We have ordered from them for over 2 years, same thing and this time my spicy scallop hand roll came as a mountain of rice with some hot sauce squirted on top with 2 pieces of scallop. We have always gotten good service and great food, but when I called to ask what happened and what they would do the manager said nothing. Apparently she's new and so is the sushi chef, who is obviously not trained. When I asked if I ordered again in the future if it would go back to the same, she said I don't know. Everything was I don't know. I tried to call and gave them a chance, but I got nothing. We were seated under a dripping air conditioner that on several occasions dripped into our food and drinks. Food wasn't anything to write home about. Waiter brought me the wrong dish, and then told me I had misspoken and it was my fault. He offered to replace it, but we had just waited almost 45 minutes for food. Found a pretty large bone in a piece of (raw) salmon that cut my cheek. Sushi fish should not have any bones. Period. That's disgusting. Also, my whole party is now sick. This is some really really good Chinese food in Melbourne, FL. It has this higher class feeling inside that puts it a few notches up from those other places. The staff is very very friendly and helpful when ordering. We got so many dishes and they all were great! My mom ordered a hot sour soup that was amaaaazing. Then a set of gyoza for the appetizer. Our entrees consisted of green river sushi roll, combo fried rice, sweet & sour pork, and a happy family. It all went together so well. The rice was cooked well. The pork crunched nicely with the delicious sauce. But the sauce on the happy family had to be the best part. Perfect flavor for the mixture of seafood and vegetables. Pair the meal with your favorite beer and it is complete. It ends with with orange slices and the typical fortune cookie. I don't give 5 stars that often so this was a good find. read more

Meh, I've had MUCH better soups and Chinese foods, being from California, it IS hard to please me in that subject. But really, the salt/soy sauce was flowing way too heavily in this kitchen! There was a bone or something in the soup, it was so salty I had to push it away, the entree tasted nearly like the soup...oh well, it was just lunch. But I LOVED the space, it was really pretty, clean and very Asian. I don't think I'd go for the sushi here based upon my first meal here and the salt. I apologize to those of you who loved this place, I've personally had better. There's more great news than bad news here. 5 stars for food/ 3 stars for service. Was there the second time within a year. Have to get here more often. I'm a snowbird and am in Vero Beach for the most part. What I also learned was that they opened an additional restaurant at the Melbourne mall on Route 192, so that would help in distance. I shared three appetizers, hot and sour soup, fried pork dumplings and scallion pancake; all delicious Even the fried noodles with duck sauce was addictive. As were the entrees. I had the red ginger/spicy chicken that was very good! perfect spicy-ness added and a delicious sauce. My wife had the peking duck on the bone ad It was also a great dish, moist and enough of it, served with the additional "pancake style crepes" you get with the moo shu dishes. And lately to have a pot of tea that was steeping in its leaves...stronger the longer you wait and piping hot was a great. My only disappointment was that we arrived at 6:10 and if I hadn't spoken up after 10 minutes asking for my waitress, I still may be waiting.The appetizers were served at a fairly normal time. We had a concert at the King Center at 8:00pm so I wasn't too worried. But then we didn't get the entrees till 7:15. there were others also waiting a long time. After a long time, the waitress kept promising it would be out soon, but that never happened. There is a time to wait and even above that...but we dine out a lot and know when it is just getting unbearable and you really just want to bolt! At one point, the waitress never bothered to reassure us and then finally asked again. The food arrived at 7:20. Yes, it was their busy time, but then what annoyed me was that someone near us seated just before 7:00 was served about the same time we were. I complained to the waitress who sent the manager over and we told him how disappointed we were. He apologized. Now I know enough not to dine there until 7:00pm. We did get to the concert at 7:40pm. But by then, I was very upset and it took a while to forget this. BUT again, the food was the best in Chinese that I've had anywhere in the area; but the service and reassurance by the wait staff needs improvement. For years we have eaten here and the Ginger was always five stars. The last four visits have been horrible. The specialty fried rice is so salty you can barely eat it. Sweet and sour chicken is over fried and chicken is grisly . Something has happened to this once wonderful restaurant over this past year. Also the familiar sight of Grace or her husband are lacking. We walked in 15 minutes early for a 6.30pm reservation. I didn't expect to be seated right away, in fact I expected to be invited to sit at the bar while our table was being readied and we waited for our friends to arrive. Instead, the gentleman behind the desk started rambling about a reservation at 6.00pm distracting them and that's why our table wasn't ready, I suggested we would wait at the bar. 10 minutes later our table was ready and we were shown the table which was set for two and the reservation was for four. I spoke to the same matre'de and he said the server would tend to that, strange, what was the point of a reservation! Our friends arrived and our waiter shortly after. While waiting I looked at their carry out menu and thought one of their combination items looked good, when I couldn't find any combination dishes on their regular menu our server informed me that only applied to carry out. My girlfriend ordered Lo Mein, our friends ordered Eggplant and a spicy Chicken dish. I ordered Ginger Chicken. I have to admit all the dishes smelled great and tasted good too (we shared), all the ingredients were fresh and authentic! I would recommend this place on food alone. Our waiter was friendly and efficient, attentive, but not hovering. If it wasn't for the strange initial reactions from management I would have rated them higher. My confirmation told me I should have my food in 30-45 minutes. At 7:45 when I had still not received my food I called the restaurant. After going back and forth for 5 minutes with the girl who was very hard to understand she finally put the manager on the phone. He informed me that they "forgot about" my order and had the excuse that they were "very busy". He didn't offer me a discount or anything special to make up for the inconvenience this caused me. Red Ginger at the Melbourne mall was a place I really enjoyed. Then last night (4-16-19) my cravings were extinguished but one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. My birthday dinner of white snow prawns were like eating rubber, no matter how long you chewed it wasn't breaking apart. The fried rice was so dry it had gone back to an uncooked stage. We ordered online through the restaurants preferred app (BeyondMenu), for delivery twice. Each experience was progressively worse. The first time I ordered, delivery came in a little over an hour. The woman that answered the phone said they only had one driver so I figured it was a one off. The second time I ordered, delivery came 1 hour and 50 minutes later. When I called after the first hour it seemed as if I reminded them to check the app for orders. I also requested extra soy sauce in 2 sections of my order and was only brought 3 little packets for 3 sushi rolls. The food was okay, but honestly not worth the hassle and by the time the food arrived, the evening was ruined. I recommend calling in an order and getting take out until the staff can figure out online ordering. read more

