I would of given it at least 1 more star for "convenient location" BUT after having to cut our trip short and return home due to pregnancy complications, I would of given it negative stars for horrible staff. I received a VM on the day of my stay from a staff member and when I called back to explain my situation and apologized for not arriving and that I thought my husband had called to cancel the staff member's front was "I wish I knew! I went to the room 10 times." What kind of reply is that to a customer apologizing for having to leave unexpectedly as I am 6 months pregnant and had complications that made me have to leave the Cape and drive home that night? I'm glad I didn't stay there but I'm more shocked and disturbed by the horrible staff. read more

The Spring Garden Inn is very charming. We stayed there in early October. Our room was clean and cozy. We had a room on the second floor so we had a private balcony. They have a beautiful view into the marsh. The entire back yard lawn and garden to the inn is beautiful and well maintained. This is an older inn so don't expect things to be completely renovated and modern. Our room had original wood wall panels and ceiling beams, flat screen tv, cable and wifi. Great room for the price! Their complimentary breakfast is simple and satisfying. We enjoyed our breakfast coffee and mini-muffins on the quiet balcony with the great view. Great place. I highly recommend. read more

Are you kidding me ???????? I came here with family and stayed in room 5 & 7. Our room was Room 5 . I noticed right away that it had BROWN hair on side of toilet, dingy. ..it would have been ok except I'm a blonde , my spouse shaves his head, ..Second issue was toilet was not clean, let's add that the beds are falling apart unstable, used up, lastly and grand finale ....I am deathly afraid of spiders and as I just about get settled in bed- out comes a HUGE spider like the kind you see in a BARN....the type of spider that you hit once, it's still alive,..twice- it curls up and the third time it charges right at you. I do not do well with insects that bite. I am here in the area for a wedding and we were booked this motel stay by a family member. I can say without hesitation this was NOT quaint, sweet, or Cape Cod like at all, but rather a motel room needing a maid and exterminator. By the way , bed has wheels & has at least an inch of dust under it.. which IS perfect breeding ground for insects. The room has an odor of Brut- Old spice and stale urinal . Very much a disappointing evening. read more

We have returned twice during family visits and we confirm our initial review: comfortable, cozy, affordable. All our stays were off-season one nighters and we have been very pleased with the service and cleanliness of the rooms. Easy check in, check out also. If you are looking for a high-end resort with room service and all the bells and whistles, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, safe and reasonably priced lodgings, look no further. Let's put it this way; we have several relatives in the area who offer for us to stay with them; we choose Spring Garden Inn and will be returning on a regular basis. read more

My BF and I decided to do a state-cation and drive to the Cape before the season started. It was easy to book our cottage, and we had an amazing stay here! It's in the perfect location on 6A, and you can walk to MoMo's Emporium for a yummy breakfast. The only downside was that the hotel manager didn't realize we were arriving that day (I don't know how since it was booked) and our cottage was really dusty. It wasn't enough to complain about, since I just wiped down the surfaces, but I can understand she may have gotten behind since East Sandwich isn't in season yet. The dust wouldn't hinder me from staying here again, though! Best part was the nice view of the marsh :) read more

We stayed here in June 2018. The room is modest but clean and comfy. The view is stunning with marsh stretches for miles. The owner Steve and cleaning lady are super friendly, giving various advices from hiking, sightseeing to dining. Tasty pastries are also provided in the morning, quite a lovely surprise! I wanted to visit family on the Cape and didn't want to pay the outrageous Cape prices for this time of year. I searched for a place in my price range for a week and found this place on Travelocity. It was still a bit out of my range but the best deal I could find so I booked it. I liked the place. The grounds were great with really awesome views of the marsh. The rooms were nice knotty pine which I am a fan of. There were private balcony's with wooden chairs on them overlooking the marsh, I couldn't really enjoy this as it rained when I was there but it was still nice. It is off the beaten path but close enough to shops and beaches. It did need some updating and the bathroom had a mildew smell and yellow spots on the ceiling which looked like nicotine but, I wasn't too picky about this. I've been in a Marriot and seen this kind of stuff. The place was just purchased recently and obviously its a work in progress. The WIFI is awful but again, a work in progress. If you want a true Cape Cod experience, this will give you that. There is no pool but they advertise Kayak rentals, I didn't see where this was. I think it is off the property down the road a bit. A bit misleading. However I didn't ask or explore the property to find these rentals because of the rain so I suggest a call first. My husband wasn't thrilled with the owner. We almost had to cancel due to a family emergency and we were told if he couldn't rent out the room, we would still be charged. Under the circumstances, an exception could have been made. Also when I booked the room I didn't see the option to add others to the room so I booked for 2 adults but I came with my kids and the owner must have been watching us out the window and noticed this. He made it a point to mention it to my husband that we booked for 2 and had 4. My husband told him they are not adults. The owner left it at that but we felt as though he thought we were pulling the wool over his eyes. My mistake, I read the booking process incorrectly...on a side note, travelocity defaults to 2 so watch carefully when you book through them. I would stay here again. Nice place for a couple who wants a quiet weekend away and doesnt care about fancy amenities. read more

