It was my first time visiting this restaurant. We were a party of 4 and went there on Saturday during the lunch hour and were surprised to find the restaurant empty. The ambiance is quite chill with a bar at one end and light classical music playing in the background. It was good to see some large print art of Kolkata where Indo-chinese food originates, telling me the restaurant knew their history. We soon sat at a table and were promptly attended by a server. The menu is small 2 pager (always a good sign) but with a good variety of items. We started with Drums of Heaven, Chilli Chicken, Manchow Soup with chicken, Coriander Soup with prawns and Hot and Sour Soup with chicken. The Soups were warm and hearty but I was a bit disappointed with the quantity. The bowl size was small and was barely enough for 1 person. However the taste was good and hit the right spice note, especially for Manchow soup The chicken starters were quite delectable and we did enjoy them. The Drums of heaven even though covered in sauce held on to the crispy texture. For the mains, we ordered Sizzling vegetables and Chilli Garlic Noodles with chicken. The Sizzling vegetables were seasonal and came stir fried in a red sauce. It was spicy and we enjoyed it. The noodles however were a bit disappointing both in taste and quantity. They lacked any depth of flavor and the quantity was barely enough for 2 people. A clear miss here. Time came for desserts and we ordered the Fried Icecream and Sizzling Chocolate Lava Cake. The Fried Icecream crust was delicious and the Chocolate Lava Cake was a pleasure for the soul. Both were quite exquisite and I highly recommend them. The bill for 4 came around $130 , which is quite decent for the things we ordered. On the cleanliness side, the tables were neatly orchestrated with clean cutlery. Also, the restroom was clean and well maintained. To suffice, this is a good place for a nice family lunch and dinner. Also a great place to hang out with friends and try some spicy food -- they have some devil spicy dishes for which you have to sign a waiver. They also have a great weekday lunch offer. Overall, a nice Indo-Chinese restaurant to satisfy your hakka cravings. The taste is quite good but the quantity might disappoint some. Signing Off, CanIndian Foodie ...Stay Hungry

We went here for a lunch on Saturday when they just opened and were immediately seated. The restaurant is very spacious and look modern. The food came out pretty fast. However, I feel like they were overpriced for the portion we got. The service was just ok. Our server took our order and never checked on us until she gave us the check although there were only 3 occupied tables in the restaurant. - Dry chili chicken: this item came out suspiciously super fast - like literally 2 mins after we ordered. My husband requested spicy but we got a medium spiciness instead. The flavor was good. The chicken pieces were well cooked and tender. - Honey chicken: there were lots of chicken pieces and they were tender. The sauce was good but nothing special for me. - Chili garlic noodle: it was mild spicy. The noodle was cooked well (still firm & has a bit of chew). Taste-wise, it was ok (tasted the garlic). For me personally, it's a solid 3.5 stars. The food was tasty but the portion was too small for its price plus the service was kinda lacking.

Stopped by to have lunch and try something new! Pleasantly delicious!! The dry chicken chilli is delicious with a good light heat, the honey chicken is a safe bet for those who can not tolerate heat -- delicious!! Yet out of everything the Momo dumplings were the best!! Each one tastes like a meal on their own, my husband and I favored these immensely!! The dessert was great too!! We've never had anything like that before. Highly recommend trying. We will be back to share with family -- also to know your employee Sanjay was a fabulous waiter!!

    This was the goopy vegetables.

Ambiance is awkward. Too quiet, no TV's on and only one table of people eating so we opted for takeout. Service was okay. We asked for the honey chicken and grilled vegetables to have "light gravy" or "light sauce" and they said no. The food was dripping in saucey goop. I mean an entire bowl of sugar and cornstarch. The food that was not drenched was actually pretty great and tasty. Good amount of spice to it. We ordered the fried rice and garlic noodles. Overall, especially with the high prices, we would not come here again. We noticed a 10% off note for take out on the yelp responses..would have been nice had they actually offered it.

Decided to try this place after reading great reviews and on a recommendation. So glad we did! All of the dishes were so full of flavor. I really liked the noodles with the vege coins.. omg that Manchurian sauce is drinkable!! Chicken drums were also delish! Fried rice was good but I think I'll try a different one next time. Sizzling chicken was a sweet sour preparation, very good! We will definitely be returning to try more dishes! Yum!!

Delicious! Fresh Asian Fusion food, beautiful atmosphere, excellent service. I went in by myself and had lunch. I had the curry rice noodles with vegetables no protein. I was not sure if I'd like it, but I LOVE curry and rice noodles so I tried it. It was wonderful. No overpowering curry taste, but rather a pleasant curry flavor and what seemed like a nice broth base flavor (no broth). The vegetables were crisp and fresh. I would love to go as a group and sample more things!

