This shop was never the best, but was decent when the male nail techs worked. I came into town visiting family for a week and stopped for a refill on a Saturday. By Saturday evening, my nails began detaching from the refill set. I spent Sunday attempting to call the shop with no answer. When I finally got in touch with them, I let the worker know that I was very unhappy with the service and did not want them to do anything else to my nails. Plus I have no time to go back into the shop because I was only in town a week and have no transportation from east New Orleans to Gretna before my departure back to California. I was told over the phone by the worker that either I come or nothing. She told me "when you go to a restaurant and don't like the food, do you get your money back? No!!!" Which is entirely untrue in the country. The workers attitude was terrible. I told her multiple times "have a good day!" to try and get her off the phone but she continued to yell and attempt an argument with me. After that exchange, I never ever want to return here, and I am warning anyone reading this review. DO NOT SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE!! She even told me "oh I did little refill, go talk to whoever did your full set." Only the tech that did my full set was a MUCH MORE EXPERIENCED tech! I've been to the shop a few times to get full sets and both pedicures. I've noticed that they tend to get overwhelmed extremely fast and begin to rush their work on you. You can walk into the shop when it is almost empty and if a few customers come in after you they begin to rush your work and catch attitude because they feel overwhelmed. I got my nails done not even a week ago and they already began to break. I was able to literally pop them off hole that's not OK I work with my hands and I could see myself breaking a nail and taking my real nail with it that's how poorly done these nails were, will not be returning Waste of money. I went to Red Carpet nails on a visit to Louisiana last week. I had a refill done with gel polish. Within 2 days I had 2 chipped nails and 1 nail that was filed poorly that it snagged on everything including my hair. Fast forward 1 week later, I have 4 chipped nails. I can't have it repaired because I returned back home the following day so I wasted $50. I'm debating disputing the charge with my bank at this point because I now have to pay another $50+ dollars to have my done over. Needless to say this was my last visit to Red Carpet Nails. The services felt rushed because the salon was crowded and the guy who did my nails was on the phone the entire time which was extremely unprofessional. Decided to come here based on reviews. My daughter and i got pedis, i asked at the counter to add sea salt. I asked them 3 times no sea salt was done, i let it go. Then started the process for dip. I noticed that the color don't matched the phone i picked. I told her and she told me it did. When she finished she realized that i was right. The color of my dip polished doesn't match the color on my toes. They offered me to keep the color i had for a discount. Which i agreed. Omg. So upset about my experience. I went here because from what I remember, this place used to be awesome. I was in town and needed my nails & toes done for my birthday. I took moms with me too. I'm thinking this could be a nice mother/daughter evening but from the moment I walked in I could just feel the negative energy. No one greeted us. The lady, who then later ended up doing my nails came and took our temperature. We then recorded our names and info onto a "COVID Log". We was handed color swatches and was asked to have a seat. I'm like, who woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? No " Hi, how your doing?" , "Welcome" or nothing! Long story short, the chick who did my feet had an attitude the entire time. When I got in the pedicure chair, she told me put my feet in the water without it. The water was blazing hot! The same thing happened to my mother. That pissed me off. You could at least check the water before asking your client to put their feet in the water! She was not friendly at all to the point where I didn't want to get my nails done. No greeting. No conversation. She asked me what color on my toes and I said it depends on what I do with my nails as I want them to match. I started showing her pics of what I wanted my nails to look like. She had an attitude with me talking bout she don't know if they could do this or that. I'm like, what a great help. Then she started saying no they can do this or that. She wasn't even trying to see if they could or not. She was just tired and ready to go. Mind you, they don't close for another 2 hours. I was just going to pay for my feet and leave just off of her attitude. My mom was in the chair still getting her feet done so I'm like ok, I'll just suck it up. Plus, I was traveling out of state, the next day and didn't have time to go someplace else. I had let the lady who did my nails, know how I had felt. I told her that my nerves was bad and that I wanted to leave due to the poor customer service here. I told her that she did not greet us and her co worker who did my feet was rude. Who wants to spend money at a place like that? The lady could feel my mood and attempted to apologize but I was still drove. Bottom line. They kept looking at their watch and had an attitude as if they didn't know that they closed at 7pm. They did a rushed job. I still have polish all over my cuticles after telling the lady who did my nails about it! She claimed it was gonna come off after I washed my hands. Well, she lied. Just a rushed job. She just didn't want to take her time to clean behind herself. We got there at 5pm. If you want to leave earlier, you should change your hours. I was so disappointed and it was my birthday nails. Stopped in to get a pedicure. A time that was supposed to be relaxing turned into stress & pain. The area where my toe was cut is still hurting today.The lady cut the cuticles on 2 of my toes. One of the nails bled. She did nothing to help stop the bleeding or offer any type of