I spoke to the manager Chad a few times and I had a fundraiser for a trip to Haiti for the Non-Profit organization I work with "www.firmefoundation.org" and he was so kind he went out of the way and donated pizza to the volunteers who were part of the event! The pizza is pretty decent. Better than most mom and pop shops around Covina. And definitely better that the pizza chains. I love that the crust holds up and doesn't get soggy with the sauce and cheese. The cheese doesn't taste fake like other pizza places and stays on the pizza when you bite it. My group and I began our day at Artist Pizzeria, but it was not what we were looking for. We were in search of a an old school, history filled, family style pizzeria. Red devil pizza was just what we were searching for. Upon entering we noticed the great ambience and friendly staff. We ordered a trio of appetizers, one red devil special, and the no meat pizza along with our soft drinks. Despite how busy the staff was they made sure our drinks were refilled and continuously asked if we needed anything else. The food itself was great and warm. Worst example of customer service I've ever seen. I visited this location with a party of 10 people and was turned away. The host told us we had to leave, because they were understaffed. The restaurant was maybe a third full, but they can't handle a party of 10? If 5 separate couples walked in would you turn them all away? Terrible experience and absolute mismanagement. read more

I lived in Covina for 20 years and this is the best pizza place in the area. It is a little older decor and when it is full of people it can get really noisy in there. After moving to Covina about 3 years ago I found this place and have been a loyal customer since and never had an issue with quality or service....until now. Typically I pick my order up but this time I opted for delivery and went through the "Slice" app. Ordered a small antipasto salad and small pizza. Food was delivered about an hour after the order was placed which was no problem. However, the pizza was cold and stale and very hard to chew. Literally had half a slice and had to throw it out. Not to mention the lettuce in the salad was brown and soggy. So I reached out to Slice to ask for a refund. They contacted the store and got back to me saying that management said due to their policy they could only refund me the salad and give 50% off a future order. What kind of policy is that??? I asked why the pizza couldn't be refunded and they said management wouldn't do it which is insane to me considering it was literally inedible. Had a party here in the banquet room and pre-ordered food for it. Food was brought into the room exactly on-time. Best items they have: breadsticks (when people rave about their cheese sticks or cheese bread, they mean breadsticks; the garlic bread and cheese bread are dif items), hot wings, antipasto salad, and pizza! Their pizza when cooked fresh has the most amazing crust - make sure you eat it fresh from their oven! And yeah, you don't go here for the customer service, but for a family get-together it was perfect - great price and great food. Before I start my latest review I want to state that I have been eating Red Devil Pizza since 1967 at the Phoenix location. Was hooked as a small child and continued to visit both the downtown and North Phoenix location for years. Moved to California in the late 70's and found the La Verne location which was definitely not the same pizza and then the Covina location which was remarkably similar. Never had anything but rave reviews up until last month and I am sad to say that the magic is gone. The sauce had zero flavor and the crust was just not the same as I had tasted for over 50 years. One good thing was that the antipasto salad was exceptional but without the trademark pizza, I doubt we will return. Does anyone know if there has been a change of ownership in the last year? I have heard so many good things about this place from the in laws. The hubby and I decided to try it out. I ordered a small pastrami sub, the hubby ordered a slice of pepperoni Pizza, and we also ordered a garlic cheese bread. My pastrami was decent but the pastrami/bread ratio was off. I'm used to having my pastrami packed in there. The taste itself was good. The garlic cheese bread was okay as well. The garlic butter was different. The hubby enjoyed his slice of pizza. This is an institution in Covina. Red Devil Pizza has been in business since 1966, but I only just now got around to trying them. Call me an expert procrastinator. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Just one person in my family likes jalapenos, so I asked if they could put jalapenos on two slices of our 14" pizza. They said they could. The pizza was delicious. The sauce was thick and flavorful (I didn't notice the sauce was sweet, but my mom did). I liked the crust. We had olives, green peppers, and red onions (in addition to a couple of slices with the jalapenos). The toppings tasted fresh, not like they were from a can. The pizza was great and not salty at all. I would definitely return. Takeout was easy- It took only 15 minutes to be ready, so we had fun walking around Downtown Covina while we were waiting. I'd recommend the 14" pizza for 3 people (about 3 slices each) and the 16" for a family of 4.
