To make a long story short, we had my husband's old car that we needed to get rid of ASAP. I went online to see if I could sell it to some car places here in Vegas, and Carvana gave me the best rate! Filling out the paperwork online was super easy. They asked for photos of the title, our drivers licenses, and then my marriage certificate since the title didn't match the name on my ID. But it was a fairly easy process online. Since my schedule is limited, I actually put in for the car to be picked up. Originally, I had picked an evening timeframe and they called me an hour into that timeframe to tell me that they weren't able to send anyone. Pretty frustrating. But they did re-book it for the following day. The following day, someone did come during my appointment time. It was super easy! He was only here a few minutes and ran diagnostics on the car to make sure it was good to go. Handed me a check and then towed it away. You do have to pay $40 for them to come to you, but to me it was worth it. I was able to cash the check a day later and yeah, everything worked out great. I would definitely sell my car to Carvana again because they definitely did give me the best rate out of all the places here in Vegas. read more

I am a four time Carvana buyer. My review is based on how things are run today, and not how they were years ago. The first two purchases were perfect! Great customer service and genuine caring attitude on making sure all of my needs were met. More recently the attitude has changed. They really don't care if you buy the car you like. They know that they will eventually sell it to someone. Because of that, the 7 day money back guarantee is just a gimmick. If the car has scratches or chip they couldn't care less. You either buy it with the damage or you don't. It's no sweat off their backs. Like I said this is my fourth Carvana purchase. They have no problem watching your sale down and returns, as they just don't care. It wasn't always like this. I think their popularity went to their head. They would rather your deal go down in flames than to fix a scratch that they should have fix before they offered it for sale. They enjoy putting you in the position of either accepting damage or returning the car. So I will probably have to live with it because I like the car and it runs good. However, this will be the last time I use them. I guess my advice is if you like a vehicle from them, all due diligence is useless since they will not negotiate under any circumstance thus making their 7 days return policy useless as leverage on a purchase. This would have been my second purchase with Carvana. Unfortunately they and their business partners dropped the ball and I would NOT do business with them again! I purchased a vehicle online and the brakes were making a loud screeching sound so Carvana convinced me to file a claim and I would not be charged a deductible since it was within the first 7 days of me owning the vehicle. I took the car to a shop in their network (Tire Choice) and upon inspection it was noted that the car needed new rotors, coolant hose, and shocks/ struts. The claim service company Silver Rock had requested photos. At the end of day I was told by an employee from the shop that they hadn't received the final approval from Silver Rock and they were closed Sundays so they would have to follow up on Monday. I was pretty busy Monday and I assumed my car was being worked on because I received a text from Silver Rock saying the claim has been initiated. When I called the shop in the afternoon the employee who answered the phone didn't know anything about my case and said he was the only one working. He even asked if I was calling the correct location. He eventually located the vehicle and said he was still waiting for approval. Silver Rock said they were still waiting on photos from the shop. At this point it had been 3 days of me dealing with this issue that I shouldn't have to deal with! So I requested a refund. Carvana definitely DID NOT perform a 150-point inspection on that vehicle! Unfortunately I WONT do business with Carvana or their business partner Tire Choice again. read more

Please consider this for using Carvana. Everything looked great online and the experience for purchase was easy. The cons: hard to get ahold of anyone before you pick up car to verify local pick-up info. I read several reviews of people getting cancelled on because car was not on-site only 30min before pick-up time. This beautiful car I bought (2019 Cadillac XT5 platinum) WREAKED of cigarette smoke. I had already made full payment for the car. I was pissed...nothing I could do except use 7 day return policy. I chose to try and clean the car, changed air filter (was filthy upon purchase), used ozone generator. Still a slight odor remains. Car was surface level clean upon inspection but filthy steering wheel and control knobs (used about 20 clorox wipes to clean off all the grime inside - they all came out filthy brown/dirty after multiple cleanings. Funny that I also saw a story on Amazon in a review of the ozone generator I bought that a person had the same experience of getting a smoke smelling car FROM CARVANA which caused them to have the same problem...so this is not a one time thing. I feel that Carvana was not upfront about cigarette stench infiltrating car...that's shady and unethical business practice in my opinion. Luckily following the purchase, the customer service phone number was helpful in recovering my cleaning costs of the car and refunding the excess registration costs they charged me, but I would NOT do a purchase through them ever again due to the dishonest/omitted info of disgusting car odor. They should have NEVER offered up this car for sale in that condition for being a dealer. That would never happen at a brick & mortar dealership. Really great experience! We did the vending machine to purchase our 2020 Chevy Bolt and the service was top notch. Damien and his manager were both kind and helpful. The whole process took about 30 minutes since most was done online and we also sold them our car. Vehicle was at described except we noticed two chips in the window that most likely happened on transport because they were not in the pictures on the add. When we pointed them out the manager assured us they would be taken care of. The next morning we had a text from Carvana letting us know that Safelite would coming to our house to take care of it for us the next day. What an absolutely atrocious company. Full of scammers. I cannot believe the experience that I had with them. I ordered a vehicle to purchase, with a trade in. It was falsely advertised as 4wd. Upon arrival, I noticed that it was 2wd. They want to take your trade in quickly while you inspecting the new vehicle. The man working was hurriedly doing the paperwork and trying to take my car. I noticed the issue, and rejected the vehicle. The man gave me back my keys, insurance, and license, but kept my title. He said "a manager will have to call you tomorrow for the rest." NO ONE EVER CALLED ME. Countless calls to their customer service, texts to their chat line. I even went back into the storefront. Every representative that I spoke to acted so apologetic and concerned and promised me that management would contact me within the hour to help me. It's been over a week now. I have continued to call. Finally after calling yet again and demanding a manager, I spoke to someone who told me, "you'll have to just file for a lost title. Your title is gone. You should be able to get one quickly through the dmv. It's not a problem." Their blatant disregard for the ethics of their business is astounding. If you judge Carvana against the alternative rather than the almighty, I think you'll find a pretty good experience buying from Carvana. I went to two local dealerships that made me feel like I needed a shower afterwards. I'd rather pay more upfront to avoid working with dealerships...if you're a car person, maybe you relish that battle, but I just do not... The process was pretty smooth and although my car absolutely needed some work done that wasn't clear from the ad, the 14 and 100-day warranties / SilverRock people came through and basically held up their end. The one thing that made me livid and has to dock a full star when dealing with Carvana in Vegas is how the OTD price that includes registration is a full-blown lie and probably something they're open to a class-action suit on. They list it in your subtotal multiple times and even have the audacity to send automated text messages that your registration is complete, but the actual paperwork you'll sign doesn't include it. In my case the car had been registered out of state so I was on the hook for $800 because Nevada is just one of the states that Carvana DOES NOT handle registration for...and doesn't bother to clarify that AT ALL until after the sale. So if you go in with that expectation AND you don't need financing then the experience is better than a dealership for sure. read more
