I wasn't super impressed with the food or service. I ordered Togo over the phone and the prices didn't match their menu which was a little frustrating. I even grabbed a new menu as I left the restaurant to see if they had printed new prices, but they hadn't. The food tasted okay, nothing special. Outstanding experience. 5 star, both food and service. I don't leave too many reviews, usually you have to be really good (or bad) for me to spend the time to write one. Very clean utensils, delicious food and helpful and attentive service. I had beef with string beans and my mom had garlic shrimp lunch combos. With the way prices are these days, this was more than fair. Lots of food, very tasty. Egg drop soup was the best I've had in the valley. Young lady serving us was able to clearly describe the difference in dishes and what they contained so my mom could make her choice, as she doesn't like too spicy. The young waitress with thick glasses was horrible and bad mannered, the customer service at this place sucks as well as the food. My daughter and I went to have lunch here and we and for the fire cracker shrimp ham fried rice I identical meals. But they brought one with ham, fried rice and one with just fried rice when we complained. The lady said that I read it back to you before I ordered it in a smart tone instead of trying to make it right! And then avoided our table the whole time we were there, never checked on us to see if we were ok or anything. Just bad service all around I will never eat at this place ever again. It was the first and last time. They got the order wrong and the food was entirely tasteless. The cream cheese wonton didn't taste like cream cheese but more on the sweet side. The sweet and sour chicken had no taste and the egg foo young also didn't have any taste. On a side note, is it just a Utah thing that when you order egg foo young with something like chicken, beef, ham e.t.c. they drown it in water/gravy? I get that plain foo young comes with gravy but where I was in another state it was never drown in gravy when you added the toppings. Every place I've ordered it here does that. read more

Ordered this thru DoorDash and was so surprised by how fast they were and the portions were giant! I ordered the honey walnut shrimp with the option of white or fried rice, and a cream cheese wonton appetizer. Even the appetizer gave me a ton of pieces, and I ate the shrimp for at least 3 meals! This place oh my goodness this place is so freaking good their orange chicken is bomb. They also have kimchi which is a rare occurrence where I live. A lot of good food for a good price. Also try their egg foo young it's so good to. The service is good to slow but its the worth it for the food. They have an interesting covid setup.. they don't allow done in, but half their staff and especially the cooks weren't wearing masks. Came here early to try after getting a haircut nearby. Seen the lunch specials sign so decided to go in. After we got seated and looked at the menu, we asked for the lunch special only to find out it's not available on weekends. We were already seated so decided to be hopeful and stay. High regret. Terrible service. No water offered. Food was mid (at best.) And left with a couple of bites from our plate. Do no recommend. You could definitely find better food and service elsewhere. I am happy to give Red Corner China Diner FIVE STARS for their catering! They delivered their delicious, authentic Chinese food warmed and ready to serve at the time promised. The Party Trays were ample and they even included serving spoons. My guests agreed that it was one of the best Chinese meals they have eaten! The menu included: Veggie Spring Rolls, Orange Chicken, Moo Goo Gai Pan, Honey Sesame Chicken, Ham Fried Rice, and Chow Mein. The price was very reasonable at about $10 per person. read more

Horribly managed as it regularly takes 30-45 additional minutes to get food from what they promised. The guy who runs the orders is clueless and the ladies packing the food can be seen shaking items because they have no idea what food has just been prepared. There use to be a lady who ran the shop efficiently, the new folks are in over their heads. It's sad because we enjoy the food, they are just terrible in actually running the restaurant. I won't lie, I'm not the best person to review this restaurant because I don't like takeout Chinese food. However, my husband does and it was his turn to pick dinner so we tried this place because it delivers to us. It was easy to order delivery through Yelp (it was my first time doing that) and although it estimated 45-55 minutes, it came in 30! So that was a pleasant surprise. We got General Tso's and Beef Yellow Curry. The portion are giant - we probably have multiple meals in the fridge thanks to our leftovers. The fried rice was good, and the entrees were pretty typical for takeout Chinese. I wish the curry had more sauce, but the vegetables were good and the meat was tender. The spring rolls were ok - a little mushy on the inside for my taste. I'm sure we will be ordering from them again though, so I'll try something else next time. I got takeout from here tonight and only ordered two things so I don't know if any of the main entrees really are up to par. But I got cream cheese rangoons and egg drop soup. I was pretty disappointed with both of them. The Rangoons were way too sweet and undercooked, so they had a strange chewy texture to them and so much sugar that the cream cheese was almost completely clear in color. The egg drop had crab in it which I was not a fan of. It lacked flavor completely and was a gelatinous texture, hard to get off the spoon. I don't think I'll be heading back any time soon. read more

Extremely slow service. Definitely short staffed. We came in as a large group and waited close to an hour for our orders to be served. They have empty tables but a long queue at the door. They prioritized online orders and dine-in customers needed to wait for very long time to get orders to be placed and served. The dine-in experience is really bad. And oh man I'm glad I did I really enjoyed the sesame honey chicken which will be a staple too all of my future orders. We happened to find this place on yelp and after reviewing the mixed reviews, we decided to give it a chance, and boy were we happy to actually find some decent Chinese food outside of the usual Panda Express. We got two of the individual family style dinners, and the portions were huge! We had enough to have at least two days of leftovers. Definantly will be back for more! read more

