Cheesecake is 10 years old and had never been neutered. The Vet team at Muddypaws are terrific! Cheesy kept getting UTIs because his prostate gland was inflamed. He went on antibiotics several times and we had to reschedule his procedure 3 times! Dr. Miller was great! He understood and accommodated our situation. Dr. Miller neutered Cheesecake on 11/13. Our family adopted a dog from one of NDLB's Chinese Sanctuaries in East Asia 7 months ago. I have…read morenothing but praise for all of the staff encountered throughout our adoption process, (which from start to finish took a little more than three months). NDLB is an incredible 501(c) (3) non-profit and their global mission of rescuing dogs and cats from immense suffering and complete abandonment, along with their exceptional care and concern for each survivor (no matter the gravity of each animal's injuries), is nothing short of outstanding. The dog we happened to adopt is a Japanese Akita Inu and happens to go by the name Romeo because he happened to be saved from slaughter on Valentine's Day (on February 14, 2020). The founder of NDLB , Jeff Beri, and his crew actually risked their lives twice to save our dog. Once (due to the strict Covid-19 Restrictions in China at that time and a second time to challenge the people who were about to slaughter him). I personally found all of the NDLB staff I interfaced with during the adoption process very personable and easy to connect with. More importantly, I found the staff demonstrated great care and concern for their animals throughout the adoption process. While waiting for Romeo's freedom flight to New York, we received multiple videos and photo's along with ongoing communication from the NDLB Chinese staff who were with him daily. The New York staff made sure I (along with my husband), understood all the possible challenges that came with adopting a dog from overseas and wanted to make sure we were up for this type of challenge. All I can say is Romeo has completely changed our family's life. Our family over the years has had three dogs. Romeo was our first overseas adoption, by far, he is the most considerate dog we have ever had the pleasure of owning, and is always looking out for our well-being. One last positive has been, over the past months, being able to maintain on going contact with Romeo's team in China, and being able to send photos and videos of him here having all sorts of fun in the USA. I began working…read moreaway from home and I tried multiple dog sitters/ walkers but Pharaoh simply refused to go with them. Having him at home alone for 10 hours wasn't something I could live with. This was a rather difficult decision and making sure that he wasn't going to end up in a kill shelter and would land with a loving home was paramount for me. I reached out to Bobbi via phone and her assistance shared he would have her contact me. Later that evening, I got a call from her. She asked me to submit a pic and information about my dog. I complied and she was very responsive. Over the next couple days we went back and forth with the logistics. She reassured me that she did have space for him, that he would be cared for and that she wouldn't let him go until she was convinced he'd be well taken care of. We made a plan for me to bring him. Bawling, I showed up on 9/18/23 to surrender him. Listen, I read all the reviews and I heard the complains about Bobbi and how she needs to work on decorum and phone manners. I'm not making excuses for that, however under the slightly abrasive demeanor, she has a heart for these animals and handled both me and Pharaoh with care. That day, she hugged and consoled me and took Pharaoh and immediately gave him kisses. I filled out paperwork and gave her all his documents (vet, microchip info, registration with the city) and the surrender fee. Bobbi gave me updates on him and after two weeks Pharaoh was placed with a retired family with other Yorkies who could give him the care and attention he deserves. Seeing him with them was bitter sweet but I knew it was the right thing to do. Bobbi was kind enough to send me a photo of him when I was struggling with missing him. I know she may not sound like the sweetest via the phone but I promise she loves the animals and is committed to doing the right thing.

Bobbi truly need to work on how they process their adopters. There are plenty of good people wanting to give furry family members a wonderful home. Looking for a pet, please go to our local shelters. There is one on Flushing Ave near the Onderdonk House. I am sure they are not disrespectful and inappropriate as Bobbi's place. Best of luck

Meet and greet was easy and everyone hog along wonderfully so the adoption was finalized and we could not be happier. I started volunteering with this rescue because I believe in the cause and the process and the people in this rescue! If I had any reservations I'd be volunteering elsewhere Most of the negative reviews are from people who were not chose for a particular dog because of the dog's specific needs or personality or because they were unsuitable adopters (dogs are not vaccinated or spay/neutered, lied on the application, etc). Sometimes people have their heart set on a popular dog and it's hard for fosters but they will pick the absolute best home possible so they have the best chance at a FOREVER home possible. Some people don't want to admit they aren't the best fit and retaliate in the reviews so please read negative reviews with a grain of salt. Talk to the volunteers who are also adopters. There is a reason for their loyalty. It's because this organization is amazing and the leaders and volunteers are as well!
