I took my wife there last night, it was her birthday, and she wanted crab, we ended up getting the boil combo # 3. we ate until we were stuffed!!! the people working at the Hulen location were the most friendly, and helpful that I have had the pleasure to have serve us in a long time. our cashier was very knowledgeable we had never been in before...he helped us chose the items best for our taste. the food came out within 5 minutes, (granted we were there on a Wednesday night at 6:15.) and our waitress was wonderful as well. it was DELICIOUS! my wife had a great time. if you want a laid back, good food experience for a decent price for what you get, we highly recommend it, cold drinks and hot food, and great service, I would call that a perfect score!!. read more

My first time going here. I have to say I really enjoyed it. They are very busy. But ALL the staff remained professional and courteous. The prices were very good add well, considering that there are so many new crab places popping up. I even got to meet the owner! She was so nice and welcoming. I've been coming here for years and every time I come this place gets more and more expensive. What once cost $45 is now $60. I was even scared to ask for a drink cause prices are pretty ridiculous. I ordered take out today and was annoyed that the first thing on the payment screen is the tip option. I never tip for to go orders and I didn't see an option to skip it. Keep in mind before coming here that tipping is highly encouraged here even when not being provided with waiting service. Example: Bucket deal #3, $60 plus tax and tip $72. I think this place is a hit or miss on some days. I really like this place. I think the flavor is very good and it's always my go to place, but I gave this place a 3 star because of my recent visit. I ordered 1 pound of crawfish with Cajun fries. They both came out at the same time. The crawfish had patches of the sauce and made the crawfish VERY salty. I had to wipe off the excess on each piece with a napkin. The crawfish was also very overcooked. I couldn't take the meat from the shell without the meat turning into mush. It was disappointing cause almost all of mine was like that and my boyfriends crawfish too. Our server was also no where to be found when we were done and ready to pay, even though we put the red flag up. We probably waited an extra 15 minutes for him to come back to our table. I have been to this place three times already and each time the food was great HOWEVER on tonight my third visit I ordered the garlic noodles.. didn't want the shrimp I wanted sausage this time as we ordered on our second visit to Red Claw and it was good. On tonight I ordered the garlic noodle with sausage but was told I could not get sausage .. I said why not I got it the last time I was here... well the manager ( a female ) said that it's a new menu item and has not hit the menu yet and they should have not given that to me the last time. That made no sense to me because if the customer is willing to pay $2 extra What's the problem‍. I have never been to a restaurant where they refused to accommodate the customer... This place gets busy, but luckily we beat the rush. I got the pound of crawfish - RC Kick and mild. The crawfish were huge! Their spice levels are spicier than typical places. The sauce looks a little oily, but just mix it and get the garlic and seasoning on the crawfish and you're good to go. It was so good, I ended up ordering another pound. Had date night here. The wait was a tad ridiculous to me, but the food was worth it. The only thing I didn't like was the staff talking about their shift and taking breaks right next to me. I understand the place is small, but maybe the staff should have designated break spots away from the dining room. Also my date told one of the staff members there was a woman puking in the women's restroom and the other stall was broken. She was told to try using the restroom next door. Waited all weekend for crawfish, so you can imagine my EXTREME DISAPPOINTMENT. It was our first visit ever, so maybe it's just an off day? But seafood is not cheap, so there should be no excuses. Came in around 1:30 on a Saturday (Today) and was told there would be a 1 hour wait and finally got seated at 3. Not a big deal for good food right? Well they didn't deliver. Service was good. It's a busy lunch time. (hence the long wait) There were like 3 servers for the one section I was seated at, so I was able to ask for whatever I needed easily and got it back pretty quickly too, but that's about all the service we received. Again it's really busy so not a big deal! THE FOOD: The first thing I noticed was that it was bland. I ordered the RC kick in medium and it was supposed to be lemon pepper + Cajun + garlic. (So a combination of all 3.) The sauce was oily (from the spice) and that was about it! Flavorless! There was a huge sign hanging outside saying "Live crawfish" well I'm assuming I received frozen crawfish because it was horribly mushy and had so much liquid. The crawfish itself was extremely over cooked. Half of the bag was tiny or too soft. Literally the shell was so soft that I was able to break it with just my pinky and thumb! The meat was mushy and fell apart like pot roast lol. I literally didn't even bother to eat those. Also, I have never seen such small crawfish in my life! They definitely should change their vendor. Another thing is that there were so many pieces in my bag with mushy non edible heads or tails!! Like not even WHOLE pieces of crawfish! We also ordered the Cajun Parmesan fries which was yummy, but arrived pretty late. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is for the service. Unfortunately the food wasn't quality. read more