    CHICKEN DRUMS OF HEAVEN

Indo Chinese is one of the most popular cuisine and fusion in India and when done right is one of the yummiest. Been here twice and love the history place. We tried drums of heaven and they were made perfect, crispy and juicy with explosion of flavors. My better half decided to give the devils Chicken a try (made in ghost pepper sauce), they made us sign a waver and rightly so :) :), it literally burns your tongue but definitely must try it once kind of an experience. The manchow soup was perfectly made but was bit light in flavors nothing that condiments can't fix, the desserts were delightful and really yummy but comes with high price tag for the size of the portions. Overall this place serves good indo Chinese food, has great ambience and good service. Be ready to shell out good money, our check came to about $185 for two people. Will visit again!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Red Hot Chilli Pepper in Folsom, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Snehal, the manager, has truly worked wonders in creating a unique and vibrant dining experience. What sets this place apart is not just its Indo Chinese cuisine but also the warm and inviting atmosphere that permeates the entire establishment. Being the only Indo Chinese restaurant in the Sacramento area, Red Hot Chilli Pepper has carved a niche for itself, and I must say, it's a niche well worth exploring. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a welcoming vibe that instantly made me feel at home. One standout aspect of my visit was the impeccable service provided by Praveen, an exceptional waiter who went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. His fast and friendly service added to the overall positive impression of the restaurant. Now, let's talk about the food--a true highlight of my visit. I started with the TROPICAL "LYCHEE" MARTINI, a delightful concoction that blended the sweetness of lychee with the kick of vodka. It set the perfect tone for the culinary journey that followed. The Chilli Chicken, ordered at medium spice level, was an absolute winner. Cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spices, it left my taste buds dancing with joy. Following that, I indulged in some vegetarian momos that were a burst of flavor and texture. The softness of the momo paired with the delicious filling made it a memorable dish. The Calcutta Chicken transported me straight to the streets of Calcutta. The authenticity of the dish was unparalleled, and I appreciated the chef's dedication to preserving traditional flavors. To wrap up my meal, I opted for the detox tea--a refreshing and healthy choice that perfectly concluded the culinary journey. The attention to detail in both food and beverages truly sets Red Hot Chilli Pepper apart. The ambiance of the restaurant is another noteworthy aspect. It's evident that careful thought has gone into creating an atmosphere that complements the dining experience. The result is an ambiance that enhances the joy of savoring each dish. In conclusion, my experience at Red Hot Chilli Pepper was nothing short of fantastic. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to indulge in more of their delectable offerings. Kudos to Snehal, Praveen, and the entire team for creating a culinary haven in Folsom!

The flavor of this food is absolutely amazing! The service is even better! Praveen excelled in every way and we had an amazing experience. On a Monday night, the place is chill and so relaxing. We had the fire cracker chicken, noodles and cauliflower!!

Do you have gluten free items?

Yes we do have gluten free food.

Can the owner confirm if the non-veg served in this restaurant is Halal?

Yes our non veg is Halal.

They're almost double price compared to most Chinese places? Worth it?

I was thinking the same. Indo-Chinese doesn't equate to double the prices.

When are you open for Indoor Dining?

At this point, we are just waiting for the city to schedule its inspection. Our hope is to open on Wed 21st Dec

Their orange chicken is super flavorful, and I loved that they used real oranges. The Kung Pao chicken is amazing--they include a variety of veggies and squash, which I loved. The beef chow mein was on point as well. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the chow mein was a little too soft (though the flavor was there), and the price felt a bit steep for the portion size. Three orders for $60--eeep! Streamed ones have a slight chew to the dumpling exterior than the boiled or fried dumplings. But doesn't take away from the taste. Pan fried is good when you want a crispier exterior and slight crunch. Whatever way you order 'em... it's all good! The egg custards, sesame balls, and crab rangoons are classic and my other go tos. Only one table occupied on a Friday at 4PM so we hit the jackpot on timing. We were seated…read moreimmediately and offered a beverage. We chose a hot tea because it was a little chilly inside. The tea was amazing and was great to enjoy while perusing the menu. It's been awhile since we reviewed our go to Chinese restaurant so we set out to try some new dishes as well as old favorites for a fresh rating: Hot Tea - 10 - Lemon Black Tea from a special partner in China. Wonton Soup - 8 - Good flavor in a clear broth. Wonton tastes good but could use more flavor. A solid version of Wonton soup without the frills. Chicken Fried Rice - 8 - Needs a touch of soy sauce amongst other flavors Chicken Chow Mein - 9 - Almost perfect version of the dish. No flavor needed but always room for some pizzazz. Sweet and Sour Pork - 8 - Oerfectly sweetened sauce but the chicken could use a little more crisp and it could use more charred onions, bell peppers and carrots. Honey Walnut Prawns - 9 - Perfectly crisped prawns and toasted candied walnuts (and I don't like walnuts) but slightly over-sweetened sauce. Almost perfect!!! Chicken and Mixed Vegetable Stir Fry Medium Spicy - 7 - Perfectly cooked vegetables and tender chicken but the sauce amd chicken were on the bland side. Great service throughout the dinner but they do tend to stay in the back of the restaurant servicing DoorDash orders so grab their attention when they walk past! The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food I honestly don't think they raised prices through COVID / inflation. I'm bumping them up to 4 stars...keep cookin!