thing to stop the bleeding. I told her my told was bleeding & she got aggravated & said "sorry.". She then proceeded to take out a battery powered sander & she burnt my foot causing it to bleed as well. I will admit that the foot massage was.amazing. I chose this place because it was convenient after being at Rouse's across the street, but next time I will drive to one of my regular places. On 10/6 I went to the salon for a basic manicure and pedicure. I received a horrible manicure with polish on my fingers and not enough to cover my nails in some areas. It was rushed and unprofessional. My pedicure was a joke as well. The massage on one leg wasn't even a rub and when I asked about it I was told I needed to tell them I wanted more than a basic pedicure. I have been here at least 3 x before and received decent service. Today after waiting an hour to get seen, I was given horrible service. When I paid, my decision was not to leave a tip. Found this little spot by my hotel by searching yelp and seeing great reviews. I called to make sure they take walk-ins, and they do. They accept credit cards, with the exception of American Express, and allow you to put the tip on the card. I was greeted by two friendly receptionists. Then I was taken to the pedicure chair and had one gentleman work on my pedicure one lady work on my manicure. Oh, I almost forgot, once I was seated, they offered me a soft drink or water. Love that customer service. The manicure and pedicure look great and they use hot towels for both. They even use a liner in the pedicure tub and open the sterile tool kit in front of the customer. My one complaint is the salon had a strange odor. Not like typical acetone smell, but almost rotten egg smell or something. I just hope it didn't stick to me when I left the salon. The pedicure was $28 and manicure was $14 with $5 soak off fee. I would recommend this spot and there are plenty of pedicure chairs and manicure tables for a group of friends to go. read more

This place is pretty spectacular. My first experience here was for the grand opening (yesterday and today). This nail salon is really close to the Academy plaza. When you walk in, the center of this studio has manicure stations. Around the perimeter of the salon, there are 7 TVs total I counted. This salon is definitely fancy. I got my nails done french acrylic with gel. Wow the end result is really amazing. My sister also got her nails done. Ms. Hoang did her nails; I don't remember my nail tech's name, but I am sure all of them will do a great job. There were also complimentary drinks! I don't live here but I was referred by the hotel I was staying at. The customer service was great. The prices - not so much! For a shellac pedicure with paraffin wax was $68. They charge $20 just for the polish! Also they charge a extra $5 if you want a shape on your nails. Me and my nail tech could barely communicate because she spoke little English. My pedicure lady cut me bad twice on each foot. I didn't get to indulge in the cocktails every one was talking about, I wasn't offered any. Just water or soda. Just know what you are paying for but overall not bad. I just think you can get same service for cheaper prices. read more

I should have reviewed Red Carpet months ago. I've been going to them for at least a year now. I love this place. 1. They have fantastic customer service. I've never needed or wanted for anything, ever. When I've had issues with my nails, they fixed it immediately with no charge. 2. The quality of work is the best I've seen in nola. I've gone to several nail salons were they're staff is just inconsistent. Not here, I've gotten great work from ever member of the staff so I never feel nervous about going to "that" person lol. They are 2 or 3 dollars more expensive then the rest but its honestly worth. It's spacious, and clean among many other things. Also, they have a multitude of great colors. As someone who takes the nail salon experience very seriously, there are a number of criteria that I look for in the perfect nail shop experience. While Red Carpet attempts all of them - ambiance, good quality work, polish that lasts - they don't really excel in any category. I wanted Red Carpet to be my new go-to salon, but after 4 or so visits, I accepted that despite its proximity to my house, this new relationship just wasn't going to work. The shop is decorated in a flashy, Vegas kind of way. Huge chandeliers, massive TVs, wide open spaces with shiny marble floors. It's nice if a bit gaudy, but overall good as far as nail shop decor goes. Sometimes it can be a bit much; when I'm getting a pedicure I want to relax, but in Red Carpet I end up overstimulated. There's loud bubblegum pop music playing with five different screens flashing five different channels. It's just too much for me and makes it impossible to relax. Red Carpet has a great color selection, it seems like they have every color in nearly every brand and they also have an extensive selection of gel, solar and dip colors. The staff is generally friendly, but there are a number of different nail techs and depending on who you get, your experience might be different. I've had friendly, attentive techs and I've also had techs who spent the whole time gossiping with the other techs. They (usually) serve you a free alcoholic beverage, but if you tech is less attentive they might forget (until you ask). What really makes Red Carpet a three-star salon is the quality of service. I could overlook the environment and inconsistency of customer service, but the actual service is subpar. My pedicure polish chipped within the week, a number of times I looked down at my toes only to see polish on my cuticles (a noticeable amount, not just a tiny mistake), my gels have chipped within three days and the biggest reason I have no plans to return - they used a drill on my natural nail to remove gel polish. When I told the tech the drill use made me uncomfortable, she shrugged and said this was the only way to get gel off. Overall, Red Carpet's quality of service is too inconsistent for this place to be my go-to spot. read more
