Basic but good! While the place was very crowded and it was quite slow to get my lobster roll, I genuinely don't have any complaints about the lobster roll itself - it was fantastic. I can't say that the people behind the counter were the nicest though it was busy so they were probably overwhelmed. The ambience of the place is an indoor-outdoor grab and go type spot so almost exactly what you would expect for a lobster roll place. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my lobster roll and would get one again from Red Hook.

Sometimes you just really want lobster. You know the soft, buttery, melt in your mouth texture with a hint of sweetness? And that's what you will find here. I walked over here on a Monday afternoon to refuel after sunbathing and it was so worth it. I ordered a lobster roll CT style with Cape Cod chips on the side. They didn't have the passion fruit mocktail I wanted but no biggie. My roll came out after about 5 min. It was packed with just the right amount of tender lobster meat liberally doused in butter, though more of a brown butter flavor to be precise. The bread was toasted but soggy already and the scallions added a nice color contrast. The lemon wedge is needed for that acidity. I would say the portion size is fairly good, and the taste is super fresh. I highly recommend you come here and try one for yourself as you enjoy all that Rockaway has to offer!

Part of a building on the beach with multiple food/drink spots. Got fish tacos from here and they were really good. Nice crispy texture held up even under the slaw and green sauce. Which were both fresh and zesty. The area is packed with people and communal style picnic tables. Sometimes there's live music. You will not find parking around here for sure.

I really enjoyed my time with my family at the beach with my parents and my dog and wanted to order some delicious food. We came by the Red Hook Lobster Pound in hopes of finding something good for lunch. However, they ran out of almost everything and didn't seem to bother stocking up on things for the weekend, which is weird because it was the summer on the beach. We ordered avocado fries, which turned out to be guacamole on french fries. It was interesting and tasted good, but overall confusing and disappointing.

I love going to the Red Hook location and I was so thrilled to stumble upon the Rockaway Beach 97 location within the Rockaway Bazaar. Their lobster is always fresh, with huge pieces. They offer 2 styles Maine and Connecticut. Maine has lemon mayo and Connecticut is with warm butter. I went Connecticut style savored every single bite. Fries were tasty and portion enough to share. Service was friendly, and the location can't be beat. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Two of them were clearly not fresh. I asked the waitress to replace them, and she called the owner over. I explained that I had gotten sick from eating a bad oyster before and was concerned about the freshness. He took the tray away and said, "Then you shouldn't order oysters." That response was rude and unprofessional. At that point, I should have canceled the rest of my order. We also ordered two pasta dishes. The Squid Ink Linguine was just okay--nothing memorable. The Spicy Sausage Gramigna was disappointing because it was supposed to include broccoli rabe, but there wasn't any in the dish. Overall, the poor quality of the oysters and the owner's dismissive attitude made for a very disappointing dining experience.

But we also wanted pastas to try and that's an all day menu (thank god!!) our waitress was amazing and so sweet and guided us throughout the menu. we started with the lemon morning buns and cacio e pepe tater tots from the brunch menu. Then on the all day menu, we ordered: charred octopus, chef A's bolognese, squid ink linguine, a side of wild mushrooms, and espresso martinis!! Our favorite things were the: tots, morning buns, mushrooms, bolognese and espresso martinis. The morning buns were so light and fluffy and the lemon flavor came through. The tots were showered in parm cheese and I felt like I was in heaven. The mushrooms were so damn good and flavorful!!!! Chef A's bolognese was rich and so tasty, pasta was perfectly cooked and i had to order one to go. The octopus itself was delicious and the orange vinaigrette surprised us. The only complaint was that the butter beans weren't fully cooked, some were still under. Overall I'll definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!!
