This is something only Nickey can come up with. You're going to like it or hate it. I was in the side of liking it. The crawfish itself was just as good as some of the more traditional restaurants around town. The ice cream was wild. You can taste the old bay and corn. It's no crawfish boil but it's a good cold version of it.
The ice cream was great. Very fresh because they cook the waffle and churros on the spot once you order. The service was very friendly, and helpful with answering any questions had. The ambiance was upbeat and pleasant. The music selection was good and smooth.
Decided to try this place after seeing all the great reviews, and I was not disappointed! I ordered the Elmo Crunch ice cream with a Dulce de Leche churro, and it was so delicious. The ice cream was rich and sweet. The churro was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and perfectly warm all around. They said they make the churros fresh with each order, and I could definitely tell. Honestly, I expected the ice cream to be the star of the show (it is in the name, after all), but the churro was the real star! Don't get me wrong, though, both were great. I look forward to coming back here next time I'm in Chinatown.
Top tier must try desserts. Best known for the combination of great churros and ice cream. Wide variety of unique and creative combinations of churros, bubble waffle and ice cream flavors. The staff are helpful and will guide you through popular or recommended pairing combinations. Don't sleep on the pints of ice cream. The Ube Mango is well balanced and flavorful and is better than that place that's "below the ground". The presentation of the desserts are Instagram worthy. It's fun place to get desserts with family or friends after a meal in the area or as a destination. Parking is very easy with a large lot.
The churros here are THE BEST in Houston! The ice cream is also the bomb.com! The ube mango ice cream is so incredibly delicious!!! They have some unique flavors that are to die for! The service is so friendly and helpful. The shop is small but mighty.
Inscribed along the hallway back wall reads, "Stressed spelled backwards is Desserts." That's not only brilliant, but 100% true. The notion of flipping life's pressures for something sweet and satisfying is for many of us, a full circle moment, or in this case, a Red Circle one. The last few years have been good to them, as they has become one of the most well reviewed ice cream spots in Houston Chinatown. Their soft serve is some of the best in the neighborhood. Smooth, sweet, and the perfect escape from a hot weather day. It also doesn't hurt that their place is heavy with the AC and a good amount of seating to boot. Their busiest days are weekends and summer afternoons, but I have never had a problem bringing a group here to enjoy a frozen treat. Churros and ice cream will always be a winning combo, especially in our neck of the woods. Try all their pufflicious combos, but especially the Chino Churro. The glazed and frosty churros are also a thing, and a fun one at that for folks who aren't about the ice cream. The prices are around $7-8 for a ice cream-churro combo, which seems to be normal nowadays. Service is usually easy going and the vibe is super casual. They also have merch on sale (t-shirts are fire!) and the parking situation is fairly easy with a dedicated parking lot.
They have like 4 employees and all seem useless , the wait is ridiculous and it takes two of their employees to get scoops of ice cream because of one worker not being able to scoop correctly, pathetic and embarrassing. And the cashier stays walking back and forth to the back just to come back to the cashier 30 seconds later for absolutely no reason while the cashier ends is also leaving a line of customers waiting , and no employee upfront. Unprofessional and pathetic. Wont be back. The manager states there is sick employees yet the management is terrible , and the employees are unsanitary and disgusting having their gloves on and touching their hair and nose and pulling their pants up with the same gloves they touch the food items , as well as serving cuatomers with bad Attitude!
We showed up at 9pm and proceeded to wait 15 minutes for them to take our order. All we saw was the employees walking in and out of the back. The young man that took our order was very polite however the woman that was working with him had the worst attitude. Behind us there was a family of maybe 6 people. When she saw the line she rolled her eyes and let out the biggest sigh. I asked if they were closed or if they were gonna be able to take our order. The woman said they're about to close and that the inside is closed already and they're only taking carry out orders. We ordered the churro ice cream 3/5 and the chocolate and strawberry matcha which were 1/5 . The ice cream tasted like it had freezer burn. The woman kept slamming the scooper visibly upset that she had to work I guess. We ate our ice cream outside. Where we witnessed 5 cars pull up to the establishment to try to order. At this point it was 9:30pm. They close at 10pm. The woman came out and told them they're closed but the open sign was still on and the people asked why it said they close at 10pm online and she just said they close early. After all those customers left we saw 2 more cars pull in and they were able to go inside but weren't able to order because the employee told them there were closed. It's sad to see a good establishment be tarnished by their rude employees. Never experienced this here before. Definitely will not be returning. The nasty attitude was truly unacceptable.
This is my second visit. Your order is made while you wait. Has ample seating to enjoy. Perfect serving and a lot of variety to choose from.
Red Circle has unique flavors like the matcha oreo (my personal fav) and elmo crunch (their version of cookies and cream - aka the red one in the picture). Theyre also known for their churros, bubble waffles, and macarons. I would totally recommend this place, especially the matcha oreo flavor :)