I could write a very long review about Red Ginger but sometimes less is more. Red Ginger is by far the best Chinese restaurant in the Space Coast. The only Chinese restaurant in Florida where I have had better food is the China Grill in South Beach (but the price point is almost triple that of Red Ginger). For Chinese in the Space Coast nothing is close. My favorite item on the Menu is Lamb Shagu, which is served in a cast iron pot, a dish of lamb, a brown sauce, and purple eggplant that are out of this world. Lunch is an even better value than dinner. They have early bird specials before 6:00 p.m. on weekdays. Their décor is better than any of their competition. If you order takeout they use premium containers essentially Tupperware with a lid, instead of Styrofoam. If you put really hot food in Styrofoam your food will taste like Styrofoam. Red Ginger is a class act. While Brevard may have one or two places with better Sushi... if members of your dining party order Sushi they will not be disappointed. For Chinese there is no reason to go anywhere else. Yes it is that good. read more

Menu on their website is apparently not updated. Called and ordered off menu and the guy on the phone told me prices were not right. Would not honor pricing, ended up costing 5 extra dollars. Food used to be great and would warrant spending 22 dollars on chicken and broccoli and chicken fried rice in the past. Over the years the quality and portion sizes have diminished. We absolutely love Red Ginger. It is truly one of the best Chinese Restaurants in Brevard. The staff and managers are all very attentive and pleasant. Especially the Suntree location where my wife and I have had wonderful dining experiences. We would like to Thank the management there for their choosing a fine impeccable staff. Especially their head Hostess Kaitlyn. Who works beyond and above every customers expectations. We were very surprised however, while there last week, a crude couple had brought Kaitlyn to tears by their rudeness. We were seated just at the next table and over heard the entire conversation. If patrons cant be respectful to their staff then they should not be dining out. read more
