Tacos were good but I guess we came at the wrong time they were out of a lot of things on the menu. Service was great and love the ambiance of the restaurant. I will return to try the tacos I came for

Stopped by this place with the family and some friends after a trip to hanson park. We were greeted by friendly staff. The decor in this place suits its name. I thought it had a cool vibe. They start you off with complimentary chips and salsa. The chips needed some salt but were fine with the salsa. We started off with the elote, which was solid. A bunch of us got the carne asada tacos, which were meh. It could have used some salt. I got a burrito, which was also just okay. The rice was bland and the carne asada slacked flavor. I really wanted to love this place as it's in an area thats happening right now. Also love tacos! But I wouldn't recommend this place as there are much better taco spots in the area.

Got their El Jefe and Super Pollo signature tacos togo. Took about 20 minutes to wait for the order. The El Jefe was good, beef was tender and had good seasoning. Super Pollo, not so super. It was bland and chicken was dry. It also came with a bag of chips and salsa. I did like that the tortilla for both the tacos and chips taste like it was made fresh in-house. It had a nice crisp on the outside and soft inside and has a nice rich corn flavor. This was probably the best thing about this meal. Although I didn't dine in, they have a nice patio area for dine-in right in the Brambleton town center.

Great casual taco bar in Brambleton adjacent to the Library and across Ahso! Service was quick and ambience was lively! Happy hour M-F 3-7p taco is $4, beer $6! There is a variety of tacos but fav was lamb & mahi. The El Jefe which is a carne asada comes 3rd, good flavor just slightly tougher for my taste. Overall a much needed addition to Brambleton Town Center Plaza for Hhr or lunch!

Food is extremely bland tasting, no flavor to the tacos or the steak, chicken, or shrimp that I tried

Man, Tuesday was a great day to stop by the Rebel Taco Cantina. I arrived before my friend for cocktails and managed to nab a spot outside on their terrace/patio that offered couches, high tops, and most importantly umbrellas to shade us humans from the heat of the sun. The host was a tall, young gentleman that really greeted me and made me feel appreciated as he chatted with me to my seat. Luckily for me, I arrived at happy hour time and noticed on the menu they offered $8 sangrias and $10 margaritas. The sangrias come in either white or red and margaritas flavors are much more extensive that include traditional, mango, passion fruit, guava, pineapple, el Diablo and blackberry. I wasn't a huge fan of the sangrias because they felt more filled with soda water than wine, fruits and cordials but was super duper impressed with the food! Me being the eater that I am took advantage of the $27 all-you-can-eat tacos feature and am proud to say I was able to try quite the plethora of selections. The ahi tuna tacos were served in Bibb lettuce cups and had a nice sesame flavor on top. These didn't slow me down one bit and was ready to try the Lamb birria which could have been friend a tad bit more but were nonetheless scrumptious as hell! The sauce served with was so tangy and viscous and made an excellent pairing. The 'El Jefe' carne asada tacos were fantastic with corona cheese and the 'Pollo Loco' chicken tacos had a nice topping of radishes and cucumbers with the green sauce on top. The 'Shrimp Gone Wild' tacos were served with lightly fried, mini shrimp and had a nice coleslaw served alongside within the flour shell. The 'Catch Me if You Can' mahi tacos were nice but basic and I must admit I was quite full at this point to enjoy any other choices. The chips were very light and reminded my of those at "Chili's" which I LOVE. The salsa had a hint of spice and that combo really hit the spot for me before I even dig into a single taco. Heidi was our server and very nice. She was knowledgeable of the specials and options and we didn't have any hesitation with her on our side guiding us. Thanks for taking care of us Rebel Cantina and Heidi! Your spot was a great choice for us!

They've made some good changes in response to customer feedback. Tacos are now available in singles. They also now serve a weekend brunch which I found to be very tasty. Probably 4.5 stars for me currently.