I got the elmo crunch ice cream with a sprinkle chococolate covered churro. The elmo crunch is kind of like cookies and cream. I liked the churro better than the ice cream though. Next time I will try another ice cream! Cute place with a variety of customizations. read more

Churrossssss! With fruity pebbles?! I'm sold. Their churro puff allows you to try their ice cream, egg waffles, and churros covered in either fruity pebbles or cinnamon sugar. I would definitely go for the trio for your first trip to get a chance to try a little bit of everything. My personal favorite is their Elmo crunch that's comparable to cookies and cream. read more
Mmmmmmm. The churros are made fresh to order and dipping it in that soft serve just makes it so much better. This place is like all the Californian dessert places put together but the churros and soft serve appealed to me the most. You can also ask for a dipped churro to be put in the soft serve too. I got the cookie butter churro with soft serve and it was just the right amount of sweet. Churro was covered in cinnamon and sugar and was still warm. My little cup was filled to the top and was overflowing with sauce and cookie crumbles. Sooo good. Walked in and half the ice cream flavors were already sold out but they let you still try some of whatever's left in the almost empty containers. The red bean and strawberry flavors are pretty legit. Took off one star because the bathroom wasn't working and all I needed was to wash my hands because the sugar went all over the table. Maybe have hand sanitizer next time if the bathroom isn't working? This place can get full really quick but it doesn't take that long for orders to come out. Went here on my birthday and was pleasantly surprised :). The cashier was very sweet and attentive, he also gave me really good recommendations. I ended up picking the strawberry horchata flavor which was delicious and the churro complimented it very well. Will definitely visit again soon!! read more

I have been eyeing this place on Yelp for awhile. Mainly because it seemed like a good place to get nice Instagram pictures (always doing it for the 'Gram). There are a lot of kitschy dessert place around this area and truth be told I'm tickled and interested in all of them. I think it's best to be successful with a dessert restaurant and Red Circle does it well. They have an assortment of ice creams to choose from with various toppings and mix ins to choose from. They have cookies, candies, nuts, and different drizzles. The one thing that sets them apart from other dessert places is they offer Churros! Not only cinnamon sugar but chocolate and chocolate dipped Churros. I think one also has fruity pebbles. If I'm mistaken then fruity pebbles is absolutely a topping choice. Now let me just tell you. When you order a Churros, you're not going to get a Churros from the display case. No! They make them to order!!! To order!! Hot and fresh! I got the cinnamon sugar Churros to go. It was so good! Fried to perfection but not greasy at all. I also got the Elmo crunch ice cream. It tasted like frosting ice cream with Oreos. Very creamy and satisfying! I don't know what ingredients they use but it tasted premium! They definitely don't sell cheap ice cream. Staff were very pleasant and there was a steady stream of customers. I'll be back. read more
Came on a Sunday evening and the wait was pretty long. Customer service was great even though it was busy. We got to sample a few flavors and didn't feel rushed. The place was a little messy and hard to find a clean spot to sit. But I think that was just bc it was busy. I ordered the Churro Daddy, which was ice cream and a rounded churro. I chose Elmo Crunch and Yaba Dabbalicious (fruity pebbles) churro. The cashier said those were their most popular flavors. I really enjoyed the churro, it was fresh, very crunchy, and the caramel/fruit pebbles gave it a unique flavor. The ice cream was just okay for me, didn't really have anything special about it. It did have good smooth texture. I would def come back for the churros, not so much the ice cream. I'd also probably share next time, because it is all very sweet. read more

