If you're looking for a no-frills, come-as-you-are kind of place, Red Dog Saloon hits the mark. It's got all the charm you'd want from a proper dive bar: cheap drinks, strong pours, and a jukebox that knows no shame (in the best way). The crowd is local, laid-back, and welcoming--don't be surprised if you leave with a few new friends or at least some wild stories. The bartenders are quick, salty in the right way, and know their regulars by name. Cash-only (or maybe not, depending on the location), and they don't try to be anything they're not--and that's what makes it great. Dim lighting, random décor that probably hasn't changed in 20 years, and a pool table that's seen some battles. Don't come expecting fancy cocktails or avocado toast--come for the beer, the banter, and the old-school vibes. Long story short: If you want a real bar with real people, Red Dog delivers.

A friend of mine is a Cerritos local, and this was our second visit. First and foremost, the staff was amazing. The gentleman working the front door was incredibly polite and welcomed us with a smile, even wishing us a great time as we walked in. The two bartenders were outstanding. Unfortunately, I didn't catch both of their names, but their level of customer service was exceptional. They were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the night. For food, we ordered the lumpia and the pepperoni flatbread pizza. Both were absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend trying them. We also enjoyed a couple of ice-cold beers. I ordered a glass of water as well, and my water was refilled almost immediately every time it was empty--a small detail that really stood out. The DJ kept the atmosphere fun and lively, and we were able to catch the MMA fights on their multiple flat-screen TVs, which made the experience even better. My buddy Jason says this is the best dive bar in Cerritos. After this visit, I'd have to agree. In fact, the customer service we received here was better than what I've experienced at many upscale, "bougie" establishments. Outstanding food, excellent drinks, incredible service, and a great atmosphere. Job well done, Shipmates! I'll definitely be back.

The location is a little hidden and was somewhat difficult to find at first, but once inside, everything was well organized and easy to navigate. The staff did an excellent job throughout the event--friendly, attentive, and impressively fast despite the crowd. I also appreciated that they limited the number of guests, which kept the atmosphere lively without feeling overcrowded. It was nice that this wasn't strictly an adults-only environment, as we were able to bring our child along and still enjoy the experience. The food was good, the service was great, and the overall setup made for an enjoyable afternoon of soccer. We'll definitely be back during football season to catch a few games.

The back or rear of the bar includes a wide open space that is perfect for private birthday gatherings or barbecues or kickbacks. The bartenders do a good job of keeping the spot lively while people are carrying on. Evelyn and Jeanette did well pouring drinks. Both seemed to take the atmosphere/ambience of the bar and customer satisfaction seriously. The staff made an effort to get the bar ready for Halloween. Someone on the staff painted the restrooms in the spirit of the film The Shining. Signs like "redrum" and "666" were written on the walls in red. Someone definitely achieved the crime scene in a bad horror movie look he or she was going for. Drinks and service were fine. I mostly saw people drinking beer. The barstaff was quick to help me. The other customers never wanted for drinks or attention. Credit to the bar staff. 5 stars for being a real dive.

Their unique approaches solidify all of the cliches' that distinguish these different parts of LA. The Wrig: casual, but hip neighborhood vibe. Reasonable prices. The (???) bar: has never understood the neighborhood. DTLA prices in this area is not a sustainable business model. Great cocktails, but prices have consistently gone up to the point that most people (that I know) no longer patronize this bar. The concept/menu has been revamped so many times, it's hard to keep up. We came here because they had free line dance lessons starting at 7PM and 8PM. We decided to join the 8PM session and it was sooo fun! It may have been an intermediate class (or I just suck) because the moves seemed pretty difficult. Tons of fun regardless. They even had a live band starting at around 9PM.
