Basic but good! While the place was very crowded and it was quite slow to get my lobster roll, I genuinely don't have any complaints about the lobster roll itself - it was fantastic. I can't say that the people behind the counter were the nicest though it was busy so they were probably overwhelmed. The ambience of the place is an indoor-outdoor grab and go type spot so almost exactly what you would expect for a lobster roll place. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my lobster roll and would get one again from Red Hook.

Sometimes you just really want lobster. You know the soft, buttery, melt in your mouth texture with a hint of sweetness? And that's what you will find here. I walked over here on a Monday afternoon to refuel after sunbathing and it was so worth it. I ordered a lobster roll CT style with Cape Cod chips on the side. They didn't have the passion fruit mocktail I wanted but no biggie. My roll came out after about 5 min. It was packed with just the right amount of tender lobster meat liberally doused in butter, though more of a brown butter flavor to be precise. The bread was toasted but soggy already and the scallions added a nice color contrast. The lemon wedge is needed for that acidity. I would say the portion size is fairly good, and the taste is super fresh. I highly recommend you come here and try one for yourself as you enjoy all that Rockaway has to offer!

Part of a building on the beach with multiple food/drink spots. Got fish tacos from here and they were really good. Nice crispy texture held up even under the slaw and green sauce. Which were both fresh and zesty. The area is packed with people and communal style picnic tables. Sometimes there's live music. You will not find parking around here for sure.

I really enjoyed my time with my family at the beach with my parents and my dog and wanted to order some delicious food. We came by the Red Hook Lobster Pound in hopes of finding something good for lunch. However, they ran out of almost everything and didn't seem to bother stocking up on things for the weekend, which is weird because it was the summer on the beach. We ordered avocado fries, which turned out to be guacamole on french fries. It was interesting and tasted good, but overall confusing and disappointing.

I love going to the Red Hook location and I was so thrilled to stumble upon the Rockaway Beach 97 location within the Rockaway Bazaar. Their lobster is always fresh, with huge pieces. They offer 2 styles Maine and Connecticut. Maine has lemon mayo and Connecticut is with warm butter. I went Connecticut style savored every single bite. Fries were tasty and portion enough to share. Service was friendly, and the location can't be beat. Already looking forward to my next visit!

We ordered the sampler appetizer (which consisted of wings, fish cakes, and the spicy shrimp )and we also got an order of the lobster dip with tortillas. For our entrées, we got an order of the oxtails with rice and peas and their version of Rasta pasta with jerk chicken. Everything was cooked very well and tasted good. Nothing really stood out, but it was solid. My friend and I both thought that the food might've been actually a little bit on the bland side.

Veteran Jamaican Chef Devon Strachan prepares dishes from his home that are commonly known, but with his own twist. This is as close as you can get to a five star Jamaican seafood restaurant in the coast of Jamaica, but in NYC. Very clean inside, & very attentive & friendly service. Their whole fish (multiple styles), fish cakes, baked macaroni & cheese, lobster, & oxtail are all the best West Indian versions I've ever had in NYC. They also feature live music on weekends, with a mix of reggae, soca, jazz, & the obligatory classic rock cover bands. My only complaint is that they are not open for lunch during the week - in which case I wld eat here even more often! Writing this review & thinking about their food, is making me too hungry, so I'm going to end it now!

There is a parking lot past the restaurant because you'll see there isn't much street parking near the establishment. The space itself is stunning big windows everywhere that let in the most gorgeous natural light, high ceilings, and beautiful decor throughout. It feels open, airy, and thoughtfully designed. There's also a live singer who performs on weekends and is absolutely wonderful, which adds such a nice touch to the atmosphere. One of my favorite details was the pasta station just behind the bar where you can watch them making fresh pasta from scratch, such a cool experience. Service was great, and our waitress was very patient with all of our questions. Now the food... even better. I had the eggs Benedict, and it definitely did not disappoint. We also tried the crispy calamari, which was fried to perfection, and the meatballs both were delicious. If this was just a sneak peek of what their dinner menu is like, I already know it won't disappoint. Can't wait to go back!

The seafood was fresh, and the citrus was present, strong, but not overwhelming. Most of the vendors on the Rockaway Beach boardwalk concessions are overpriced... They either offer a small portion, or are just outright overpriced (think $20 for a crappy fast food style cheeseburger). I got the 97th St. Special at La Cevicheria, which included shrimp and fish, ceviche, quinoa, and causa, which is a Peruvian style mashed potato flavored with the same citrus as the fish (the causa tastes MUCH better than it sounds. The portion size was appropriate, if not slightly generous for the price. And I felt satisfied after the meal. As far as the location, there is nothing better for ambience than sitting down by the beach, enjoying fresh, delicious seafood. I cannot wait to eat here again.
