The worst customer service. They are very pretentious, don't answer the phone, don't have a website and are not booked and busy. I spoke to the manager after trying to book a corporate event and he tells me that he doesn't know me as if that matters. I would never ever book in again. All I gotta say is: the 1 star reviews of this place are downright hilarious. What people don't understand is that this place is not your typical karaoke joint. Let's just call it a cultural entertainment establishment that isn't for everyone. Their target demographic is not the general public so I'm not surprised by the horror, offense, and misunderstanding reflected in the reviews. It's not open - like ever. Don't bother trying because you'll just be met with a locked door regardless of the time of day.

They don't allow female customers, it's a hostess bar. I arrived with my male friends and they wouldn't let me in.

We came with Koreans, so service was good. Sound system was awesome or I was really drunk since I thought I sounded awesome every time I sang. -1 star for the system not giving a grade to anyone. Another odd thing was they were busing girls in that looked like working girls and would send them to rooms with guys. It looked like the van that picked and dropped them off were making rounds, so that was kind of creepy. Not going to hate on anyone's gig, but maybe use a back door or something so it's a little more discreet. Recital K-TV is a pretty nice place. You get a nice sized room for a private party. You may order food and drinks depending whatever is in the menu. We ordered Whiskey, beer, water, soda, and a few dishes of food in the room. I remember we had fried chicken, canned fruits plates, and noodles. We must have been in the room for about four hours. We had about ten people in the room. We ordered three whiskey bottles, lots of beer, sodas, and water along with all the food. We each paid $80.00 each which is equivalent to around $200.00 a hour for everything. Recital is located inside a Korean shopping mall with many retail outlets and eateries. You may park downstairs in the parking garage where there is valet for $2.00. They have a huge selection of Korean and English songs to choose from. And their Karaoke sound system is nice. They have flashing lights inside with tambourines to make it a more lively K-TV place. Not bad at all... very enjoyable! read more

I don't even know where to begin with this. I was on a group vacation for my birthday and we all don't really know LA well, so we relied heavily on reviews to find out what to do. I came here with a group of friends to try and start our night, we hadn't even been drinking - just got off work - and were extremely respectful to everyone. But from the get go, the workers were all pretentious, arrogant, and rude to us. It would be one thing to kindly then us away, but they treated my party like a pack of homeless hobos asking for some free food or something. It was 6 o clock and they didn't have any reservations until 9, and they told us to go somewhere else. Disappointed. I came here with my girlfriend Wednesday at 7pm and the guy said they were full. Usually you'd hear singing but it was dead quiet inside. I don't actually believe the guy was being honest and if those microphones on the table are for the guests, then no one was singing as they were all present and charging. I would recommend going to Pharaohs Karaoke which is around the corner. They seem to actually care and they have a great selection of songs and beverages. I was planning an outing for work and found recital karaoke - the website said they open at 3 which was great since we wanted to go after lunch. Here on yelp it said they open at 3. Google says it opens at 3. Their door says they open at 3. I called multiple times to ensure if we showed up at 3 today we would be able to get a room and was told we were fine and we did not need a reservation. Today we showed up at 3:15 and the doors were locked and the one person inside when we knocked said they were cleaning and then slammed the door on us. The same door with the posted hours of a 3pm opening right next to our heads. Formerly Bobos. They only serve hard liquor here now. We walked in on a Saturday night looking to sing 1-2 hours max. Upon realizing we only wanted to order some soju (which they CLAIM they don't serve, even though the website says they do) we got kicked out when we were just about to que up our first song. The ENTIRE place was empty!!! They wouldn't even let us stay for one hour and just charge us the $30 for the room. We would have ordered food or something! In the elevator on the way back to the parking garage, we met a family that drove all the way from San Diego after their daughter's college graduation to celebrate with karaoke. They also got kicked out because they didn't want to order hard alcohol. Sadness. It boggles my mind that they would rather keep the entire place empty rather than make some money at all. I can't believe businesses like this still exist! It's 2018! Awhile back my friends and I stumbled across this place on yelp. Despite some negative reviews we decided to give them a shot. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon around 6pm or so. We had a group of 10-15 ppl and were just wanting to spend some time singing before dinner that night. My sister is mentally challenged and she loves to sing so we thought she would enjoyWell things didn't go according to plan...a couple of my friends walked in first to try and rent out a room. They were refused even though all the rooms were empty! We were told that the rooms were reserved at 9...keep in mind it was only 6pm! He wouldn't even let us sing for an hour. Thinking back on the reviews I read I had an idea why...even though we were all Asians the ones who went to try and rent the room were of a darker conplexion. 2 of the Korean girls in our group went to try and convince them to rent us out a room and low and behold it worked but by that time my sister was already in tears wondering why she couldn't sing...this establishment left a bad taste in my mouth and we left. I will never return here and i suggest you stay away as well...coming here would be a slap in the face to all the honest patrons who've been turned away before. We ended up going to another karaoke place called Pharaoh where the workers were extremely friendly and the establishment drinks and food were top notch! read more

The rooms at Recital are really nice. There are fun lights that strobe as you sing and the decorations are fun. The sound is adjustable for just chilling out or for blasting it loud. Mostly geared for Koreans since the controls are labeled in Korean and hard to figure out at first. The English song selection isn't as extensive as an American geared karaoke bar. The control pad is in Korean, but the buttons for Volume, Start, Stop, Reserve, Title, Artist, and Foreign are labeled. If you can't read Korean and are in the area, I suggest you find somewhere else, but of you can read it, enjoy. It is a little pricey and debatable of it is worth it or not, but overall a good time. read more

best karaoke in LA, It is very clean. Yelp to pick the best Karaoke joint with private rooms. As soon as you walk in youre greeted by the front desk and the manager is very friendly and helpful. The room was more than spacious and the lighting and everything inside was clean. The sound system was awesome and song selections were excellent. I asked the waiter and I was told the system is updated every month. I ordered 3 dishes and the food was so bomb. It was restaurant quality or better for sure. Song selection - Always updated, they've got a good amount of r&b, hip hop, oldies and rock! Service - Consistent, fast, and might I add that I LOVE that ktown has service buttons because it makes it much more convenient for us all. Press it if you need anything and you can expect them to be there within a minute! Treat your servers nice if you want nice service!! Don't be that one asshole making it hard for everyone to do their job properly. Drinks - Bottle packages are the best here IMO. Pick your poison and have the time of your life. I had my 48th Birthday Party there. I have to say it was a great night. The location is in a good area, secure parking, safe location. The actual club was clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and professional. The security were there and very cool. Not in your face every second...calm and collected. The individual rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The food was very good and drinks even better. I love the fact that you can use music from the catalog or hook up your phone or iPad. Just the overall service was good.