Just stayed there a few weeks ago, and I was satisfied with everything :) It's a very quaint little place with a great view of the marsh out back, nicely kept gardens, and it's pretty centrally located (to everything I wanted, anyway - Boston, Plymoth, Provincetown, Nantucket, etc. etc.). It's a nice, quiet neighborhood also - no traffic, no sounds of the city, and no noisy neighbors. The room was nice. I had a room at the back of the building, in what I guess would be the basement level underneath another floor of rooms. There was a family above us who had kids that were CONSTANTLY running around the floor, from 4 or 5pm to around 11:30pm, and we could hear all their footsteps quite loudly (just a side note for people who are sensitive to noise). When I checked in the room wasn't ready yet, which was weird, and I sat about 30 minutes in the room waiting for the maid to finish cleaning the bathroom. I'm not sure what time I arrived - it was after 4pm, if not after 5pm - but come to find out their check-in time didn't start until 5pm, which is very strange to me. Don't plan on checking in early. The room was a full-service room - bedroom separate from living area, full kitchen complete with sink, stovetop, microwave, fridge/freezer unit, and cupboards, and full bath. It was small, the lighting wasn't the best, and the air conditioning unit was only in the bedroom so if you have people sleeping on the pull-out couch in the living area, they'll get hot real fast. I didn't use the wifi, so I don't know how that is, but there was cable TV. The office provides a small complimentary breakfast with pastries and coffee/tea, but I never went up and got anything. The bathroom was small, some of the plumbing looked a little bit older, and some of the molding was coming off the walls, but it did the job. The rates were pretty good, compared to horrendously inflated prices in chain hotels in the area, so I was satisfied, but it's not for those of you who want an extravagant, luxurious hotel room. Would definitely go there again if I ever go back to that area of Massachusetts. read more

Although the building is older, some rooms are small, and some rooms are on the basement level; the owner makes good efforts to make it clean and hospitable. The choice of white furniture and oceanic images on the wall gives a comforting reminder of the seaside. The garden has a lovely view. Even a swamp on its edge is trimmed nicely. When a defective door and a problem with the heating caused an issue, the owner was quick to fix the situation. In the morning, the owners offer sweet treats and coffee. read more

Didn't want to pay the high prices for Cape Cod hotels so my boyfriend and i stayed here. It's what you would expect for the amount you pay. Not fancy, not the cleanest, older but good enough. The only complaint is the lack of parking. read more

This was our first time at Cape Cod, and we couldn't have picked a better motel as our base of operations. It's quiet and comfortable with a scenic view from the back balcony or grassy area in the back. Very serene! It felt like we were at a retreat. Additionally, the staff were outstanding. The owner/manager was super nice, as were housekeeping personnel. We're from the West coast, so we had a 3-hour time difference. That meant late rising each day, and generally out of the room by 12:00. Even so, housekeeping was there to get the room ready for the next night every day of our 6-day stay. The setting is also ideal for touring the Cape, located east of Sandwich and west of Barnstable. I originally booked this based on price and reviews I read online. We had a very positive experience, and highly recommend this site for your lodging needs. read more

Dirty, dirty, dirty. Curious stains on the bedding that I did not want to even consider could be. Dark and grimy bathroom, mold on the ceiling. Stained and worn carpet, dusty surfaces. Toilet broke, opened the tank to reconnect the handle to the chain and the water in the tank was black and viscous like oil. Went to the front desk to tell them that we needed fresh towels and to tell them that the toilet was broken, to find a sign that said no one from the hotel would be available until 4pm. Tacky, outdated and mismatched decor. We had a gorgeous view of the salt marsh from our balcony, balcony had loose railings and spindles. The place looks great from the outside, is in a wonderful location with gorgeous scenery, has good bones overall, but needs a full interior re-hab to correct years of amateurish band-aid repairs and general neglect. Lots of potential, but a bit scary as it stands now. read more
