surprise. Dishes arrived very late; we were nearly forgotten when we tried to order, and then after ordering, we waited 40 minutes between appetizers and the main course. Not because they were cooking it; they just forgot we were there and when they brought out the dishes, the scallops were no longer just-cooked, and the burger had been sitting for a bit. No apology, just an acknowledgment it was late, and no discount (not even on the stale bread). They offered us wine, we said we didn't drink, and they just moved on.
