This place is pretty awesome! It's on par with Boiling Crab in Dallas and I go here whenever I just don't feel like driving to Dallas because the food is just as great. I've tried almost everything at this restaurant and I'm never disappointed. Medium is pretty spicy so if you can't handle spicy spicy food, I wouldn't recommend even getting just medium. They are very fair with the shrimp and crawfish so there's no skimping here. The only reason I gave this a 4/5 instead the full 5 is because I always seem to encounter lazy waiters/waitresses. Only Ordered a pound of shrimp with potatoes to go but very well seasoned and I didn't have to wait long to pick up my order.

Came here after a recommendation to celebrate my birthday. Food was AMAZING. Deducted 2 stars for my overall experience with the staff. The hostess looked uninterested in even greeting us and has an attitude. The waitress was selective when telling people about their specials or happy hour. She didn't pay much attention to us other than taking our order and us waving her down for claw cracked I wish I would have had a better experience but the food was quite good so I may be back. Considering how much you spend there, they should train their staff better. I went on a Monday night and it was packed, which was a good sign. I frequent this establishment often and normally I come alone and sit at the bar with no issues. Today, I came and sat at the bar at the same time as another family, who was served and greeted about 3 minutes after we sat. About 10 minutes later I am upset because not only has my order not been taken, but I also have not been greeted by any of the 7 people behind the bar I asked for the manager, who happens to be the same gentleman that served the family next to me so it raised a level of annoyance in me. I express my concern and need for help and all he responded with was "ok what can I get you?" No apology. No empathy. No concern. The food here is decent! But this level of poor service has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Oh. And it's been 7 additional minutes and I've not gotten my drink...which was a water. I hope they take reviews like these into consideration for their training and development as an establishment. read more

I'm glad I don't have to drive too far for fairly priced cajun food! + 1 lb of shrimp was about $13 (market price at the time). The shrimp were large and some seemed not-so-fresh, but what can you do during the winter in Texas? The quality was acceptable to me :) + Sweet potato fries had like an outer coating of cinnamon or brown sugar which gave it an extra sweet factor, not necessary, so maybe next time I'll ask if they can omit that. It tasted good regardless though - They kinda skimp on the steamed white rice priced at $2 -_- come on it's not that expensive to cook a ton of white rice, can't you hook a sista up with a little more rice? When we went there were only a few parties there but I can see them getting pretty packed on a weekend and having a wait. I think there will always be a bit of a wait because this place is so incredibly popular but it's definitely worth it if you know what you're getting into. We started off with the fried mac and cheese which is little triangles of kraft mac deep fried to absolute perfection and served with cool, creamy ranch. They come to your table super fresh so be careful not to burn your tongue right away. It was really delicious for such a simple food. We got fried catfish and cajun parmesan fries which were absolutely delicious, crispy and very well-seasoned. Now the star of the show, the octopus. Chewy, tender, baby octopus cooked to perfection and DOUSED in garlicky, herby, savory, umami-filled oily seasoning. This was a very heavy meal but I can wholeheartedly say it was so worth it. Unfortunately I nor my large party was impressed. First, our table didn't get a waiter or waitress. We had a party of 14. They charged an automatic gratuity of 10% and then asked for more tip but I'm trying to figure out who am I tipping. There were no waters given to our tables, refills, or clearing of empty plates. You ordered at a window and they brought the food to your table. No one came to check up on us or anything. We had a cake to eat after dinner and asked that they clear our tables of the baskets and bags of crawfish and no one came. I asked again and still no one came. The food was OK. It takes us 30ish minutes to drive all the way over there to get our food but the past two months we having been doing pick up order instead bc of our little ones. Not of them pick up orders were fresh came home for a soggy corns and soft shells snow crabs. I usually do the tips but last night gut told me not to, which I should've go with my gut but instead I put $5 tips along with my $138 order and still got the same "NOT FRESH" order from my last two previous orders. Pros: The boil was good - spicy was not crazy spicy, which was fine. It was flavorful and a thicker sauce that really clings to the seafood. Batter on catfish was really good and crispy. Calamari was good - breading wasn't too heavy and calamari was cooked just right, not chewy or rubbery. Fries were fresh and crunchy - they're like the zesty fries from Popeye's, so definitely frozen, but at least they were fresh. The older Asian lady who was expediting took a break from that to seat us. Food came out fast once we were seated and server was attentive and responsive when we had issues. Cons: We showed up when they were in the weeds BAD on a Friday evening. Took a while to get acknowledged at the door and sat, because there were so many tables that needed bussing but everyone was trying to run food. Just watching from the door, we could tell servers were confused on tables and where to deliver food once it was ready. My brother and I talked about how we wanted to jump in and help bus tables since a crowd was at the door. A couple left because no one ever acknowledged them to tell them it'll be just a moment to get seated. After we got seated, there was a moment of confusion where a server came over to deliver a seafood basket, but we already had one so we said it wasn't our's. Right after the server walked away, my brother peeled a long black hair from his fried shrimp! We told him to put it down and called a server over to show him. He apologized and immediately brought over a new basket. Possibly the one we just declined but there were no hairs in that one. I wish I could give a 3.5 stars since that's how I feel right now. They are pretty disorganized when busy. And maybe the kitchen cooks need hair nets. I know they're new so still need to figure out the kinks. Only reason it's a 3 instead of a 4 is because with all the other seafood joints popping up and the issues we experienced, I don't know that the food stood out enough for us to come back. My favorite crab boil restaurant. I bring everybody that's visiting and wants seafood here. It's my go to. Food is almost fresh and made to order. It comes out piping hot every time. Service is good but you have to be prepared to wait no matter what time or day you go due to the popularity of the restaurant. Most definitely worth the wait though! RC Kick sauce is really tasty. I read the reviews that it was not thick and that may be the case but it's still pretty good. I did ask about the crab and although on the menu they did not have dungenous or blue crab. Ordered a pound of shrimp for market price of $12.99 lbs. I wish they would do half pounds so I could have tried more items. Although the food is messy you expect if you want to eat here, but they do offer a bib and plastic gloves. They have a separate area to wash your hands so you aren't waiting to get into the restroom. read more

