We hired Pablo and his crew to completely remodeled our kitchen and remove a wall to open up our dining room and living room. They put in all new flooring, new windows and sliding door, and built a long buffet and cabinets along one wall. We couldn't be happier with the result. The work was very professional. Everything was expertly executed and the project came in right on schedule. The cost for the work was very competitive. The living area is beautiful. They even helped us move our stuff out and set up a living room in the garage. We highly recommend Real Vida Remodeling! We needed our two bathrooms renovated and found Pablo (owner) on Yelp. The 5 stars are definitely valid. He was the only one out of the five contractors we looked at who - had a reasonable price - who didn't try to sell us a bunch of other things - who was honest and genuine when asked for advice. Pablo and his crew were amazing! They always showed up on time, they stuck to the plan and contract discussed, I always was informed on what's happening each day and the following and they always cleaned up and tidied up before they left for the day. Very important to us so we could still somewhat live in our home. They did an amazing job and covered all of our floors, including our carpeted stairs, pulled up a plastic wall with door to separate the en-suite bathroom from the master bedroom to limit dust in all the other rooms. They covered all of the steps with clear wrap and there were no stains what so ever. The whole team was very mindful of our home and didn't damage anything. Mind you our house is on 3 levels so they had to cover a lot of ground. Pablo was very flexible! Unfortunately on demolition day we found mold and termites. Also the wall where our recessed mirrors were supposed to go was not set up to easily get this done and we decided last minute to change our textured walls to flat walls. All of this didn't phase Pablo and his crew. They just went with it, fixed our mold issue, treated the termites, rerouted pipes and studs to accommodate our mirrors and created beautiful flat walls for us. The estimate to get both bathrooms done was conservative, 6-8weeks. They did a hell of a job and finished within 5.5 weeks, no shortcuts and everything beautifully finished, as you can see in the pictures. We will definitely use Real Vida Remodeling again for future projects. read more

Quick review: Pablo and his team brought our kitchen vision to life! Fair quote and time for the project. Pablo really takes on a lot to ensure that we (as his clients) didn't get burdened with stress that comes with renovations. Highly recommend Real Vida to anyone looking to renovate their home.  Long review: Alright so this was our first journey into renovations. We asked around town, got a couple quotes and Pablo gave us the best quote. He's funny and communicative which made this process a whole lot better since this was our first time renovating. He doesn't have design services but he can recommend some aspects based on his previous work but it will be up to you as the client for final design calls. We ran into bumps along the road which derailed the project a bit. Pablo was able to handle the extra workload and contact the right people to get the job done. Me and my boyfriend didn't have to worry or stress about that since Pablo had our back. He'd call with updates and tell us what was happening along the way. One thing that set Pablo aside from other quotes we got was people charging for an overhead fee for anything that was out of the scope of the project. For us this ended up being some paint and small parts and plywood as there was some mold when he opened the floor. Pablo brought receipts of everything and we paid for anything outside of our quoted project, where most contractors wanted to charge us up front for something we didn't even know we would need. Overall his team cleans up every day after themselves which made a big difference since we were living in the house while this was happening. His team didn't feel intrusive or like they were disrespecting our space at all. Cons: * Pablo says he is very busy, and will forget things that he has said to you earlier in the construction process. He acts so busy that it makes you feel like he is not giving you his 100% time and effort. * During walkthrough before construction Pablo will say things like "Yeah no worries we can totally do that" making you believe they are included in the bid price, but Pablo will then ask for reimbursement after the fact. * Some final touch-ups were not completed (paint in certain corners, old nails not removed and patched, etc.) Overall: I would definitely use Real Vida Remodeling again for a future remodel. Pablo completed the remodel of a bathroom and kitchen in my Mission Hills condo. Both the bathroom and kitchen were dark closed off spaces and involved removal of walls and moving of plumbing/electrical. The bathroom was also converted from a bathtub to a step in shower. We needed a quick tile job for one room. We had purchased all the materials and room was , but needed skilled labor to put the floor in . I was worried no one would want such a small job. I contacted five contractors only four got back to me . Two gave me an estimate via email by looking at pictures . I felt the estimate were little bit high for such a small job . And the one said he could consider the job but not for a month. Only Pablo Rubio came out to look at the job site. He emailed me a written estimate that evening with the best quote of everyone. Work was rushed, baseboard looks like crap. Pablo missed an whole wall with baseboard, I see nails all over the place. Its not even third class work at best. Wost contractor i have ever used, he he did a quick walk trough and seemed rushed i kept having to show him problem areas and he dint even fix some of the issues i did point out. I have to hire someone else to re-do the work. Absolutly horrible horrible! !!job Also his response is to this comment is a lie; I told him several times during the project his finished areas were not acceptable. He did touch up a few but missed so much work. In the end I just wanted him out of my house as it became obvious it bothered him every time I brought up an issue. The more I looked at my baseboard the more I noticed the bad workman ship I have only had good experiences with my other contractors I have hired dozens of them over the last year from painter and kitchen remodelers and never had one problem, I understand little things can be overlooked but I had to constantly bring up issues to be fixed and even those where not addressed. I should stick to recommended contractors rather than yelp reviewed one. !!! He had a hell of a time with the nearly 400 pound double oven but never gave up and it turned out excellent. Was referred to Pablo via a friend of a friend... I am so glad that I ended up calling him. We were searching yelp / instagram for local contractors and everyone we have dealt with so far has been more stress than they are worth. That is no where near the case with Pablo and his team. From the first day Pablo came in to quote the job, I knew we were going to move forward with him. Probably the most responsive contractor I have met. He is always quick to explain things that come up, and problem solving any thing we ran into. We had a few small issues and one large issue that Pablo noticed and solved before even talking to me (of course explained it all before proceeding). I was stressed out when the job was starting due to some potential PTSD with previous contractors used on our kitchen remodel. The first day in and I was not needed at all except for some approval sign offs. Pablo truly goes the extra mile in making sure the project gets completed PROPERLY (cannot emphasize this enough) and removed ANY concerns I had. I know I will be using Pablo / team for any future projects, and referring every one I know. My brother is about to kick off a project in a few months and is already planning with Pablo. 10/10. Real Vida Remodeling just completed our home remodel project. This was a big job. They opened up the kitchen to the rest of the house by removing a wall. They also opened up and enlarged our master bath by removing another wall. Both bathrooms and the kitchen were a complete gut and remodel. We had ceiling fans installed in 3 rooms, all new baseboards throughout the house and a full interior house painting. They replaced a water heater and some plumbing. Overall, we were really happy with the job. It was a long commute for all of the workers. Pablo was very hands on and we appreciated the constant communication. There were a few hiccups but, I think there are with every remodel. We were given a very good price and the work is really good. Our home is beautiful and very livable now. I would recommend having a clear idea of your design and materials. Pablo had some great ideas but, the overall design and materials are up to the homeowner. Be clear and in writing about what work will be done. Pablo was great about changes and he worked very hard to get the materials that we needed on site. We were not living in the home when the work was being done which was another plus but, it was sometimes hard to get to the site when things needed to be approved.
