Great food at a great price, I eat most of my meals here when I'm in town. 4 stars instead of 5 because, if you're expecting a casino, you're going to be disappointed; it's really just a bar with a few slot machines. Update: Went back yesterday for dinner and I see what some people are complaining about; from the time I got seated it took a good 20 minutes before the waitress took my order. In her defense, she was by herself and she was acting as hostess/waitress/cashier/busboy and the place was pretty busy...I didn't hold it against her, they need more help. Also, there's a lot more slot machines here than I thought. My guess was that they had a couple dozen, but it's more like 100. Initially wanting to take the family to an AYCE buffet but the pricing has gotten so insane that we were looking around for deal. $9.99 for prime rib dinner cannot be beat. Actually, everything on the menu was super reasonable and they were busy for dinner on a Thursday night. Our server Aggy was amazing, the restaurant area is not huge but she ran it like a champ. Provided topnotch service and remembered all of our orders accurately without any notes. She was the only one running the show while we were there. She also celebrated her 22nd anniversary working at Red Dolly the night we visited the restaurant. The prime rib was thin-ish but delicious, baked potato was creamy, the dinner came with a potato - mashed, baked or fries - of your choosing, or you can pick onion rings. It also came with a side of green beans, a small roll and horseradish sauce. All in all we had a great time at the Red Dolly at the end of the town and would highly recommend their prime rib special for anyone looking for a tasty deal. Prime Rib- I have been eating the Prime Rib special here when it was priced at just $6.99. The price went up and the quality went down. Very disappointing! I had it and the portion was very thin and very tough. Other changes now are no carry outs on the weekend. I'm not sure why but it's the new rule. I wanted to bring a French Dip home (good sandwich), but the waitress said no. So, I ordered it as a meal at the table which made her mad. I'm glad I did because the Prime Rib I couldn't get a knife through, so I ended up eating that mostly. Red dolly is a very old very small casino. It has a lot of nostalgia. The games are up-to-date, but there's not very many of them and usually they're they have a great little diner with really yummy food and good service. The staff there is friendly. Very good and still super cheap. The hostess and waitress were both great and very personable. We love visiting Blackhawk in the summer as it is a quiet get away from the big city of Dallas. We used to love going to Red Dolly each time we visited because they have great food! I mean we would eat there every day. While the customer service has never been that warm we usually get our food to go (the food is good). Unfortunately our last visit confirmed it would be our last. Although we have been visiting for the last 9 years and sending people to the Red Dolly Restaurant, after our treatment this week we have decided not to return. We ended up visiting and staying at Grand Z. We were treated very nicely (restaurant and hotel). The prime rib was delicious!. I don't usually leave reviews or negative ones, but I am sad that we have to part ways with Red Dolly Restaurant. It is all in how you treat people, but I doubt that matters to them. read more

This is my favorite cozy place in the casino area. You can leave the judgment and attitude at the door. The ladies Aggie and Nina are the heart of the restaurant. Each time they remember my order and are kind to my husband and myself. The upstairs restaurant is cheap, and the quality is high. I have eaten here 1,000's of times. My favorites entrees are as follows. At breakfast I love the eggs over easy, bacon, toast, and pancakes. Then for lunch I chose an old fashion hamburger and French fries. Lastly at dinner time I favor the chili fries with both chilies on the side for an appetizer. My husband enjoys prime rib dinner. While I favor the hamburger taco salad add ranch. Prime-rib should not be gray. Chicken should not be pink. After we were seated; toothless vagrants, with a dog-no less, were received and seated in the dining room. The building has the appearance of a historic establishment--straight out of Atlantic City or Lake Tahoe. Maybe it burned-down at some point? Cost/Benefit Analysis: Too high a cost with no benefit. This is one of the nicest casinos in Blackhawk. It's a small quaint place where have a great meal very tiny inside but very clean is the cleanest casino I've ever seen. They have a housekeeper on the floor who takes care of everything. I stopped in recently to take a little breather during the walk from Central City to Black Hawk, and to sign up for a players card. I'm not sure if this property is open 24 hours or not. Staff members were friendly, and I got a coupon for a $2.99 prime rib dinner, which I've heard is excellent. Big plus for the coupon not having an expiration date. The restaurant appeared to be on the upper floor. It looked like there was a good variety of machines, although I couldn't find the ones I usually play. If you want to know what it was like to go gambling in Colorado in the late 90s, this place is for you. They only have slots and video poker, from my friends who only like slots and video poker, they find this place fun and friendly. I like table games, so it was a little disappointing. They do have a restaurant upstairs with cheap specials and the food is pretty good considering the materials they have to work with (cheap materials will only elevate your food so far, even though the chef did his best). The upstairs is reminiscent of a restaurant in small town in Iowa, complete with the dessert case. So in other words, not really my bag, but a lot of people seem to like it for the reasons mentioned within. read more

The potatoes were cold, the corn ..sad.....the roll non existent, just a piece of toast. Left 90% of it uneaten.