Visited the Red Circle July 7, 2019 around 6:30. Every thing was made fresh, service was fast and friendly, the restaurant is very busy not enough room to accommodate all the customers especially with a group of children, but overall I will be returning. read more

This review is based on what my husband and son thought of the ice cream. They said it was good. Nothing that was like wow. The only thing if you go there late there's a chance they will run out of churros which was the reason we went there. So yeah a little disappointed for a place that is what they are highly advertising. Would we go back... yeah i see why not. Hopefully this time we get to try the churros. read more

A combo made in heaven, crispy warm churros and creamy smooth ice cream. Drool. I enjoyed their ice cream consistency and flavors. Pretty good dessert spot. Got the pufflelicious which is a bubble waffle with 1 scoop of ice cream. They have 8 ice cream flavors. Got the brown bread ice cream which is a cake like flavor with bits of either oats or nuts. Ice cream was good. No complaints. As for the waffle, it was sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. It tasted like any other normal bubble waffle. Idk how to explain it. Comparing to bubble egg, the waffle is very similar in taste and texture. Also got the opportunity to try the churros from my friend. Gotta say, I should've gotten the churros with ice cream. Churros were delicious. Cinnamony and crunchy on the outside. soft and warm on the inside. Loved the churros. Overall, solid dessert place. Definitely recommend the churros. Were in search of a place to satisfy an ice cream craving while on trip! This place came across on yelp so we decided to give it a try! It's in the heart of Chinatown in a corner of a strip mall. Well lit, so easy to find. We walked in and the line wasn't terribly long. We looked at the big menu on the wall to gauge our options. They serve churros, ice cream, and egg waffles! We each ordered a churro and scoop of ice cream. I tried a few flavors- banana pudding (which was great), Elmo crunch (red velvet ice cream- it was just ok), and hot Cheetos ice cream (taste crazily like the real thing- couldn't eat a cup, but didn't hate it). Hubby got the banana pudding ice cream and cinnamon sugar churro, and I settled for vanilla ice cream and cinnamon sugar churro. A super fun and different experience for ice cream and churros! Coming from an ice cream buff, if your looking for fresh, hot churros or ice cream with unique flavors, and a fun atmosphere for all ages- then you've come to the right place! When you walk in the text on the wall says, "Stressed spelled backwards is desserts!" Hehe you got me there. I went with my family and two people got the "Big Daddy," which comes with a scoop of ice cream of your choice and a fresh churro. Of course, why not go all out and got the fruity pebbles churro. When we checked out they told us that the regular ice creams would be out faster, because the churros are made fresh in house... whatttt?! Can I get one to go to? Mmm. The ice cream flavors this week were Wicked Pumpkin (pumpkin with pecans which was very good and seasonal), Thai tea (tastes just like the real deal), Elmo Crunch, PB&J, Vanilla and chocolate although as ice cream connoisseur I am a little more adventurous than choco/vanilla Lastly, the fifth star comes from the cleanliness of the place and the bathrooms. It's hard when ice cream drips all over the tables and sticky fingers take over, but the staff was quick to clean up drips and flip the place over before more customers came in. read more
What an awesome combo. I haven't seen a place that will add fresh churros and bubble cake to your ice cream, so this is a welcome spot. They don't have a lot of ice cream flavors, but the ones they do have are all unique. They do make the churros to order and can add fruity pebbles to them or the cake. This is such a welcome treat on a cold day, or in any weather really. Prices are a little high for what it is, but it does hit the spot. Sizes are good and you can probably share one with 2 people, but that means you have to share. Their menu is a little confusing if you don't know what they're about, and I didn't really get the most help from the staff, but you can't really go wrong picking at random anyway. read more

I didn't have any problems with this place. It's a cool concept ice cream and churros. The area is kinda sketch it's on the border of a nice and bad areas. The service was really good. I didn't know which item to order and the attendant explained each one to me and which one have me a better deal which I appreciated. The reason for just 3 stars is because my ice cream was very basic in flavor , seemed like it needed a little bit more of vanilla flavoring and my churro was okay, I came in with an ice cream creating and it really didn't help it go away. I at least say I tried the place out. It is a nice place just to relax and eat ice cream I just feel there's better ice cream out there. read more