This place is really nasty i don't know why i didn't take my food back at the first bite of the shrimp, i guess i was that hungry. It tasted like rubber and the food had no flavor at all. At the end it cost me about $18 for a basket and a drink which is way over what it should have been. Highlight: Great place for crawfish, shrimp and crabs. It is tucked away in Arlington off Cooper street. The flavors are super concentrated and on point and the seafood is cooked super well. I was more impressed than expected at their quality. Hint, dont call ahead no one picks up the phone on weekend nights. Lines are long (large party of 12) and we waited over 45 mins next to the door. Very limited seating. I'm assuming this is just on weekends. Disclaimer: you will get messy and will be wearing a plastic bib - so this is not a glamorous place if you were looking for something more polished but you will a blast getting your hands dirty. Our usual boil spot is Shell Shack but we wanted to give something else a try . The shrimp was delicious. We got it hot with the works ! The extra hot flavoring was even tastier . The ambiance was casual , similar to other similar places . Only thing we didn't love was that it was a challenge peeling our shrimp . I found the boiling crab in Dallas area years ago. I loved it but I hated that it opened up at 3 o'clock and that it was so small. So you always had to wait outside which meant it was an impossible place to try to go to... I saw an advertisement for red claws crab shack in Dallas and that prompted me to find other locations which I found this one in Arlington. Omg, parking, its open all day and The food is delicious. If you're here for the crawfish, I STRONGLY urge you to RECONSIDER!! My bf and I thought we'd give this place a try tonight based on its good rating on Yelp, but we were highly disappointed. I'm not exaggerating when I say that about 25% of my crawfish were bad, inedible, like they were dead before they were cooked. And the remaining 75% were teeny tiny, comparable to baby shrimp in size. Out of my 2 lb, not even one crawfish was a decent size. As far as flavor goes, we both got the combination (or RC kick), but he got two levels spicier than mine, and they both tasted the exact same. The bf thought the flavor itself was okay, but I didn't like it. It was oily, oily, more oily, with a hint of Cajun spice. No lemon pepper flavor. No garlic flavor. The only saving factor for this place was the Dungeness crab, which was surprising decent after the horribly disappointing crawfish. Needless to say, we would not be coming back here. Over priced drinks ruined it all for me. A michelada, which is either tomato juice or Clamato added to a beer is 10.99. More than most the hard liquor drinks. The beers are $4.50, and you are going to add another $5 to a drink to put some tomato in it???? Get the hell out of here.
