I can't believe this place has been just five minutes from me and I never knew it existed! The venue is much bigger than it looks from the outside. Downstairs, there are two dance floors, a stage for live bands, a bar, and plenty of seating. Upstairs, there's another dance floor and bar, which helps give everyone more space. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the music is great. Most of the bartenders I interacted with were okay--not overly friendly, but not rude either. The bar can get very busy, so it seemed like they were focused on serving customers as efficiently as possible. I also learned that they offer free dance classes on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which is a nice bonus. Overall, it was a fun experience, and I'm glad I finally discovered this hidden gem so close to home! P.S. Definitely wear boots or comfortable shoes. We got here at around 6:45PM on a Wednesday, which was right before they started charging a $5 admission fee at 7. There's also a pretty big lot so parking wasn't an issue. The inside is exactly as you'd expect for a country saloon: large dance floor, tons of country-themed decoration, and a full-service bar. They even have billiards upstairs! We came here because they had free line dance lessons starting at 7PM and 8PM. We decided to join the 8PM session and it was sooo fun! It may have been an intermediate class (or I just suck) because the moves seemed pretty difficult. Tons of fun regardless. They even had a live band starting at around 9PM. NOTE: If you want to order food or drinks at the bar, there's a $20 minimum at the bar for card and the restaurant upstairs is cash only. They do have an ATM by the front entrance but it charges I believe a $3.50 service fee. Live band on Fridays plays country, but the DJ plays pop music that people line dance to during their breaks. Called today to reserve a table for my birthday party for 10 people and was shocked by how rude and condescending the man on the phone was. He interrupted me and acted annoyed that I was even calling. I was unaware that reservations are only for parties of 20+, which is totally fine, but that information is posted nowhere online. Love that they offer free line dancing lessons multiple days a week so I was able to come out on a Wednesday and Saturday. I went this past weekend for the first time and it was great! As soon as I walked in I got positive vibes. It's a huge place! They have a beginner dance floor and a more advanced dance floor. I'm really disappointed to be writing this, especially about a place that's been a longtime favorite of my family. But what happened on Friday, April 11th at Cowboy Country needs to be addressed. While I was enjoying a night out, a woman working the gift shop singled me out in a way that felt blatantly homophobic. I was wearing a snug tank top--nothing inappropriate, especially considering several other men in the bar were wearing sports tanks and Harley-style tops. Despite that, she approached me and aggressively told me I wasn't allowed to be in the bar dressed like that. This was after I had already been welcomed in by the staff at the door with no issue. She looked me up and down, and the way she spoke to me was rude, demeaning, and entirely out of line. It was clear to me that her issue wasn't with my clothing--it was with how I presented. What's worse is that nothing else happened that night. I was served drinks, I had fun with friends, and no one else seemed to have an issue with what I was wearing. Which begs the question: why was I singled out? And why is this kind of behavior tolerated? Cowboy Country should be a place where everyone feels welcome--not just those who fit a narrow, outdated definition of what a "cowboy" looks like. If you're going to enforce a dress code, enforce it fairly. And if not, don't use it as an excuse to harass queer patrons. It's 2025. This kind of discrimination shouldn't be happening anymore. I absolutely loved this place. We came on a whim with our friends and fell in love . We are going to go back to celebrate my birthday! Cash only at the entrance after 7pm Line dance class from 6:30-8pm that's what I noticed. Food purchases are cash only and they have finger food. Almost like snack bar like food. It was good. Came here on a Saturday night with my friend! They had a band for live music which would play in sets throughout the night. In between sets, the DJ played some line dance songs and two step. This bar had more of a middle aged crowd than what I tend to see at country bars that I've been to in Northern California but I think the live music tends to draw the non-young adults. The space had two dance floors - one main one and a side one. It was pretty fun to try out some line dances on the small dance floor when two step was happening on the main one. First tip... bring cash! If you don't have cash for the door one person in your party has to go in and use an ATM and pay a fee. Only one person is allowed to go use the ATM. Like you could barely hear it when dancing * it's so hot in there even when you're not moving * Waiting up to 10 minutes to get a drink at the bar * I was told the bartender won't provide water cups unless you have a tab open. I asked for water with no ice so I won't have to get water as often and the bartender told me that she has to serve it with ice? * DJ and live band played a lot of different songs but called the same dances over and over again. The retail items are amusing with their innuendos. The patrons and bartenders are congenial. The live band was fun. The vibe is more easygoing than what I'm used to in Las Vegas. The crowd is more genuinely country compared to most of the country-goers at the Vegas dancehalls who simply dress country. I F*CKIN LOVE THIS PLACE!! I've always enjoyed country music and have been coming here for years. Cowboy Country is super diverse and has a good mix of people in every night it's open. I was taught the basics of the two step and line dancing by two friends (one who is Mexican and one who is Cambodian) and everyone here is super friendly. Come in early to avoid the $5 entrance fee (though I don't mind paying it to support CC staying open!) They have great drink options (don't forget to tip the bartenders generously!!) and good bar food and snacks to hold you over. I've brought my husband (then boyfriend and fiancé) to learn to dance too. We ended up doing a country two step at our fusion Hindu Indian, Catholic Vietnamese wedding in downtown New York City.