Got out of a soccer match and wanted to try this place because I have seen some good reviews about the place. There is limited parking space in store front and place was packed but got lucky and found parking close by. There was a line and it took us about 15-20 minutes between doing line, ordering and getting churros with ice cream. The concept and decor is fun but what I ordered was way too sweet for my taste maybe if I ever stop by again I will order ice cream only read more

Had high hopes for this franchise. I think it looks better on Instagram than what it really is. It was good, normal, soft serve ice cream, but not spectacular. The warm churros were very tasty. Just wish the ice cream would have blown me away. read more
I know I'm really late giving my review for this so here it goes....I had the ice cream filled macaron. I enjoyed the ice cream but not the macaron. I guess they have to make the macaron harder to hold the ice cream but it tasted bland and stale. I had a taste of my niece frosty churros and it was delish. My sister got the Pufficious waffle with Matcha and she enjoyed hers. My brother in law enjoyed his guava sorbet. Their coffee ice cream paired with a churros are also yummy. read more

Okay so I have to give this place props. I literally died laughing when I first walked in. It's like the owner took a road trip the Orange County, CA, took every idea from all the newest dessert shops there and put every single one on their menu. Okay maybe they went to NYC too but same idea. They learned the formula and have it down: cheap product, minimal staff, low capital needs, the catchy wall phrases and all: - Loop churros - Milky bun (donut and ice cream) - Waffle cones - Ice cream and macaroons The reason this place gets 5 stars is because there is nothing else like it in Houston. You know I always worry when couple yelpers keep on talking about a place been a five stars.Because you know how un-opinionated us yelpers are. :P This place is very unassuming from the outside, inside is not modern or fancy. Simple and straight to the point. Parking blah that is another different story. China town parking can be hell depends on the time of the time, or time of the week. The menu itself is simple and not complicated and its post on the wall, you can't miss it. I ordered the simple stuff. Waffle cone with simple vanilla ice cream. I love the vanilla it was not too sweet, and it is also fill with pleasant taste that make you taste buds scream for more... The two chocolate poke sticks was nice touch. And lets get to the waffle cone. It came freshly make like a burrito, piping hot wrap around the ice cream. Which scream NICE !!! all over. What sold me on this place? The churros. This may be an ice cream shop, but my friend got me to try it because of her glowing recommendation of the churros - and I have to agree, they're a dream. So freaking amazing! If you come here and don't try the churros, I will personally be upset at you. Yes. Personally - at you. I will take personal offense, so be prepared to defend your honor. They've got your normal run of the mill cinnamon-sugar churros, but they've also got glazed ones of all sorts of varieties. Go nuts! And they pair absolutely PERFECTLY with the amazing soft serve here. Unfortunately, the ice cream has a bit to be desired. I had the ube, which is one of my all-time favorite flavors in general. But here, the ice cream was kind of... textured and gritty? Not super appetizing. But yes. Soft serve. And churros. GO. You will not be disappointed. read more

Way too overpriced for what they sell. This place is trying to be a copycat of The Loop in California. The soft serve is mediocre and the churros were over cooked so it was almost rock hard. I barely ate anything. I threw away about 85% of it. I paid around $8 for a cup of disappointment. read more

First I must say this was the BEST customer service I've ever experienced. The lady working was super friendly and even checked on us after the ice cream was given to us. The soft serve ice cream was so good with the churro. I got the frosty cookie and I was just the right amount. Definitely will be coming back!! read more
Environment: not great for large parties, nice little dessert shop. There's only like 5 small tables in there. Pricing is decent. Nothing crazy. Service is nice, they make recommendations when you don't know what to get and they let you try ice cream flavors. I ordered the frosty churro. We came here on a Friday night. It wasn't overly crowded and our items came out quickly. The menu is a lot of combos of churro, ice cream, and waffle puffs. The items are kind of pricy, but on par with other dessert shops I'm sure. We ordered the Puffleicious (Chino Churro), Churro Daddy (Cinnamon Sugar Churro with Hot Cheeto Horchata ice cream), and Frosty Churro (Cookie Butter Blast). Overall the soft serve ice cream and the churro were really good. The waffle bubble puffs were crispy and light, but the taste was just okay, kind of bland. If I was going to order again based on price and taste, I would get one of the Frosty Churro items again. read more
