    Prime rib special
    Dawn S.

Waitress in the restaurant was so angry. I don't know why but she was super unfriendly. Prime rib special was below average beans were cold and unseasoned from a can. Gravy was way too salty. No bathroom upstairs in the restaurant which is actually just 8 tables thrown into an empty space no atmosphere at all

This may have just become my favorite casino in Black Hawk. The 9.99 prime rib is stellar and I'm coming back for the 7.77 breakfast which looks to have everything you need. The drinks are flowing, it's smoke free and all the employees seem to enjoy the customers.

This place is another cute little gem nestled above the small casino floor. We can twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner...overall the food did not disappoint. The picture I added was from a family breakfast, place is really small so to expedite our party of 7 we split up into 2 tables. My little brother could come since it's 21+ to eat here Fri-Sun. The service was very friendly and due it being a small place, we waited a bit for the food to come out but once it did it was very delicious...good enough to come back a 3rd time for a quick late night snack (recommends the Chicken Alfredo and the Burger)

Grill cheese with bacon added plus cheese curds!

We had the prime rib at another casino near by the night before so we chose to try something else. The wife wanted the cheese curds and I chose the grill cheese on Texas toast but added bacon. Very good and still super cheap. The hostess and waitress were both great and very personable. This was our second trip to Black Hawk and we knew we had to come back to the Red Dolly since it has such a huge history in the area and it is just cool to come into an old time casino like the Red Dolly. This place is a must.

    11.20.22 - Chicken Parmesan

A cute and small old timey casino in Black Hawk with a lot of charm. The casino is quite small and cramped, but lots of people were using the machines and having a good time. On the other hand, the restaurant could use some work. Being my sister's 21st birthday and prime rib being one of her favorite foods we decided to stop by, as they were advertising a $7.99 prime rib dinner. Me not being a big red meat eater, I opted for the chicken parmesan. Well, let's just say it was food. And none of it was made fresh. The noodles were all falling apart, the crusted chicken was soggy and on top of it all, the meal was cold. My sister thought the prime rib was good, but not the best. The drinks were probably the highlight. They made a good margherita and strawberry daiquiri.

$8 massive end cut prime rib platter!

$8 PRIME RIB PLATTER, A+++! Don't let the price deceive you, it's a delicious, flavorful, juicy, tasty and massive piece of prime rib! The bun, corn, potato, toppings are good but the star of the show is the PRIME RIB! I have eaten at specialty prime rib restaurants but this slice was steps above what I had before. Flavor, softness, juiciness, size, price..... Forgive my rambling. Service was friendly. Whole menu is affordable and patrons relaxed. Restaurant is on the 2nd floor. No need to get their players card to get deals/specials at their restaurant. Ground floor is a clean and bright gambling floor. Quite busy. They have their own parking lot. Also, the BR shuttle stops there.

I have been a frequent patron for approximately three years, visiting 2-3 times a week. I am an ELITE member and have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars here. I have always treated the staff respectfully and have regularly shown my appreciation for their work. Tonight, I played more than $10,000 and participated in the casino's Mercedes-Benz promotion/finale. After leaving a table, I had $400. The casino's surveillance later confirmed that I had $400 at the table. I went to the bathroom, then immediately checked the money in my hand and confirmed with my partner that I still had $400 before going directly to the cage. I handed the money to the cage employee, who said I had given them only $300. When I questioned the discrepancy, I was told to "look on the floor," and another employee suggested I may have lost the money in the bathroom. I requested a manager. The manager initially said surveillance showed only $300 at the cage, but after reviewing the table footage, he confirmed that I had $400 there. Despite that confirmation, I was told I must have lost the additional $100 somewhere between the table, bathroom, and cage. I asked to see the surveillance footage so the matter could be resolved objectively. I was refused and told I would need to subpoena it through court. The manager's conduct was especially concerning. He personally represented himself as the "head manager" and highest-ranking manager at the entire casino. However, when I requested his name, business card, or any other identifying information so I could formally document the complaint, he refused. I also attempted to photograph his name badge and was told I could not. When I continued asking questions, I was told that security would be called if I did not leave. This is not about losing $100 while gambling. It is about a cash discrepancy, the lack of transparency, and how a legitimate concern was handled. The casino confirmed I had $400 at the table, I personally confirmed it before approaching the cage, and the cage employee said only $300 was received. I am asking management and corporate leadership to review the surveillance footage, cage transaction, employee conduct, and management response. Customers deserve honesty, accountability, transparency, and respect--regardless of their status or how much they spend. After three years of loyalty, I will be seriously reconsidering where I spend my money.

After we were in our rooms we went down and over the sky bridge over the street to the casino. I went over to the bar but a couple of twenties and the bar tender asked me why I wanted to which I responded "Jameson on the rocks". I was surprised to hear that he could not offer me Jameson for free but he did offer Tullamore which is also an Irish Whiskey. And it's good too so I had no problem. I really enjoyed sitting at the bar and talking to the bar tender about the area. The casino is really nice although the girls were not very successful at this casino. And I don't mean for a minute or two... we waited 10-15 minutes before anyone finally showed up. Once we got into our room, it honestly just felt... dirty. I'm pretty sure the carpet has been there since dinosaurs roamed the Earth. The whole room just had that gross, grimy feeling. The customer service didn't get much better. Around midnight, I called the front desk to ask if they had feminine products. The gentleman on the phone said, "Yes, just come down to the front desk." So down I went... only to find myself standing there waiting. Again. After about 10 minutes, I noticed a sign that said to call a number if no one was at the desk. I called and was told no one would be there until the morning. Seriously? Thankfully, another employee happened to walk by and told me there *should* be feminine products in a few of the vending machines. Great! Except... nope. I checked three different machines, and not a single one had any. By this point, I felt like I'd walked a marathon. You know how casino hotels are... everything is somehow a mile away. I ended up rushing over to a different casino and made it with about five minutes before their store closed. The entire stay was one frustration after another. Between the lack of staff, the dirty room, and the poor customer service, this place was a huge disappointment. I won't be staying here again.

The brewery has been going for over thirty years, which is a lifetime for this industry. The beer selection was fairly limited compared to the dozens you get at some breweries. They had basically one offering of each type (stout, ipa, lager, ect). There's recipes seem to have been going for years and they have all sorts of old labels from decades ago. Lots of video poker machines if that's your thing, and a cool swag shop. The rest 2/3 of the building is more your typical independent casino. I opted for the Chocolate Stout, and it was fantastic! Never know what you'll get with a new brewery but this was a nice dark beer with lots of malt and sweet Carmel flavor. One of the top stouts I've tried, and I've had a lot! Definitely would be back for that same beer, and to try more!

In those early days, Dostal was a place where people came for a good pizza or sub and enjoyed a little gaming on the side. It was part of the community. Unfortunately, the place today feels like a shell of what it once was. The food has always been average, which is something many customers can accept, but poor and disrespectful service is never acceptable. I brought my concerns to the owner, Lisa, hoping they would be taken seriously, but the response was disappointing and dismissive. It's unfortunate to see a longtime local establishment lose the character it once had. Good food and good ownership go hand in hand, and when both are lacking, customers notice. After many years of supporting Dostal Alley, I won't be returning. Farewell, Dostal Alley.
