Well long story short. I ended up with a car my ex-wife was using and without notice she just…read moredropped if off at my sister's house as I live and work in a different state. I immediately flew that same day to Michigan to handle this unexpected and untimely event. I thought i had another car company buying the car. I send all the required paperwork. I waited two days for them to come and get the car and after the test drive they decided that they wouldn't buy it. Now I'm all freaked out. I have a vehicle registerd in a state I no longer live in and nowhere to go and I need to get back to work on the East Coast. A friend offered to let me keep the car at hos place while I try and figure things out. As I am driving the vehicle to my friend's house ...thank you Jesus...I get a call from Bryan from Give Me the Vin who gives me an offer and explains the process. I immediately take pictures and send over the documents as this is Friday late afternoon. I am informed that it will all be reviewed the following Monday and should receive a FedEx overnight with the paperwork to sign. As promised Tuesday I receive the paperwork and send it back out with the docs signed. WEd afternnon I get a text confirming everthing has been received. a couple hours later transportation company calls to pick up the vechicle. The following day another text all is complete and given the go ahead and cash the check. I made this process stressful but Give Me The Vin did not. Answered phone calls, texts and emails promptly. Communicated the entire process and held my hand to the end. Now this was a lower offer then what i originally received, but in the end Give Me The Vin stood by their word which means a lot. The car is a 2014 Toyota Scion xB, and it seemed fine during the test drive. However, on March 28, I noticed that whenever I stopped at a stop sign, the engine made a strange noise. Something didn't feel right. I texted the salesperson, Melanie, but received no response. I then went to the shop and explained the issue. They test-drove the car, and I also mentioned that I had already filled the gas tank twice within a week. They told me to bring the car back the next day. I brought the vehicle in early the following morning. They said a mechanic would fix it, and later they called to say the car was ready. This was on March 29, 2026. However, it was a late call, and I didn't have enough time to pick it up. After two days, the check engine light came on. I texted Henry, and he told me to bring the vehicle back. On March 31, 2026, I dropped it off again. They said they would fix it, but after leaving it there all day, nothing was repaired. Instead, they told me to come back early on April 3. I returned again, having to use Uber, which was very frustrating. It's disappointing to buy a vehicle with engine problems, especially since this dealership was recommended by my cousin. I trusted them, but they have not been helpful at all. I have a 5-year-old child who needs to get to school, and I also need a reliable vehicle for work. I'm worried about my safety--what if the engine fails completely? The check engine light is still on, and it feels like they don't care. I plan to report this to the DMV because of their lack of action and concern for customer safety. I strongly advise others not to buy a vehicle from this place. If you do, make sure to bring an expert mechanic to inspect the engine. They don't even provide a proper service history of the vehicle. I hope they learn to treat customers better, but based on my experience, they do not care. Once you purchase a vehicle, they only seem interested in getting good ratings. He then tried to bait and switch on the payment after offering $250. The tow truck driver "only has a check." Recycling companies are notorious for paying with check that bounce. All they need as the title signed and they got all the leverage. He said "just take picture of my truck" which I could not find the company on google maps. The guy acts like he is leaving then bust out $225 cash and said that's all he can I offer. I say no the offer is $250. He then pretends to leave again and then comes back with an offer of $225 plus $25 check but at this rate all trust is gone. Every one of these companies use the same shady tactics. I told you how companies like peddle offer checks and they end up bouncing and you said that's fine cause we pay cash. Look at the sass and disrespect in his response. They asked for photos of the title, our drivers licenses, and then my marriage certificate since the title didn't match the name on my ID. But it was a fairly easy process online. Since my schedule is limited, I actually put in for the car to be picked up. Originally, I had picked an evening timeframe and they called me an hour into that timeframe to tell me that they weren't able to send anyone. Pretty frustrating. But they did re-book it for the following day. The following day, someone did come during my appointment time. It was super easy! He was only here a few minutes and ran diagnostics on the car to make sure it was good to go. Handed me a check and then towed it away. You do have to pay $40 for them to come to you, but to me it was worth it. I was able to cash the check a day later and yeah, everything worked out great. I would definitely sell my car to Carvana again because they definitely did give me the best rate out of all the places here in Vegas.

Great customer service and genuine caring attitude on making sure all of my needs were met. More recently the attitude has changed. They really don't care if you buy the car you like. They know that they will eventually sell it to someone. Because of that, the 7 day money back guarantee is just a gimmick. If the car has scratches or chip they couldn't care less. You either buy it with the damage or you don't. It's no sweat off their backs. Like I said this is my fourth Carvana purchase. They have no problem watching your sale down and returns, as they just don't care. It wasn't always like this. I think their popularity went to their head. They would rather your deal go down in flames than to fix a scratch that they should have fix before they offered it for sale. They enjoy putting you in the position of either accepting damage or returning the car. So I will probably have to live with it because I like the car and it runs good. However, this will be the last time I use them. I guess my advice is if you like a vehicle from them, all due diligence is useless since they will not negotiate under any circumstance thus making their 7 days return policy useless as leverage on a purchase.