Carne asada" tacos. the color looks and taste how it seems - like stew. No carne asada flavor no browning no sear - even water drips down

Sadly I have to give this review as after my 4th - yes fourth attempt to see if the carne asada tacos improved they have not. A few years ago when it opened - came here and loved it - service , atmosphere and food on point so tasty full of flavor. Then noticeably since last year the carne asada tacos and chicken tacos have been abysmal. Carne asada is NOT stew meat- it has no flavor, looks like chunks from stew and even the water dripping off the tacos. I tried the same dish now 4 times since the first time we came here hoping it was a one off- not so. The first time, thought ok it's a fluke maybe cook was sick and someone filled in, second time I couldn't even finish the meal, their I had to send it back and ended up just having guac and chips and today I hoped- still stew meat. Same for the chicken tacos - either the person in kitchen doesn't know how to cook Mexican or even modern Mex food (I should know) or lazy and stewing meat or just have no clue how to cook this type of food. But I'm going back to Taco Bamba and Alfescos. They have flavor - please send WHoever cooks the food here to taco Bamba or alfescos - that what flavor is. I've seen the crowds go down and I think it's the food. Drinks are tasty, atmosphere is cute and staff are very nice. All great things which is why we come back, however the only think consistent is the guac and chips and drinks. Won't be coming back to order food - but maybe just a drink before heading off to diner. Hope you guys get the flavors right - lots of potential but cutting corners on food disaster to lose the crowd. Good luck folks.

We always stick to our usual -- the large margaritas and the fried chicken wings with Mexican rice -- and they never disappoint. Honestly, this is probably the best fried chicken in all of NOVA. Crispy, flavorful, and consistently excellent. It's the kind of dish you never get tired of ordering. What really sets Parrando's apart is the service. Sitting at the bar is a must for us because the bartenders make the experience. Josue has always been fantastic, and now with Alex -- who came over from Los Carnales -- it's even better. Let's start with the high point: the thin tortilla chips and queso were excellent. Light, crispy, and dangerously easy to keep eating long after you should've stopped. Honestly, if the meal had ended there, we might be talking 5 stars and a very different review. But then came my main--a chimichanga-style appetizer that showed up absolutely smothered in a mysterious brown sauce. Not drizzled. Not thoughtfully applied. Drowned. The kind of sauce that makes you wonder if it lost a bet. I gave it a fair shot, but it just wasn't for me. In the spirit of teamwork, I sampled around the table. A colleague's shrimp taco? Better, but not exactly memorable. A bite of steak quesadilla? Let's just say it didn't inspire any follow-up bites. To their credit, the service was good--attentive, friendly, and on top of things. My Diet Coke arrived exactly as advertised, which in some places is apparently a high bar, so points there. Prices were also reasonable, which softened the blow a bit. Still, in an area packed with solid Mexican options, this felt like a "close, but no cigar" situation. I came in hoping for a new favorite and left thinking the queso might be the only thing worth a return trip--and even that feels like a stretch. Three stars: one for the chips, one for the queso, and one for the effort.

I rate restaurants within their category and concept. I am not comparing a neighborhood Mexican…read morerestaurant to a Michelin star fine dining experience. If a place delivers quality food, represents its cuisine well, and exceeds expectations for its setting, that earns a high rating from me. We recently visited Casa De Avila in Leesburg, and I have to start with the horchata because it was truly the star of the meal. I am of Mexican heritage, my mom is Mexican, and I grew up drinking homemade horchata. This one tasted just like it should. It was creamy, clearly made with milk and condensed milk, with that soft sweetness and a gentle hint of cinnamon. It honestly tasted homemade, and that alone made me smile. Now, it is hard for me personally to give most Mexican restaurants 5 stars, and that has more to do with my background than the restaurant itself. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and grew up eating incredible home cooking from my mom, who is an amazing cook. That naturally shapes my expectations. In the DMV area, it has been tough to find truly authentic Mexican flavors. With the exception of La Jarochita, and Mancha Cocina Mexicana, which is more elevated but very well done, good Mexican food can be hard to come by here. All that said, Casa De Avila serves very good food and is probably the best I have found in this category locally. The sopes were made fresh, which makes a huge difference in both flavor and texture. The tacos were solid overall. The asada was very good, well seasoned and flavorful. The al pastor was good, but it did not quite have that deep, traditional flavor you get from proper trompo style preparation. The esquites were also tasty, and the kids loved that they added hot Cheetos. That is a trend we saw in Los Angeles years ago, so it felt fun and nostalgic to see it here. If I could offer one suggestion, it would be about the salsa. The salsa served tasted more like a bottled style Mexican salsa. I would love to see a true house made salsa roja or salsa verde, the kind where you char the tomatoes, tomatillos, chiles, and onions before blending. That deep roasted flavor is such a big part of authentic Mexican cooking and would elevate the whole experience even more. The service was amazing from start to finish. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and the staff really helped make the experience even better. Overall, Casa De Avila is doing a lot right. The food is flavorful, the horchata is exceptional, and it stands out in an area where good Mexican food is not easy to find. While my personal background makes me a tough critic, this is still a place I would happily return to. A solid 4 stars.