So scrambling I'd heard about Red Claw crab house, so we gave it a shot in the dark. Let me say this maybe the best seafood and crab we've ever had. We started with the Calamari, crispy flavorful and that spicy dipping sauce was outstanding. My wife ordered a pound of king crab, and I ordered the catfish basket and a half pound of headless shrimp. My catfish filets we're monstrous. My wife's King crab was huge. Needless to say we we're stuffed. We'll definitely return to try other things. The decor was very hip, the music upbeat. I had beer, nothing special, wifey had a Mai Tai not overly sweet, just right. The parmesan cajun fries were delicious. Oysters were good as well, especially for not being in season. The service and food is always great!! I usually get the RC Kick for my seafood. I've been waiting for crawfish season to come so I can try it..but for now, I absolutely love the snow crabs and Happy Hour oysters. Their wings are also delicious! Finger lickin' good and I ain't mad about it. This has been my go-to place for crawfish lately. The seasoning is just too good to pass up. So good, I lick it off the crawfish claws, the potatoes and my fingers and palms...and my arms if it makes it that far. No shame. I get the RC Kick medium and if I'm feeling adventurous I'll get the hot. They offer bibs, which I think is a must because nothing ruins your day like sauce on your shirt, and they also offer gloves to keep your hands clean. I never use the gloves so it's nice they have a hand washing station to help you clean up. The crab here has also been on-point. Very well cooked and seasoned. The size of the crawfish is nice and the sausage and potatoes are great. Highly recommend. read more

I walked in and it's a similar set up like The boiling crab except they have a full bar and the place is bigger. The location is kind of hidden but it is in a shopping center right next to "Slim for Life" I feel sorry for all the people walking out of there because I would be tempted to cheat on my diet every day! But enough about that more about the food I ordered the RC bucket #1 which consisted of 1 pound of crawfish 1 pound of shrimp with potato, corn and a sausage. The flavor was RC Mi. Which is pretty much like the whole she bang at the boiling crab it consist of Cajun, lemon, pepper, garlic it wassss amazing! The RV bucket was juicy the crawfish and shrimp were huge as well! But to summmm it all up this place is a MUST! and I forgot to add their Cajun Fries are pretty damn good and better then the boiling crab! Red Claw is def my favorite spot to go and show out of town guests or to reward myself for the smallest tasks lol. Fun, chill environment with good food, a full bar and jams to sing along too. Since moving to the area from Hawaii my husband and I had a hard time finding anything comparable to our favorite crab boil place back home; that is until we found Red Claws! This restaurant was one of my favorite places to get seafood. I'm not sure what has changed. I ordered boiled shrimp and the catfish and shrimp basket. The boiled shrimp were overcooked and and I couldn't peel nearly half of them. They are also not deveined if that's a deal breaker for you. The catfish tasted like Swai. The fried shrimp were big in size and had a great taste but the tartar sauce was lacking. I sat for 30 mins waiting on a refill of my fountain drink. Went for the first time yesterday. They encourage you to tip but no one actually waits on you. You have to get up and get your own drink or flag someone down for refills or anything else. The crab was definitely frozen, and the crawfish I don't believe were live. Crab was still very cold in some parts and when we told the waiter he didn't really empathize. Tonight's visit to say this least was disappointing I drive a hour once a week to my favorite place. This evening I let Thong know that my shrimp were over cooked and mushy. It doesn't happen to often however tonight it did. Thong response was "They Look Normal, I proceed to show him others were overcooked and they others we had to fight to peel. It was close to closing however that no excuse when as a patron we are paying our good money. I also noticed the fries where fried extremely hard, the fries fluctuates from big to small this visit they were smaller then McDonald's fries and just soooo hard. I've never received the type of service I did tonight especially to have a manager argue with you. Nonetheless I kept the peace, because this isn't normal service. My family and visited Red Claw Crab Shack on Saturday, July 16th, while in town and we mostly enjoyed our meal. I had the fish basket, which was a little too crispy for my liking; my husband had the RB#3, which didn't have much flavor as the seafood/corn/potatoes/sausage weren't allowed to marinade in the sauce for long nor was there enough sauce in the bag; my son had the garlic noodles and they were delicious. There was a long line when we first entered the restaurant but they were able to get everyone in and seated within ten minutes of our arrival.
