Cute taphouse located in downtown Stevenson. The patio was packed on a Friday night, but emptied out right after dinner. We ordered drinks and the brussels sprouts appetizer to start. I had a bloody mary, which was decent. The food portions are very large....our brussels sprouts appetizer came in a huge bowl. Easy to share. The brussels sprouts were cooked with onion & pork belly, and had great flavor. I saw the mac n'cheese entree go by, and it was a very large portion that could feed a small family. We shared the steak street tacos. They offered to split the entree' and add 1 taco for $6, which we did, but actually didn't need the extra taco. The steak tacos were served with red chimichurri sauce & tortilla chips. They were just okay, lots of steak & corn stuffed inside, not hugely flavorful. Cute place! Red Bluff is one of our favorite restaurants! The atmosphere is great and the food is fantastic - Definitely not typical pub food. Unique dishes, most made made from scratch, and the menu is updated often. The fish and chips are the best, also the salads, bibimbap, steak bites - So delicious! I typically don't eat burgers out because they're dry and tasteless but Red Bluff's are sooo good! Tina, Justin, and Alex are our fav bartenders and will take good care of you. While waiting for an event up at Skamania Lodge, we drove into town to have a quick lunch and run a quick errand. We stopped in at the Red Bluff Taphouse and saddled up to the bar, where our server Kassidy took excellent care of us. Apparently, being 9 months pregnant and ready to burst did nothing to slow her down or diminish her spirits, as she was exceptionally friendly, helpful and conversational. She whizzed around bussing and cleaning tables, serving guests, and making drinks with efficiency. Incredible service! My wife and I split (the highly recommended) grilled cheese and tomato soup, which was as good (nay, better!) than it was propped up to be. The soup was thick and hearty, with garlic and basil, and a perfect counter to the dreary weather outside. The sandwich itself appeared basic, but tasted anything but, and was elevated to lofty heights by a quick dip in the soup! A couple cocktails rounded out the experience, and we left content and happy! The rustic interior, with its original brick walls and woodwork crafted, assembled and treated by hand by the owner from second-hand wood, is humble and inviting, like walking into a cozy living room or den. It appears popular with the locals (and now these two out-of-towners, too!), as it was busy enough when we entered around 1:00pm, and swelled to current capacity, and then some, by the time we left at 2:00pm. With food this good and staff this wonderful, it's not hard to understand why. Along with Clark & Lewie's, the Red Bluff joins the short but prestigious list of quality restaurants in Stevenson! This little town along the river is fast becoming one of our favorite places to stop and dine or drink, which, having only driven through on the way to other places, is something I never thought I would say! read more

By far the worst bartender in the county. This guy is an ass. He's unfriendly, snaps at customers and creates a very unpleasant atmosphere. He never greets people or says hello. We stayed in Stevenson for a quick little getaway and visited the Red Bluff Taphouse twice in one day! Our first visit was around lunchtime. We weren't super hungry so we ordered the Marion berry lemon drop and mule with some poke nachos. We ended up coming back for a nightcap and a growler fill. This is a new and awesome venue in Stevenson. The smoked brisket was FANTASTIC! the elote was delicious, as was the cornbread. The bartender was our wait staff and she was terrific. What a wonderful find on our Columbia Gorge outing. We will be back. The prices were reasonable and the food was sooo good. What a delightful Mother's Day breakfast! The entrees were delicious (French toast, huevos rancheros, and crab/spinach eggs Benedict) and the all-important crispy hash browns were perfectly prepared. The icing on the cake was the impeccable service that Alex and Jasmine provided. Those two tag-teamed the tables with aplomb, kindness, and flawless efficiency. First time there had four people at my table no reservation. Couple people ordered Thai food as was Friday and table listed that on table menu. At end of service waitress coldly told each of us we had to pay 25% on top of our bill and the meat in the Thai food was $5 more. Each of us felt stunned as this was not disclosed in verbal or written info anywhere in advance. It was not busy that afternoon in the restaurant and looked mostly empty of customers. I and the people I was with had a very negative experience. I will never return to this restaurant but perhaps waitresses know restaurant has mostly visitors and didn't give a damn... Came here on a Monday because, for some reason, many of the establishments here are closed on Monday and Tuesday. Anyway, this is your standard pub with a few TVs with sports playing on them. It seemed to be a place favored by locals. I ordered the 509 and my wife had the fish tacos. I wish I had the tacos too because they looked amazing. My wife said the were delicious too. The 509 (pulled pork) was ok, nothing special though. Our server was very helpful and attentive. With tip it came to less than $40 so not too bad as far as the price goes. read more

Blue cheese sauce, pork belly, blue cheese crumbles, garlic & chives. The Hiker-this was a twist to a lamb gyro, but didn't quite measure up. Was on the bland side. Taphouse Burger-I didn't get to try but several members of our group raved. 1 said it was the best burger he ever had in his life. We all left satiated and ready for a little more hiking. What a great meal experience. Steak street tacos were bomb! The streak was charred perfectly and went great with the other ingredients. We also had the steak bite appetizer. The steak was very tender but a bit underwhelming compared to the steak in the street tacos. The addition of peruvian peppers to each meal added a very nice sweet addition. Side salad was a very simple but tasty meal as well, with the walnuts and peruvian peppers. Overall a dang good meal, we would go back again for sure. Side note, wish the view on the back deck was more than just a view of a parking lot with slivers of river view. Was a nice night to be outside regardless. Staff was very good and attentive as well. I know things are tight with restaurants and I want to help the little guy. But I ordered a chicken sandwich today with a side of sweet potato fries. When the bill came, I noticed that there was a $3 surcharge for said fries on my bill. I pointed this out to the waitress and she kind-of snootily replied that the surcharge was "on the menu." TLDR; Disorganized staff, bad service, poor quality control. My first clue that something was wrong was the staff still sweeping piles of leaves in front at opening time. I stepped in and took a seat. 5 minutes later some other people stepped in and took a seat. They got service first. About 5 minutes after that I got service. The beer was good, but I was a little surprised to be left waiting for so long. No acknowledgment of the situation from my server. I ordered some food, which was a bit slow coming but I was having a good day and not in the mood to complain. The meat was tasty and well prepared. The salad was not made according to the menu. I wanted to report this to my server so I stopped eating. I tried to get her attention, but she was too busy. After about 10 minutes of staring in her direction to make eye contact I finally started waving. When she finally came over I was curious why she didn't notice me trying to get her attention, and she said she didn't notice people staring at her...which I find very strange for a professional in the food service industry. She asked me what was wrong and I told her that the salad was not made according to the description on the menu (different lettuce and missing a vegetable). The server showed zero interest in the fact the food was not made according to the menu, and zero interest in why I was unhappy. Zero interest in the fact that she had been ignoring my attempts to get service for an extended period of time. She told me she did not appreciate my attitude and asked me to leave - first time in my life. I immediately left. I'm not sure why this server felt it was her due to put her feelings above the interest of the customer - perhaps it's because this pub is a family-run business and she has absolute job security...but that's just speculation on my part. read more