First off, this place should be a single dollar sign since their lunch special costs as much as a Big Mac meal at McDonalds. Someone has to get this changed haha. If you want cheap Chinese food for lunch, this is the place to go! I went here with a friend and we spent $25 after leaving a $5 tip. It's super cheap, and we both ordered an appetizer and upgraded our lunch specials. I went with the Beijing beef and upgraded to pork fried rice. This was $8 total and I added an egg roll that was $1.50. The meal was HUGE (check the pic) and it was pretty decent food. You're not getting the 100% real authentic Chinese food that no one truly craves for, but it's definitely a step up from Panda Express on the authenticity scale. Will I be back? I have long time no come here. I find they can also offer some authentic Chinese cuisine not only for the American Chinese cuisine. I tried a "braised chicken with potato and green pepper". It's amazing, same flavor with those restaurants in China. I think It's the best one of authentic Chinese cuisine I can find in Salt Lake. read more

Red Corner is new Chinese diner right off 7200 South and State. It's been open for less than a week, and I was tipped off by a review in the Deseret News. The diner has a nice modern ambiance, with extremely helpful and friendly staff. I came in a large group of 20 people, and although it took the kitchen a while to get everyone's food out, they were vigilant with refills and keeping us updated on the progress of the meal. I'm always impressed when Coke Zero is available. Between the members of our large group, I tried a bunch of dishes. The potstickers were steamed and delicious. The fried rice was a little bland, but excellent with a little sauce on it. I love the chow mein. The Mandarin chicken was the best I've had. The sweet and sour pork was just the way I like it - lean on the breading with a flavorful sauce that doesn't resemble melted jello. The broccoli beef was cooked perfectly. I think that they'll do well with their pricing - it's much less than some of the higher end Chinese places in the valley, but several dishes were higher quality. All the portions were generous. They offer a $5.99 lunch menu, which I'm sure I'll try soon. I'll definitely be back to Red Corner. It's been a long time since I've found a Chinese place that I dig, and it's really close to my home. The two stars are for the portion sizes and timely delivery. But this place had been one of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. There was absolutely no flavor in the 3 dishes I ordered for me and my family. And the crab rangoons and the beef in the beef and broccoli had a really odd texture. Usually crab Rangoon's are made with cream cheese, but whatever these were made with was not cream cheese. It was more translucent and tasted more like pure sugar. There were 2 tables seated and I was the only one at the counter. The young man behind the counter was taking a phone order, but told me he would be with me in a minute. About 3 minutes later...sorry you know when you are hungry time doesn't fly....he started my order. About 4 questions in he informed me they were out of chicken so everything on the menu with that as an ingredient wasn't available. Ok... So I made my order of Rangoon, sesame balls, egg drop soup and beef chow fun. I was told they were busy and it would be 15-20 minutes. Considering how this experience/review is going...I will take it. I come back into the restaurant 25 minutes later. My food wasn't ready. The young man was running around like crazy. After 10 minutes he acknowledged me while bringing out several to-go bags for a couple that came in after me. He told me it would only be a few more minutes. 10 minutes later...a total of 45 minutes after my order was placed...I was out the door. Enough about the service as I think my point of poor service is made, onto the food. The soup was bland. Wouldn't recommend it. The Rangoon had a little kick and were good. The sesame balls were soft with a good flavor. The beef chow fun that the won best of state 2012 on... Was bland and the noodles not cooked enough. So maybe the universe was off for ALL OF SLC tonight with Chinese cuisine. This experience though was not one to highlight. Pretty consistent. It had been a few years and I came back to give it another go when a friend wanted Chinese food. The prices remain affordable, and the standards aren't going anywhere. Lo mein noodles, beef with broccoli, soups -- it's all there. And in a few more years, I think it will still all be there, with the same menu, doing the same thing each day. I'm not complaining. Even though I'm a "variety is the spice of life" kind of guy, there's a lot to be said for finding your niche and sticking to it. We also enjoyed the Thai Cashew Chicken Breast, but I hope to remember it comes with lots of red and green bell peppers if I order it again, and ask for celery and more onions instead. I came here today for a work meeting. The service was great. Our waitress was so friendly and super attentive. The restaurant seemed really clean and had a nice ambiance. We ordered the shrimp appetizer and some pot stickers. Both were good. I got the lunch special which was a soup, entree, fried or steamed rice and a cheese filled wonton for $5.99. GREAT deal and a good amount of food. I had the hot and sour soup and general Taos chicken. Both were great! I subbed my fried rice for lo mein for $1 and that was delicious as well. This was my first visit here. I ordered online pickup via Yelp an hour before I planned on picking up. When I got there, they said they had just received the order and it would be 15 minutes or more. I was angry, but realized it wasn't there fault if there was a lag between their restaurant and Yelp ordering service. They moved my order to the top and offered me a free drink while I waited. Everyone was so nice and accommodating, I couldn't be too angry! When I got home, the food was great! I had the Dandan noodles and highly recommend them! I know they will be regular cravings from now on. Also, the orange chicken, general Taos chicken, and hot and sour soup were all really tasty. I'll definitely be back! read more
