What's going on here? Two weeks ago we were visiting from out of the area on a Tuesday evening and they were open but only had 3 flavors. We didn't' get anything. Wow! Has some of he finest ice cream I have ever had. Mocha Toffee (forgot the rest) was the best! I went there again today, but I see they are on vacation until tomorrow. Guess I should have checked. Will be there Wednesday for sure. Must try their peach. I was referred by a friend. I must say, it is by far the richest, buttery tasting ice cream I have ever had. I do not understand the review by Sandra M. There are no chemicals added according to the young lady. It is also posted on the front of the ice cream cabinet. I walked into the Red Fox Creamery, greeted with many smiles from the staff and owner, and instantly felt right at home. I love a restaurant that has a small town feel and a lot of heart, which is exactly the vibe I got here. I ordered a chocolate milkshake and it didn't last me very long as I drank it a bit too fast because it was so delicious. I will definitely be visiting the Red Fox Creamery again, especially since I am certain the milkshake I enjoyed is an indication of how good all the other drink and food choices must be. Very Rude!!!!! I give this a 1 star based on the service we received. My 10 year old daughter asked for a tester of one of the flavors (peanut butter/twix). She was told no that she couldn't have one because the line-up was too long.(Half of the line up was all with us!) Why say this when you advertise tester spoons on your counter!!!!!!!!!!!! She told my daughter that if she liked Peanut Butter and Twix bars then she would like it. I told her she was being rude and she said she was not being rude. She said if my daughter wanted a tester then fine everyone else would have to wait. My daughter does like Peanut Butter and Twix bars but did not like this ice-cream. I really could not believe we were treated this way. Especially my daughter who politely asked. In 2010 I discovered their amazing ice cream which was then Middleburg Creamery. Every Friday they came through to the local Farmer's Market with their ice cream truck. The ice cream was fresh tasting with no food additives. The flavors were fantastic like Mocha Toffee Crunch, Cookies and Cream, and more. But then in 2011 after changing to Red Fox Creamery they started adding food additives to their flavors. The Mocha Toffee Crunch went from being the most amazing ice cream I ever had to having a icier more chemical like taste. What's even worse is that they charge the same price as before but providing a cheaper product. They have lost a good customer. read more

IDK what this girl behind the counter problem is but today i visited this place with my two kids and bought a $4 tiny scoop of ice cream the first thing she says after i pay is "oh you know we close at 5 right? In case u wanted to eat here...it was 4:44 like hinting me go away don't eat here, second i asked if i could use the bathroom really quick and she says oh well ull have to go through the dinning room and its wet so...and just stared I said whatever and left, but plain rude, will not be back and won't recomend to anyone! read more

My son can't go to Snow White Grille without stopping by here afterward but I try to steer clear of this place. My son usually gets a chocolate cone and I get a shake. The shakes are just awful!! Lots of milk and not a lot of ice cream. Also, the customer service there is HORRIBLE!!! I prefer Pack's Frozen Custard. read more

Ice cream is fine, not a huge selection, but the service was bad. Ordered a waffle cone, woman behind the counter broke it, pushed the ice cream in anyway, didn't have enough of the second flavor so she threw a tiny crumb of it on top, then charged for a double waffle cone. BAD BAD Business!!!!! At the Bluemont fair today bought my daughter-in-law an ice-cream cone from these people but couldn't decide on what flavour for my self. When I asked to sample the coconut flavour the lady who waited on me said they don't let people sample at the fair. She said the ice-cream was good Bla Bla Bla... So I went ahead and hesitantly bought one for my self. After tasting the buttery full fat canned milk flavoured ice ream my thought was, " If she had just let me sample it first!!." So, I went back to ask the lady to change my order because I thought is was pretty bad. I kindly asked for the safe plain vanilla flavour instead. Ice cream lady became very aggressive and said that I asked for the coconut flavour but when I tried to explain to her that if she had just let me taste it first I would of known I didn't like it. She angrily insisted that she wasn't going to compensate me either.way. In disbelief I walked away with her holding my cone in her hands as she angrily hurled insults my way. Stopped by for ice cream during the beer festival. The sign said "pick your ice cream, pick your cone". I did and when I reached the register received a shock.... $6 for basically half a scoop....both employees were rude too. We won't be back. a little bit pricey and not a whole lot of selection on the lunch menu, but the ice cream is really good and the BBQ sandwhich is excellent. A good place to run in for a quick lunch or to grab something to take back to the office if you work downtown. The ladies beyond the counter have always been friendly to me. Also have some good breakfast sandwhiches, but they don't seem to really advertise the the fact that breakfast is available. read more

THIS IS NOT HOMEMADE ICE CREAM! I asked, and they use a premix from Shenandoah Pride. It has CORN syrup, and no sugar,. It also has chemicals, so beware! They just pour the premade mix in a batch freezer and call it homemade. They should be ashamed. I hope someone reports this, and it is only 15% butterfat. NOT 18 as advertised. Owner Kathy was very rude to my family today. I had checked with her on Sat to see when she was open for Memorial Day. She said regular time. We planned to have breakfast there, take the Winchester walking tour, and then head back to the shop for ice cream. Instead, when we arrived (after the time she said she'd be open) she rudely told us that they weren't open, and then she said even nastier "That's why I have the closed sign out." I was so flabbergasted at being spoken to in that way, I didn't even respond. She then said begrudgingly that we could have a seat and wait 10 minutes. If she had greeted us with a hello, I'm sorry, we're not open yet, we would have waited. Instead, we walked out, and had a delicious breakfast and friendly customer service across the street at the Espresso Bar. I wouldn't support a business that treats customers so badly. Try the Espresso Bar. Yummy breakfast sandwich, pastries, hot chocolate and lattes. My children were disappointed that we didn't get ice cream after the tour, but I hope they learned to always treat people, especially customers, with respect.
