Definitely a hangout for the locals. We came in here for Sunday lunch and found several groups watching NFL football on the big screen and a mix of families and friends. There is nothing fancy about this place by any means, but maybe the people that come here are looking for something that feels like their living room but also serves beer by the pitcher. Food is good - we ordered a half loaf of garlic bread, hot wings, and pizza. Hot wings were fresh and super hot. Pizza was, surprisingly, a little bland. That's mainly why I rate this place as only a three - a place known for pizza should really have better tasting pizza. I'll try the place out another time to see if it was just a fluke. It was bad enough my estimated delivery time was about an hour and thirty minutes, but fine, the pizza is usually very good and so I went ahead with the order. One medium pepperoni pizza actually took TWO hours to deliver and was hardly even warm! To top it off it was burnt. Looked and tasted more like a pizza that had been sitting out most of the day. This joint is typically busy, lots of younger mid 20 year old staff who are friendly and the service is prompt and courteous. The pizza is a bit bland, sauce could use a little zing or spice, it's very close to being tomato paste. The meatball sub I had however was top shelf, delicious meatballs. I love Red Devil and my family has been going here for years. I think it's one of the best "local pizza joint's" ever and I've eaten at a ton of pizza joints since meeting my husband. I actually didn't start trying out other pizza places until I started dating my husband and I can't believe the trash people will eat because it's labeled as Pizza and only $5. The pizza is crusty and they don't skimp on the ingredients. When you order the veggie pizza you do have to specify that you want the crust to be extra crunchy otherwise the dough will be a little soggy from the veggies releasing their juices. And I'm told not to order the extra large pizza because it's the same amount of dough as the large, which means a thinner crust. If that's not a big deal to you then go for it. Their wings are always good as is their cheesy pizza bread. Their salads are pretty basic and I don't really ever order anything else off the menu. They can run behind sometimes with their service, I think it's do in part to the fact that it can sometimes be understaffed and also because the staff is so young. I'm never sure if there is even a manager on the floor! Most of the time it doesn't phase me but if I'm in a hurry it's pretty damn annoying. The only local "pizza joint" I like more than Red Devil is Angelo's in Alhambra. read more

I came here with my friends because we all remembered how good it was and our memory's were right! We sat down at a booth and the girl who worked there came up and helped us out right away. We got an order of buffalo wings that were just perfect. They were meaty and crispy with a little bit of spice. We also ordered a pizza with pepperoni, sausage, jalapenos and black olives. Legit place in Covina. Went here with no expectations and ordered the Italian Stallion and wow it is divine. The atmosphere inside is extremely relaxing and the employees are extremely cool. I ordered large pizza...half sausage only for my son and half bacon bits,ham,mushroom,green pepper and onion (red devil special). See email proof picture. We waited 20-25 min and when the lady gave us our pizza we saw that they put the ham and bacon bits with the sausage! I told the lady they made a mistake but she insisted all the ingredients are there. I said yes but thats not how I ordered it. I even showed her the email proof. She didnt even apologize and just offered to remove the ham. Seriously?! She could have said sorry or offer to redo it since that's not what I ordered. We've been here a few times and enjoy the pizza and atmosphere....there aren't many of these non and pop type pizza places around anymore. A few weeks ago we stopped in hungry for pizza. There was one group of about 10 and a few other groups of two. It took a good 5 min to be given menus or even acknowledged by the server, even though she had made multiple trips into the dining room. She handed up our menus without a word or even eye contact. Then we waited another 10 min and were completely ignored while two servers and and bus boy or bar back chit-chatted at the bar. We made multiple attempts to flag down the server to place an order....or at least get some drinks. We eventually got up and left. Too bad.
